Yankees’ ninth-inning rally clinches playoff spot, and they enjoy postgame celebration
Cody you guy. You’ve been a part
of a lot of champagne celebrations in your career.
What’s so special about doing it in the Yankees uniform? Yeah,
very That’s the best feeling right
there. Yeah, you know, this is the, you
know, you know, the biggest big stage
in baseball so, you know, we believe in each
other and, you know, we got a great
Squad and, you know, through the good and bad. We all we all
believe in each other. What specifically is different
about playing in the postseason? Yeah, I mean, you know I think
do the 162 games, right? You know the Ebbs and flows right in
the postseason. It’s all about winning. And you know, it
seems like every moments moments bigger at the end of the day. You know
you got to treat it the same. It’s just a baseball game and
both really easier said than done, but we’ve got to keep it rolling.
What specifically do you guys need to do right? In order to go
all the way, you know, keep playing our best
baseball believing in each other and, you know, playing for each
other. That’s that’s the biggest thing Aaron. This is
your personal 8th time. Going to the postseason, what is it
about this team? That makes? You think it’s capable of winning a World Series. We got all the talent in the
world, but I think it’s just a mindset of this team. Even
going back to the game tonight. Got an early lead you know we
lose it but I think the guys all the way down the last strike
know we’re going to win that game so just about having that grit
determination and just knowing they were going
to pull out every single game as long as you trust each
other. I know you view this as the first step what specifically
needs to go right for this team to go all the way. I think it comes down to a
little things. You know, we saw that last October it’s about us
taking care of the little things throughout the game but
backing up a base. Making the routine plays coming up with a big hit with a
runner over. You know, we’ve talked about this all year you
know it’s about the little things we can help us win games
in October. So we just got to keep doing. We’re
doing how much time. Do you allow yourselves to
celebrate before you turn the page of focus on what’s
next? We got a couple hours before
tomorrow so we’re going to celebrate tonight. And then the clock strikes midnight, it’s
time to go. You know go out there and talking to the
vision as a before the game. I saw you casually and you said
tonight was going to be tame. If you Flinch. Do you think this is tame? I think it’s name. Did you see us last year? And I guess when you came to the ballpark
today knowing that you could punch a postseason berth different when you took the
field, Now we’re really just paying
attention. I went into the vision honestly, to me like,
yeah, we got we got the postseason. That’s the first
step is making it to the postseason, but at the end
of the day we want to win the division. So our innocent it right here. Last year, like you mentioned,
you were a part of this last year. What is it going to take
for this specific team to make it back to that point and
ultimately win? I feel like what we’re doing right now,
we’re not giving up when we’re down when we’re up were going to keep
them down. I feel like everything we’re
doing right now is everything we need to do. Right now,
staying resilient and clenching the division. How
much time do you allow yourself to celebrate before? Turning a
page in focusing on that? I mean, mrs. It after this
Diner. When we spoke shower up, it’s time to go, please
division. It’s not, you know, you’re welcome.
The Yankees offense was stifled for much of the night but came through with a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the White Sox and clinch a postseason berth. Cody Bellinger, Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm enjoy the locker room celebration and look ahead to the playoffs.

Baseball the only sport they drink for making the playoffs. No wonder the sport is dying.
