Rich Eisen Doubles Down on His Bengals/Jake Browning Take Despite Cincy’s Week 3 Blowout Loss

What do you think about the comparisons of Joe Burrow to Andrew Luck with the injury history and retiring early? And then do you think that uh the Bengals front office is ruining their own Super Bowl window? Oh wow. How they’re uh not paying players to protect Joe Burrow. I guess it’s that that you you brought this up the other day, TJ, when Burrow uh had just been drafted and then the the Bengals had the fifth overall pick and there was a drawing of of uh him on his behind um if they drafted Jamar Chase and not the offensive lineman to protect him. And then there’s one where he’s now throwing to receiver X or potentially missing receiver X cuz P he’s a Pen Su was there to block for him. There was like a drawing. We saw that. Yeah, I got to find it was like a stick figure. I don’t know. And to me and to me it’s just it and and and again I know you don’t like it and you think I’m just trolling you. It’s the same thing. So we got to trade Micah to shore up the run game. How about doing both? You know what I mean? How about you do both? How about you get Jamar Chase and then you start drafting the hell out of the offensive line or you find the offensive lineman. And it’s not like they haven’t tried. It just hasn’t worked. Um thanks for the call, Noah. Yeah, you have to look at this and say now Burrow has played six years. He’s gotten three 4,000 plus yard seasons and three seasons that have been wiped out due to injury. Yeah. And the question is which guy is he and why is he either one of these guys? And he can be both guys. He can be both guys and he can get back if Jake Jeez. If Jake Browning can just keep this boat afloat. I’m serious. I know you are. I I if he can just keep the the boat afloat and they did finally at least have a good base of operations in the first two games of the season. So, you could cough up the two and 0 start this Monday night in Denver, right? Because I I this is a tall order to go into Denver and beat a Denver team that’s lost two in a row. They could be three and 0. They’re pissed and um so they’re two and two after that. Now, let’s go 500. So, you could go two games under 500. You go 500 and get Joe Burrow back in the last month of the season and see what you can do. Best case. Yeah. Right. And save this season. Do you believe that? I mean, really? I I I I’m going to keep speaking it into existence as much as I possibly can to back my own play right now. Well, look, I I I I don’t like people getting on you online about being wrong. So, you know, I don’t care about that. I’m going to hope you’re right. You know, I don’t care about that. Yeah, but I care because my invitations to appear on ESPN shows have dried up all of a sudden. Well, that’s what we can’t have it, you know. So, I mean, why are we having this guy on with these bad takes? It’s not called bad takes. Not called bad take. Would that be a new great new show on ESPN? Can we do a segment like that? We just bad take. Bad take. Let’s do that on a Friday. Bad take. Give us give our worst take into the weekend. We talking playoffs or what? I’m into bad take. That’s a bad take. New show. Bad take. That’s a funny idea. That’s a good show. Oh, we’ll run that up the flag pole. It might be just be a good podcast. Bad take. Despite the fact of their early demise, the Cowboys will still rise. You know, something like Let me ask you this. Isn’t overreaction Monday in a way bad take? For sure. For sure. We’re kind of piloting bad take. For sure. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

  1. Bengals next three games are Broncos-Lions-Packers. If they can find a way to win one, they will be 3-3 heading into a stretch of Steelers-Jets-Bears-Steelers-Patriots. I would like to see where they are at that point.

  2. Bengals ran into the Vikings at the worst time. Got Harry, Gink and Darrisaw back at the same time and it really boosted everything. If its just as bad next week, then Bengals fans should worry.

  3. Richs' take that Jake Browning is the best backup QB in the NFL is way worse than his take 2 years ago that the Chiefs were done and not winning the AFC West.

  4. Again to all the blind who think corruption doesn't exists in the NFL. You dont speak about the illegal hits on joe burrow. Illegal hits that go uncalled along with bad calls that cost the bengals multiple games including a superbowl season. Listen and listen good. Any tram would love to have joe burrow over tomb Brady over any super bowl winner the last 4 years. Why because joe burrow can win with the bengals. So he can win with any team. As for the situation goes the team just quit on them selfs. Jake Browning just doesn't want to play. He needs to figure out his priorities again and let the organization know what that is. So they can go get a quarterback.

  5. Rich's optimism can come off as so naive given how much experience with the NFL he has. Burrow is most likely out for the year and even if he comes back it's gonna take him a couple games to get his rhythm and they'll be out of the hunt by then anyways 💀
