2. The way he fielded the ball was so smooth and instinctive — I feel like some pitchers sort of get spooked at comebackers (rightfully so) and sometimes forget who’s on what base and struggle to even get one out. Way to turn two right there.

26. Before putting him in the outfield, the Fighters actually tried him out at SS in practice sessions, but they quickly ended that experiment, according to Shohei himself. But he will probably make a fine 1B as a big target to boot.
