PAOLO BANCHERO ORLANDO MAGIC FULL NBA WORKOUT 🔥 | Jordan Lawley Basketball
your 80% is just working better than a lot of people don’t you have the the core aspects to be able to get as you said whatever you want now it’s just a matter of using your chest moves right to sit yourself up you feel that pressure you know exactly what you’re trying to do YouTube what’s going on we are back uh very excited to bring you guys this video we did a week long uh a week’s worth of workouts I’m a huge fan of Paulo and his game. I’ve reached out to him, talked to him uh over the past like couple years just saying how much I I loved his game, different areas that I thought uh he did extremely well and got the amazing opportunity to work with such a young talent and uh over the course of this first workout uh which you guys are going to be watching very shortly. Uh we talked about kind of three things um for the workout. First of which uh we wanted to attack his decision-m coming off of creating little advantages out of the mid post. Um, we wanted to address uh shooting through kind of hesitancy in a shot. So, we incorporated a recoil um which was great for him to just kind of get out of his own head, stop being so stiff um when going into uh his shot. Make sure you guys before you start watching the video, give it a like. Make sure you subscribe if you haven’t already. We’re going to be a lot more consistent with our videos that we’re going to post on here. I’m even going to get back into some one-on-one content, which I’m really excited about. But this is who I am. This is what I do. Teaching basketball at a high level. Love working with high level athletes, but we train everybody. So, this is the attention you get whether we’re working with an average Joe or somebody who’s leading the magic to a fruitful year. Let’s get it. And the third thing was aim small, miss small. So, we did a ton of directional drills uh for shooting to especially to start off where we focus on him making front rim, side rim, like left, right rim, back rim, switch uh to really lock in on where he was shooting the basketball. But enough of me talking. Here’s getting through it. Let’s go. First workout of the summer for him with us. Yeah. Yeah. Or we can reach into space, back to space. Change angle. Just try a little. [Music] That’s the one that [Music] shots down. Get lazy on the exit. Play hard. Be aggressive. [Music] Quick up [Music] that you shot it and got out of it where they’ve shot before you need to be perfect. you’re 80% that 90% you start having slow mechanics start hanging on to the ball too long. Your 80% is freaking better than a lot of Do me a favor though. It’s knocked down. 536 to get activated to the shot. One, two, three. Easy. Yes. Beautiful. That’s a free one. Get [Music] [Applause] three. [Music] Shoot. Let’s do one more. Keep those things. When you complete that pause, so when I start leg, we end up going through some kind of a stretch. Try to keep the cables of like catch, set, pull, catch, set, pull. Ball is here. Don’t catch it. Gra and then hold while getting up to [Music] people, right? to create that down. Good. Good. Heavy break. Three. Good Yes. [Applause] [Music] You feel that pressure? [Music] Yes. [Applause] catch on too. Yeah. So like when you open up if you have a defender who’s forcing on that forcing on that baseline shoulder, it’s usually because they’re trying to force you into that passive goal. So use that. It’s like a D. You feel that pressure. You know exactly what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to defend. So you have technology for that. I got two or right here. So like what are your bikes? It’s it’s not just the we start to like our decision right there. Those leads especially our heads always fast. You don’t need to rush into it but you have the the core aspects to be able to get whatever you want. Now it’s just a matter of using the chest moves right to save yourself up. Uh we got two. Yeah. You do four. I get third. [Music] Yep. [Music] Three is going to be just a pull. So, we’ll have three shots. Yep. We start with ball handle back here. [Music] on the bar. One, two, or three. The one is chuckle left three. Two is chuckle right three. All have the same level of prep. You’re taking on this first one. Get to that same thing. Got it. So, it’s not always going to be a it’s not always going to be that like three of the help side. Your objective is to get to the basket, throw a shoulder through frame. Yeah. [Music] 3 1. [Applause] Nice. Make seven. Got to make seven, boys. One drive. 1 2 [Music] Three feet. [Music] Thanks, coach. 3 5 3 [Music] [Applause] Yes. Yes. Two. Yep. Ready? One, [Music] three. [Applause] Where’s your kill spot? Are you seeking Are you seeking a serious space on the floor? I’m trying to give you the light on. Yeah, if I can get down there and I know what’s my foot the weight line up. You got options. Yeah. My bad. I I structured that question wrong. What’s your initiator? What’s your initiating spot on the back now? Yeah. Are you trying to get to like second hash, third hash, deep paint? Are you trying to go through second? Yeah. Like working up like getting down kind of working like up and down a little bit. Yes. Here. That’s like that’s what was key on. It’s like working the baseline lifting up like like rather than just feel like you need to I know it’s easy to big body me just like run through me every time it’s like restructure like when I get tired that’s what I refer to. Yep. But that is kind of more what I want to do is kind of work the line back. It’s like new freaking turn around. I’m telling you that’s you. Like that’s part of your archetype. That’s part of your mirror. It is like can you get to it? How many times a game can you get to it? Because you need to always like seek that. But it helps when we like think of our reps. Not like a form of I’m just going to go get a bucket. It’s like now I’m be tactical with it. When I catch the ball, my objective is to get to initiating point point and then from there get to a kill spot. Your lane line is your kill spot. 100% agreed. Also just below block going baseline is a kill spot cuz that’s our turnaround initiator as well. Like but figure out or find that line. Don’t allow me just to kind like push you through the rotations of the drill. [Applause] Three step three. See it. See it. Yeah, I’m with it. Okay. 2 5 1 3 [Music] threes. I’m not going to call them. I want you to read my frame. Okay. [Music] The first like the free throws sucking after the first like