Brewers vs. Padres Game Highlights (9/23/25) | MLB Highlights
A lot of fun here last night, Padres still have work to do though as we move the calendar to another day on the mound for Padres Randy Vasquez. So after the win last night, you got to forget about that. As Don mentioned, you’re playing for the record now, hopefully more wins and hopefully randy Vasquez answers that call. Seventh pitch of his plate appearance is to short left and gavin sheets is there to make the catch for out number 11 down in the first for Jackson Chur left fielder for Milwaukee way to the first pitch and lifts it to center Bryce Johnson will have plenty of room out. Number two, two, fly outs here in the first takes us to Bryce tight. You walked him and see if the Brewers can capital with a two out walk as William Contreras digs in that a strike three gets him. He will play fastball to end of the inning. Bruce Zimmerman is going to be the guy going for the Brewers tonight making his Brewers debut first appearance since 2023 at the big league level. His experience in the major leagues prior to this was all with Baltimore 100 nine strikeouts, 30 walks for the soft tossing, left hander hit into center field for good start to the bottom of the first inning. The return of Xander Bogaerts, the Padres need this and it’s great. A couple of games here before we get to the postseason rise dancing over there. First base stays put, swing and a Miss Zimmerman strikes out Bogaerts on the splitter. Nice looking pitch right there sheets in the number three spot tonight. That’s Paul four, first walk allowed by Zimmerman one away in the bottom of the first inning. Ramon Louro, the cleanup hitter today and we’ll see if the Padres can’t do some early damage again. Zimmerman 2 to 2 is on the ground will be stopped at third. Padres have them loaded with one down in the inning. So bases loaded one out, no score first inning and o’hearn who’s hit in four straight chance to do some damage here against Zimmerman to right field and it is back, it is gone slam 4 to 0. San Diego, one swing of the bat and the Padres jump all over Zimmerman and the Brewers. It is four to nothing. Just one out into their night. Hung the split and paid dearly for it, left it up in the zone, middle in and O’er continues his heater. Ohern. Oh yeah. Now jose Iglesias will stand in. He had a big homer last night to right center for Perkins. Makes the play for out number two, Bryce Johnson, seventh man to hit in the inning, scored the game winning run. Last night, Johnson goes out to left center Chur is in the gap to make the play for the Padres put up a four spot on the ryan O’er grand slam and we head to the second one gone in the second and that gets caleb Durbin to the plate for the crew to the backhand plants and throws and gets X is back. Oh, that’s got to feel good man. Yeah. Tip of the cap. Nice accurate throw or Hearn likes it. It’s worth another look lower in the eyesight down to the knee quickly up to his feet nicely done. So two outs now and Jake Bowers will be the batter and he takes ball four good take second two out issued by Vasquez as Blake Perkins comes to the plate in the air to left field down the line sheets moving over and he gets there to make the catch one pitch one out for Zimmerman. Here’s Mason mccoy one out. Nobody on foul ball and sprawling out staying at first Deuce mccoy that play by Tang to get there. But Then the throw he did the hard part had more time than he thought he did to make that throw and just threw ak down into the dirt and it got past Bowers not far enough for mccoy to go anywhere. He stands at first. It is ruled in four on Bryce. I’m a little surprised by that too, Josh. So here’s the ball down the right field line will stay fair towards the. It is off the pole gone two run home run for Luis Araz Padres. Take a six to, he loves home runs off the ball. Put a little body English on it. Please stay fair, stay fair. Just a little kiss off the ball. Here it is. What? The ball change direction right there. Oh, that’s beautiful. Loves the ball. So the air immediately comes back to bite the Brewers out. Number one here in the third as the order turns over and Kris Jelic comes to bat to center for base hit into the game for the Brewers that brings up Jackson Chur towards right center field as Liano on the run will get there wasn’t sure he was going to get there, but he did with time to spare out number two. So two down at first and here is Bryce Turan that’s three and that strikeout will end the top of the third inning as jose Iglesias stands in here again. Zimmerman lefty delivers Iglesias hits it hard on the ground, left side in the left field and a base hit and a leadoff knock for Jose Iglesias in the bottom of the sixth inning. He