11. The whole point of him was to get value from the rookie contract. Paying him what he’s worth, strips him of value as a target.

12. I don’t expect this to matter too much, but it might give us a bit of wiggle room on Ayton’s contract negotiations.

    I’m expecting that playing next to Luka will enable Ayton to have a breakout year and ask for a big payday to match (30m is not an unreasonable starting point for an 18/11 big). At least now we can threaten to try to pay Kessler if his agent gets overzealous. Though hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
