To start. What was the process
like with you and enough of your attitude? How
did you come to the event? Come here buddy. Kind of noticed
or get bought out by Utah and you know make my choice to come here
and sit up. Wow, I mean the team is really good. They playing for some these guys have watched a lot
during the playoffs and During the year, just felt
comfortable in this place, Josh being here and, you know, having conversation
with those dudes. And during that time, I just wanted to be
here. Obviously, last adventure
touring last year, your reputation as a 6 and a
prestigious. Will you see that you think of yourself as a good? I mean it sounds like that, but I’m
just coming in here, you know, playing my role.
Whatever the coach needs me to do. I’m here. And I know that’s me being at the highest level on
the floor and that’s the way I impact the game. Definitely don’t try to step on
the floor and impacted in any way I can. But some of that is doing that
scoring on the bench. But I got a lot of areas where, you know, I got to pick up
defensively and communication wise to help this
team win. Last couple years. I was it was it was pretty
difficult Norma, copied a competitor. At the end of the
day we want to win and you know, just that time was
a, you know, it just didn’t line up a month and that’s no disrespect to them
and anyway, but you know, I’m kind of I’m here
now and you know, so I mix basketball. I mean I was in and out of
games, all last year, that’s probably all I can contribute
to, I wasn’t able to play a full season but, you know, that’s a small sample size. I know, people have seen me play a full
season 72 plus games at a high level,
so getting back to that and focusing in and lock it in is where I’m at. Because it seems very quickly that we do, you know what a guy’s?
Well come here. Oh, Jalen Josh, Kevin McCullough is dead
believe. Coach me like middle school or something like that? Yes, I know a few of the guys
here OG. Super cool. And yeah, those are probably know
man cause that I was cool. Nice to meet you as well. I think all of his communication
for me is, you know, I’m a be myself
within, you know, what’s going on already? D. And that’s where I’m a hold my head on that. You know I’m a make my changes
or whatever I got to do to fit in here and play the right way and you know figure that out spreads their training camp. But definitely, I feel like down the line, all the guys know
I throw it to me is going it’s getting in the air and yeah, majority of time. I feel
like I’m open but you know, that comes with comes with a great. So no, I got it. Take good shots and play the right way as well, but I feel like, you know, my role and who I’ve
been in the past season to who I am. Now, like I said, just to
comfortability, I hear seen those guys play. Josh, Jalen Cat. Just watching them
throughout the playoff series and, you know, just just maybe want
to come here and I was, you know, my top of
the list when they said, do you want to, you
got opportunity to come to the next house. Full go herbs.
No, listen to nothing else. I just, I watched every game honestly, you know, they on TV a lot, so
good miss one. So yeah, just get an opportunity to
I’ll watch him, see how they play, move the ball. And, you know, the best thing about
it is all those dudes play hard, and that’s defensively
crashing, the glass, everything and seeing that coming here, with her new
situation. And, you know, all of us are kind of learning might
be System, what he needs to do,
what he’s putting in so I think so many good me, definitely too fast. Pace being able to get up and down
and ball movement that we have. And then defensively, I think
we’re going to be super aggressive. The guys we have on this this
lineup and super athletic and you know, play one
through five. So it’s a lot of Versatility and
you know, Mike is proven is that he’s been around, you know,
winning situations, he’s won the championship and you know, heshes very
strong-minded and detail. So I’m excited, Jalen just being around, you know, I
was cool with Julius as well. So a few times when Julius and Jalen were
together eating or something, I was we were out here and then
kind of ran into them and talk to them and Jalen Came to Manila for World Cup. Use my
braid, her a few times, him and Josh my braider. So yeah. And then we just got close
to do all that. In terms of marketing is pretty nice. I mean, as usual
in New York, yeah, feel like you’re more of a ma’am. I’m a heavy. We’re kind
of guy noun 1. Well, why man for sure, I mean that was just me telling
him, hey man, if you ever need somebody to come off the bench and Tom and he’s right, you know, I’m here, I’m not looking for the ball but
you know, if you get in trouble in the last five I’ll be
around if you need somebody to throw it too. So I mean those
are just like little tidbits. I would throw to him
like when we had World Cup and stuff just getting in this year
but that was just all playful talk,
but shoot. I’m here now. So Little baby just shot me a text.
I told him I just sent him. I think I said we said this on
the thing I just sent him double zero and he know what it meant but I just
I’m here that’s relevant. It just like hit the team the the
spirit that they had on the court, the way there was
playing tough every possession. It was it was really playing. Gather, you can’t really tell
there was really Binding Together and the other goes
together. So I like that then, you know, they just fight on the
court. You were to give everything up. Oh yeah. For sure what they did
last year was awesome. You know, so everybody
get to watch it. I was really watching the series
fish. Set against the Indiana. You know, I really
think they give it everything out there and it was really fun
to watch. So for sure this play to, you know, coming in here, I’m just telling myself, you
know, I’m just trying to give my best in the court and try to
help the team win as much as game responsible. You know, take
it, step by step, day by day. How do you translate that to
this situation? I just my experience, you know,
I really just try to come out here and try to fit as much as
possible. You know, I’m just trying to put
the team first, you know, I’m coming here. Try to see what the team has been doing and
I’m just trying to follow the lead, you know, just try to be out there. Try to do is this
mistake as possible and really try to play my my baby
basketball to try to help the team. Really grateful to be able to be
in here and just big organization, you know, with
everything that I’ve been done before. So come on in
here, my mind was just try to really play as a as a team, you know, just try to
be a good teammate. First, you know, home and off the
court, just try to bring all the energy possible. You know, play everything every day with
joy, you know, bring the fun idea and then the recommend take care of
himself Most attention. Thanks for your site for you.