is flying to left to reach Sander’s choice. Ortiz gets to it this time but he’s got no play. It will be a base hit for Bryce Johnson. It’s 1st and 2nd for San Diego here in the sixth inning on the ground, left side. It’s a shortstop Ortiz. His throw is lace. Everybody kind of hesitated. I think he thought Derber was going to cut that off to third base, but when he didn’t, he was kind of back on it and Then tried to go to second. It was late. You got Bryce Johnson running too. Yeah, kind of stopped very frustrating as a pitcher, three ground balls on the infield, three base runners. Now they got the bases loaded. Nobody out in the sixth for Mason mccoy. Zero for two with a run scored short. They’re going to go home and they’ll get one bases remain loaded for Luisa. There’s a liner to second for one on first, double play, spectacular effort by Bryce Tang and Joey Ortiz to turn two and get Zimmerman out of the jam. Back up the middle. A sliding backhanded stop, flipped it to Ortiz who made a perfect turn and the Brewers get out of it with no damage done. Bruce Zimmerman through six job by Randy Basquez. It was fun to watch last 14 hitters you faced and it’s the baseball off to Wandy Peralta. So there you go 1st and 2nd with one away bottom of the order, setting the table for on the ground to second base mccoy will go to second for one on the first, not in time. 1st and 3rd with Perkins at third. Jelic crossed the diamond at first with two outs in the inning and Jackson Turio swing and a miss, he struck him out, gets out of the jam. So one away for jose Iglesias driven to left field. It is back. OMG Jose Iglesias homered for the first time last night and he’s done it again. Padre’s third home run of the night. They lead it seven to 105106 out to left center back to back games with Homers for jose Iglesias. His ball was pummeled to left center seven. Nothing. Padres removed to the ninth inning. Yuki Matsui, the third arm used by the Padres tonight, Rice to lead things off for the crew left center Bryce Johnson on the edge of the track to make the catch number one of the ninth inning. And the Brewers down to their last out as Frelick strolls to the plate still looking for his first hit of the series and Frelick will extend the ball game at least one more batter. He picks up his first hit of the series and that will bring up Caleb Durbin grounded back to Matt. So he will throw to first. That’s the ball. Padres win nice victory tonight as they shut out the Brewers seven to nothing. They pick up a game on the Cubs and they will take the field here tomorrow afternoon with their brooms out trying to sweep the Brewers at petco Park.

What a game!!!
Nice to see the Brewers in peak post season form right as the playoffs are around the corner.
ブルワーズはプレーオフに向けて調整試合に変えたようだ😮
Wild card? Nah! We want the division!
As a Padre fan, a game where everything went smoothly on our side is so few and far between. Congrats to the players who contributed with Tatis, Machado, Merrill, and Cornenworth all off today. Solid pitching night for Vasquez. And Kudos to Yuki Matsui for a rare quiet inning.
So the Brewers fall apart at the same time they have every single season for the past seven years. All we fans can do is pray.
Beat cheese🧀🎉 stalled in the playoffs🎉🎉🎉
Is Joey Ortiz Mexican? I heard he's eligible to play for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.
all home runs lol
Good game for the Padres, hitting showed up, and pitchers looked good.
Got a week or so of regular season baseball left, lets hope they keep this up!
Dodgers are going to choke away the Division, and the Daddies are going to swoop it right along with the World Series this Season. This is their year, for real this time.
I sure hope the Brewers can get hot 🔥 with the bats again and soon. Their defense needs a little improvement as well. I know they have it in them to bounce back.
LET'S GO BREWERS!!! ❤❤❤ 🇨🇦
Padres v Guardians World Series matchup
The main concern of both teams is avoiding injuries.
Taking the foot off the gas is a bad idea Milwaukee
i already see the brewers choking in the post
I dont care what the Brewers record is. Thats the WORST offense ive ever seen and you're going to have to score runs in the pmayoffs
Lol We commited a NOBLE TIGER too😂😂
the pads taking it this year would be a great story
Let’s go Padres
Here we go again, the brewers play the best baseball in June and July and after the all star break they start to lose steam, come August they lose even more steam, and then they start to get injuries so the bad luck kicks in, and when September comes they are out of steam , and can barely win a game, then comes October they have absolutely no momentum going into the playoffs and we know what happens then , the season is over.
