So true

  1. I know people don’t wanna hear it especially with this losing streak but it is nice to be playing important games this late into the season. Better than whatever the hell we’ve been doing the past couple of years.

  2. I chose this life as my parents aren’t really sports fans. My best friend was a Cubs fan growing up so I started watching their games in the doldrums of the ‘85-88 teams. Being from Kenosha, I could have been a Brewers fan too, but nahhh. Almost my entire extended family are Packers fans, but there at least I had the Bears defense to latch onto from first grade (1984) through middle school. Bears and Cubs now give me lots of anxiety even when they have good times lol

  3. It’s why you have to enjoy it when they’re giving you something to enjoy rather than picking at whatever isn’t going well. Do I think they are going to win the World Series? I think there are some good reasons to doubt this is the year, but that’s not a good enough reason to ignore the good shit when it’s happening.

Yesterday was obviously not the good shit, but today might be

  4. I won a Sox hat when I was a kid. My grandmother threw it in the trash when I got home.

  5. If anything, my anxiety is high lol. I am going to just try and enjoy what this season has left. They would need to go on another miracle run. We will always have the first half.

  6. In my younger days I used to take sports really seriously and personally, but these days I don’t let myself get upset when things go bad. I still get elated when the teams I follow do good things and make playoff runs. But I don’t see the point of feeling bad when things go wrong, I have literally no control over it and no real skin in the game.

  7. I was born and raised in Tennessee. So I technically chose the Cubs. I was 5 and had just started t-ball. And they were on wgn. But yeah I have suffered, i have had great joy, I’ve wondered why. But after 40 years I wouldn’t change anything
