Hi all, me and my dad have been trying to work out the history of this image and all we keep finding is people selling prints of it and people posting it without context. Could someone tell me at least who the rag player is and maybe what year it is from? Thank you.

Tomas Sandstrom. Not sure what year but somewhere between 85-89.

1984-85 season that was only season smitty wore the black koho pads and used the white and orange vic goalie stick starting in 1986-87 season rest of his career his black pads were made by JB Brown

It’s Tomas Sandstrom, and he most certainly deserved it.
That’s Sandstrom. He and Wilf Paiement were two of the dirtiest players I ever saw. Always with the stick. Stick always high. Dave Brown eventually got retribution of sorts.
Thomas Sandström and Ulf Samuelsson played in the same youth team. You wonder who was their leader?
