With FVV having a ACL tear the Rockets are probably gonna be in the market for a PG and Simmons and Lowe talk about the Celtics guards in a hypothetical trades. The Rockets have some seriously attractive draft picks and swaps (2027 unprotected Suns and Nets, 2029 Mavericks)

I bet Ime would be frothing at the mouth to be coaching DWhite again lol

  1. If Houston struggles the first couple of months, could see them come with a 3 firsts and FVV’s rehab for Derrick White. Rockets have Kevin Durant, the time is NOW, there’s no messing around there

    For Boston, FVV does a rehab season and comes back next year … could make a lot of sense for both teams, IF houston bowls Brad away with an offer

  4. I had the same thought once Fred went down, but I’m struggling to figure out who we would get back for either white or Pritchard that makes it worthwhile

    It can’t just be picks, we have to remain competitive, you can’t screw over brown and Tatum just for pick capital

    For white imo it would have to be Jabari/sheppard/one of the nets or suns 1sts in 2027, to me that could be worthwhile but it would def hurt badly to lose Derrick

    Pritchard would have to either be Sheppard and one of the 2027 firsts straight up or find a way to make salary work for Jabari

    Either way is definitely possible, like I’m not totally against it but I think it’s kinda hard to get there for both sides

  6. God we are supposed to be contending too but Reed Shepherd and a 3 top end 1st round picks is a great haul for 31 year old Derrick White.

  8. It would have to be a massive overpay, and I wouldn’t rule that out after they just coughed up KD money.

  13. Send White to the Rockets for as many picks as possible then flip the picks and Simmons for Markannen. The hypnotize queta into thinking he’s playing for Portugal.

  15. maybe but Derrick White has openly talked about how Joe Mazzulla changed his life basketball wise, so I doubt the feeling is mutual, also the Rockets have no realistic way to match salary for a Derrick White trade and I’m not taking on VanVleets money…. I could see Pritchard because of the combination of 3 years of cheap salary/who he is as a player, the Celtics could get a pretty significant draft pick return that could help with reshaping the roster around the Jays once they are healthy

    Minimum we will see White go for . Most teams view him as the final piece as we did . Easily could see a bidding war for the teams going for him.

  22. This is not going to happen. Keith Smith already explained that the Rockets are basically cap constrained from moving Van Vleet since they’re basically hard-capped and FVV has a no-trade clause since he’s got a PO on the last year of his deal.

    I like Zach but I don’t think he did his usual level of homework here.

  25. From my perspective we’ve seen the Jays paired with multiple all star level guards and they simply didn’t win. If we can move white for a superstar big or a high draft pick to draft one I wouldn’t be opposed to that.

  26. Unless Houston can provide an offer that can’t refuse(a haul of unprotected FRPs with their young talents), it is a waste of time to discuss about trading White or Prichard to them.

  27. Brad would only do this if he truly thought the window was closed with Tatum. Why else would he trade away guys that can help them compete now for picks that will get you players that will potentially help you several years from now.

  28. From a salary standpoint Adams/Sheppard/Eason for White/Minott works. Can’t trade until Dec 15 though.
