Jeff Teague on Zion: “This is probably the dumbest press conference I’ve heard in my life… You choose to eat, be out of shape… Now you decide to lock in… I ain’t a fan no more… You were damn near 300 pounds.”

  1. The dumbest press conference? Don’t all teams have a media day? Was he supposed to come out in a burqa so no one would ask him about his weight?

  2. Kelvin Benjamin on Golden Corral: “This is probably the dumbest buffet I’ve been to in my life… You choose to not put out crab legs, be out of crab legs… Now you decide to put crab legs out… I ain’t a fan no more… I paid damn near 30 dollars.”

  3. Mike called out this could be a problem… players getting paid way too much and thinking they don’t owe the game anything before they even accomplished anything significant

  4. This is exactly what I’ve been thinking
The weird thing people do is give so much credit after having to lower the bar so low for them to get over it..

  5. Teague has been saying a lot of shit I agree with but my god how do people listen to this? This is thee most boring shit I’ve ever heard lol, come on man this is phoning it in as a podcast calling out Zion for phoning it in god damn.

Again, I like what he’s doing but holy shit bless the people that actually sit through this monotone shit

  6. Would the Pelicans even give him an extension? They should trade him if he has a good start to the season.

  7. Was he actually out of shape or is he now in excellent shape ?

Zion was fit enough to play elite level basketball so he obviously wasn’t fat.

  8. It’s the same thing every year. He looks in shape & seems to be ready by training camp. Then it just all goes to shit.

  9. Im pretty shallow when it comes to the super-duper stars. Zion has been, basically an embarrassment the last half decade, but the first highlight reel dunk, Im all the way back in.

  10. But he’s been losing weight since 2024 tho it’s not like he just started doing it this season wtf is Jeff on about?

  11. I’m all for players improving aspects of their games throughout the years. This hyping up ATHLETES for finally getting in shape years into their career fascination is just not it for me. Zion is on a max contract. There shouldn’t be no pat on the backs for putting down the fries when a franchise gives you $40Ms AAV to lead them to success.

  12. That’s literally how I felt when Zion went on that press tour last year, saying “I’m out for revenge on everyone who doubted me”.

The doubt was people asking why he wouldn’t take care of himself, and also his questionable decisions (tricking on women) instead of focusing on his craft.

  13. 2 of the biggest what ifs will forever be ben simmons and zion williamson. Both guys had the ability to be the best in the world and one was scared to shoot and the other was scared of a salad.

  14. They paid Zion $115M to eat all he wanted, be injured, be fat. Now he’s back to college weight.

Fucking clowny ass org. Can’t even sell the franchise because nobody fucking wants it and Joe Dumars just fucked the team’s tank option next year for a statue center.

  15. Zion needs to hear this type of shit. It will either make him pout or light a fire under him. I feel like he doesn’t have anyone in his camp bullying him enough.

  16. Why is Jeff Teague a voice of authority all of a sudden? If the answer isn’t the obvious “NBA fans are bored and have too much attention to give to a mid podcast” then someone enlighten me.

Also Zion will be back to 298.5 by late season so I’m not falling for this again.

  17. I know they say you won’t know what you’ll do until you’re in the situation, but idk if your job is to be in shape and play ball and you’ll get paid hundreds of millions, it really seems like a no brainer. No Moriah mills

  18. I hate how every player has a podcast now, any jobber can come in and say something now. Just because you played in the NBA, doesn’t mean you should have a podcast.

You need to have some charisma.

  19. Look at the pattern. Its not the end of his contract this season, but his contract year is coming up. This is the point where most people who’ve been slacking the whole time actually start to ball out.

Zion has entered the period of his contract where he’s become more affordable to other teams, and its more viable to trade him now. Now he’s gotta prove he’s worth keeping again especially if he wants a lucrative extension.

  20. when he wouldn’t come back for the playoffs despite pretty much getting cleared to play, I was out on him.