few that you took. You guys just feel static. The detail line would make you so mechanical upper body like get that release. Have that little bounce when you’re finishing on toes like flutter a little. It was also like pop of flow through your shot rather than like just trying to value 72 basket. Yeah. That been about a free throw like low 70s. Oh, the best cuz I get to the line all game. 72. Yeah, I pass it. Better than Dice. Dice was a 58. Like we had to go through a full like free throw rebuild this off season. I mean, I wouldn’t say I need like a rebuild, but like I just need like consistent like cuz this past year I had got hurt, but I started the year like 60, low 60s and then the last like after all I got shot at 82. Yeah. So, it’s like I’ve had good stretches, but put my whole season together of like, you know, 80 plus. Yeah. A lot of it is like uh just being able to take like whatever it is that fear of failure, the fear of missing like left, short, right, and being able to replicate that. You’re training, replicate that in like your pregame stuff. So that way when you get to the game, it’s like you’re not only seeing the same shot, you’re smelling the same things, you’re feeling the effects of the same things. So that way you can eliminate all those variables like those mental variables cuz 90% of the world is freaking mental. kidding 15 footer like Yeah, you should make nine out of 10 of those nine freaking times in a way. That’s how I think. So, it’s like then I miss and then I get like 100% pressing. Yeah, 100%. Cuz seeing when you get frustrated here like have those little mental like lapses every time you step into like a free throw routine or free throw space, think of it as like you’re opening a door and every time you open that door, the lights are off. You know where all the furniture is. You know where everything is. So, you can just turn the light on. But that needs to be your approach. Every single time you step into a free throw, it’s opening the same door into the same room. Not not letting anything like any other variable like pop in to the equation. Okay. [Applause] Right now, we’re going to just get to rapid fire threes. So, we’ll have 30 seconds of just consistent shooting going to try to fatigue you. And then after that, I’m going to call for directions. So when you get to a pass or on the pass, it’ll say swish or left, right, back, and we got to hit those targets on this on the rim. I don’t want you to compromise your pace. Love that. Up now. Up now. [Applause] 5 4 3 2 1 [Music] Oh y [Applause] held it again. got a little bit flatter, real heavy, like we need to make those adjustments like in real time. Feel it. You can see or peek at that one when you know the miss is right. Know how the body makes that quick adjustment to get to the next one. Okay, let’s get back to the same thing. I love finishing off like workouts like that. We get a little bit of momentum and rhythm. I want to do the same thing. Can you just go to a foot replacement for me on these threes? So, I love the rhythm step. I just want to see what 30 seconds look like on this. [Music] [Music] 16. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Good. [Applause] [Music] How do you fly? What are you going to rhythm step? Those are going to be the three type of like shots out of the catch that we really try to key on. Rhythm step for you is the white. really good foundation, really good basic rhythm. So, we’re going to rep out. We want to see three in a row just off the rhythm step from the slot. [Applause] that last minute. Don’t let yourself be heavy. Step off. It’s not a great job to make you with the simple workout like stroke your ego like you know the freaking major one. You don’t even need to tell anybody like what you I want to make things as difficult for you as possible. I want to exploit those areas where we find struggle so we can work through it right now. Your biggest element is that cadence and you start guiding fatigue. Keep using that weight. Release it. Look at you. [Music] All right, step off the line for the carrier. [Music] 1. Got it. Recoil this last one. That third round of recoil. Good cadence. Catch that. Pull. Pull. Catch that. Pull. Good. [Music] Goodness. Yep. One recoil. [Music] A lot of times I I take my time kind of catch and hold. Yeah. Like I mean that footwork he showed me is like a good way to kind of make a read without having to catch and hold. Like soon as I step out whatever way he’s not that’s the way I’m going. He has to he has to move. If I move and take up that space, he has to move back into my space shot. But if he doesn’t go right by like that’s kind of the beauty of like understanding yourself close. It’s like when you have that exception, everything else becomes what playing shooting fish in a barrel. If you just go into the same like cadence of like a catch, hold, read, like defense converges, like things become you start trying to plug a square plate into a round ball versus like getting that initial setup where you can just go and use your asset of like your size and then create your options for yourself. Then you’ll have reps where as soon as you touch, what did the the defender do? Then you’re just going to gap, right? Like if you’re going to catch a ball at the mid post, if you can get into those like quick reaches when they’re just going to catch a graft or you just have shot and then after that starting up and now you can just like whatever right now you can go back to playing slow and burying. Does that make sense? I think those definitely take two little. What do we suck at? My sense popped out when I got tired. Maybe not heavy classic fatigue. Sure. I just want one two or five. Yeah, we got three. But what do we do? Great. On balance. My shot. Last time I thought of getting stuck. So fun. Well, that’s what people think cuz like Yeah, you guys should be able to read like the follow through with that release of what you do after you release the structure of coordinates, but actual follow through itself. So, if we can get comfortable with that follow, I thought you did a great job of balancing, great job with structure on the follow through. Also, thought you did a great job of working hard tech a little guy like me and then creating those drive lines. You already have that engineer like category competitor knowledge of like learning how to you know to the baseline play it like those Kobe helmets that something that’s extremely high level and she get to you. Okay. So every day what we do is you’ll hide that deck.
