So it appears we have 4 OC’s now

  1. Easton Freeze reported on Primetime last night that this is the same setup most teams have.

Football is a lot more complicated than what the viewer sees as the product on the field.

  2. So when we have a 3rd Down Redzone WR screen called, who do we think will have called that play?!

  3. This will make everything so much clearer for everyone and definitely minimize the confusion about who’s in charge and who’s making decisions. We’re definitely going to the Super Bowl now.

  4. Everyone on staff has certain areas of focused they’re assigned, this is normal. What would be bizarre is handing over play calling duties to each guy depending on the scenario.

  5. So Nick Holz is responsible for the 0.1 yds we average on 1st and 2nd down. I can see why Bo took over the playcalling

  6. we are 3 games in man shit like this should of been determined in ota and built upon but sure man

  7. So they hired Callahan because he’s a modern offensive coordinator and quarterback whisperer. He never called plays for Cincy.

And the expectation was that he was going to be the head coach AND offensive coordinator for the Titans.

Now he’s not going to be an offensive coordinator because it turns out an offensive coordinator who never called plays isn’t good at doing two jobs he’s never done.

Terrible decision. He should have been fired with Ran.

  8. OP’s comment is misleading. Most teams have a breakdown like this. It’s not play in game play calling, but situational understanding and opponent tendencies for the week. Ideally it helps the OC have a better understanding of the defensive tendencies and can call better plays bc of it.

  9. Ramon Foster on 104.5 this morning clarified that this is a standard approach in the NFL

  10. In all of the talk about the offense, I’ve yet to see mention of audibles and how it can have a huge impact on the outcome of a play. Guys like Brady were skilled at reading the defense and quickly adjusting to something that could attack it. It’s a learned skill and takes time. It’s especially challenging with so many young guys out there.

  11. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Cally already has a hard time communicating efficiently. Let’s add some more voices. Gonna slow things down even more. Assuming all these proposed ideas have to go through cally.
