[Jones] Quentin Grimes has two options—an $8.7M qualifying offer with a no-trade clause or a one-year balloon payment to waive it—while the 76ers are open to a four-year deal; Grimes is open to the long-term contract, but the two sides remain far apart on money.

  1. I would be much more inclined to believe Grimes wants something like 25m than Daryl isn’t willing to give him 17 or 18

  2. I like Grimes. I have since I first saw him on the Knicks. But, we have 3 all star caliber young guards.

If you look at the contracts he fits well at 17.
    Players in that range are:
    Kevin Huerter

    Max Struce

    Terrance Mann

    Keldon Johnson

    Andrew Nembhard

    At 25.
    Jaden McDaniels

    Demar DeRozan

    Aaron Gordon

    Deandre Hunter

Personally I think he fits in the 17 range. But I respect it if he wants to bet on himself.

  3. Could we sign and trade for Eason? I think Eason would be at half the QA and Zach Lowe mentioned on the BS pod that it’s weird the rockets haven’t mentioned an extension + FVV just went out for the year and they need another creator. We desperately need athletic wings that can play the 4.

  4. The Sixers are one team where a QO may actually be to their benefit. The no trade clause sucks but it is unlikely they could get a player better than Grimes back for Grimes anyway. And it gives them financial flexibility down the line. Grimes may also very well accept a trade too if he thinks it’s to a situation where he can show out.