And what that tell you about yourself as a player that you
bring, which movie, At that particular time, I
wasn’t really thinking about anything. You know, I was just
really with the national team. We know it was hosting the
Olympics. I was really important for us to try to go to the final first and then play that finals
against USA was the best thing for us, but our intern was a
player, you know. I was just, you know, try to be the best in the court.
Try to help the team try to be unselfish and you
know, try to make place so you know my mindset moving
over there was just we try to be the best. He’s out there. First of all, I gain more
experience, you know, every every summer every season, I’m just learning, you know,
anything new even from their season, with the Sixers, you
know, I’m still learning, you know those plaintiff, I was playing
the for when thing goes bad you know,
you still got to show up. Place your ass out on the court,
so stuff like that, you know, make
me a better player and make me understand the game a little bit
more. So when I come in here, I’m just going to leave it
at everything out there and I’m not trying to leave the
corporate regrets. It might be still room, you
know, I’m just coming in here. Today to tell myself, I’m trying
to learn something, you know, all of these guys get experience
to be in a final obviously and I didn’t in
India, you know. So I’m coming in here and try to learn from
those guy too, you know. So when I come in here, I’m telling my mom
to learn something new every day, especially with the
clutch, like, Mike Brown, you know, being around him and I
know I’m going to learn and get better. So, coming in here, you know, I tell
myself that when I’m gonna end this season, I know. I’m
going to learn a lot and I’m definitely going to be a
different player than when I was when I got here. Yeah, for sure. Even even till this day, but,
you know, still find it was it was definitely a great. I liked
especially at the, at the level of this competition, you know,
because the Olympic, I think it’s the
best competition, the word. So being able to do this at the
final, of course, that makes it even better but yeah, I think I don’t know if
I’m going to be done hearing about it. You know. It’s always
fun but for sure, I appreciate it. A new cat before. I think when I got to the United
States for the first time, the first workout I had
was with him in his high school. I think I’m
not mistaken, so I kind of knew him a little
bit, some of the French guy kind of
know them to little bit but I didn’t really know everybody
personal. But yeah, I’ma get to know everybody. No, I think I think it’s going
to come later. You know, me, I’m open to everything, you
know, whatever coach wants me to do. I’m going to try
to do it the best I can. But yeah, we had a couple
conversations, especially when I
got here to sign the contract, we was talking. We didn’t really talk about a
basketball team was going to happen this season, but we were
just talk about life, you know, in general family and stuff like
that. He wanted to get to know me and saying for me, but, you know, we all know he’s a great coach,
so happy to be here. Are happy to
be part of his team and, you know, we’re going to try to make things together. Pretty tired. You’re not gay.
I’m not gonna lie, I’m not gonna like but that’s what I
need. You know, after the your basket that I stopped a little
bit completely activity. So we just have a practice for me
especially to get really in shape and be the best on the
court. But the first part is pretty good. I think we got a little chemistry going on. So
we don’t be working on it, especially on the details and
going. We don’t work and get better. Yeah, I think you’re right.
Yeah, it is for sure. And I’m gonna talk to myself,
you know, it gets me going, gets me practicing, at least in
a summer and play basketball, and then, so, even if I cut this two weeks, you
know, is definitely better than if I was cutting for longer than
that. So it keeps me in shape for sure.
And even if those first couple of days, it’s going to be a
little hard but I’m gonna get there.
I’m a good. There and definitely I think
this competition in a summer, definitely help you back. So the the team was already
constructed, you know, without me. So of course still if I say
something and you know, I feel like this is the right time to
say something or to bring something positive, you know Intergroup, I will do it for
sure. But coming in here, you know,
I’m just shut up. See what my role is going to be,
but I’m not try to overstep and try to do too much, you
know, I’m not also thinking about it
too much. I’m just ready to go. Come in here and play basketball
first. So things really gonna go to find Itself by itself on
the court and stuff like that. We were going to play is thing
that’s going to come automatic, so I’m not putting pressure into
myself or anything like that. I’m really just trying to
come in here and feed on the tip. So, again, Yeah, I want to thank one or two
like one, really that the one that was that was
good too. But, you know, my choice was to, to come in
here because I really believe I’m on the team. I believe in
those guys, everything care that they be
doing. Like I said, I sure was pretty awesome and, you know, I
like the energy of the city. Yeah. First again it’s gonna be
it’s gonna be. It’s gonna be interesting. I fell for a very good year is
gonna be interesting. Of course, those are my guy first and
foremost so you know. Just being able to see the
Intrepid up a little bit. With them is going to be is
going to be a fun game for sure. Because I know I can you talk
about what they did, you know. Yeah. So not at all, like, it’s never
personal. You know, this is a business that we’ve seen. We
heard we, you know, we we’ve been around
so I’m not the first, the first guy, it is what it is, so I
never hold a grudge. Um, I want to thank thank them for sure. To
give me a second chance, you know, that the team, they really believed in
me. So this discount, you know, so this
really means something for me. So, you know, I’m not
holding the grudge against anybody. I’m just I’m just happy
to play against them. I’m going to see my guys, you know, being having Debbie with them is
going to be special especially well for those two
games and, you know, we just try to have some fun and enjoy
