  1. Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball (postseason format):

    #Playoffs magic number- 3

    #Division magic number- 3

Who lets a little rain get in the way of a good night of baseball? We are UNDERWAY at the corner of Carnegie and Ontario, with Tanner Bibee🅱️ taking the mound for the good guys, making his third start against Detroit for the year. A pair of balls in play and a strikeout makes it a clean 1-2-3 inning to start the game. José Ramirez🐐 prevents a no hitter thanks to a first inning double, but no more movement on the base paths for the Guards. A walk for the Tigers? No problem, let’s begin with the double plays again (and another strikeout!).

Another inning, another 2 out double, this time courtesy of Daniel Schneeman⛄️ in his first AB of the evening. No runs *yet.* A group of singles and a sac fly gets Detroit on the board, but Bibee limits the damage to 1. *is that postseason Rocchio beginning to appear?* Brayan Rocchio🪨 leads off the inning with a double, and Steven Kwan👑 moves him to third with a groundout, before THE PROMISED MAN IS HERE!!! 2-1, courtesy of a George Valera🩼 BOMB! A 1/30 unicorn bomb at that!

Bibee keeps battling through the Tigers, and despite some more action on the base paths, holds them at 1 on the scoreboard. Defense shoutout, they’re cooking tonight. Nothing from the bats, but the defense stays locked in for the fifth (nice roll Arias lmao) and Bibee FINALLY has a quick-ish 1-2-3 inning.

*I think it is him…* Rocchio slaps a nice single to center and immediately steals second base… shit if he’s stealing, the postseason man is definitely here. Kwan comes through again, with an RBI single to left for a 3-1 Guards lead on the night. We have broken into the pen. Bibee returns for the sixth, and allows a single… but also cooks. Tanner Bibee ends his night with a final line of 6IP, 5H, 1R, 2BB, and 5K on 105(63) pitches. Our bats stay quiet.

arms out bullpen the Break! Tim Herrin🐟 leads the way tonight, and only makes is all clench a little, retiring two and leaving one on for Hunter Gaddis☠️ to enter the game and deal with. Strikeout will do it. The bats threaten in the seventh with a leadoff Schnee walk and a CJ Kayfus🦞 single, and a Postseason Rocchio (he’s here) brings on Will Vest to try and salvage the situation. Meet José Ramirez🐐. 5-1 lead in the seventh. Jakob Junis🪲 enters the game and sits em down 1-2-3 with a pair of strikeouts.

HI PAUL SEWALD🌊!!! Bo Naylor🏹 slaps a leadoff single, but the nest three all get sat down. Junis reappears for the ninth, and gets a nifty groundout a shallow popout, before allowing a single… horseman time. K’d Smtih🐴 enters the game with one to go… and that’s a groundout. BOOK IT! THE CLEVELAND GUARDIANS WANT AN OCTOBER TO REMEMBER!!!

  2. These last few weeks have been some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching baseball. Truly a September to remember.

  3. Who would’ve thought this would be a chance at back to back ALC Champions and playoff appearances. Vogt we shouldn’t have ever doubted you!

  4. I guess if you have a long losing streak it’s best to have it early and not late 🤷🏼‍♂️

  5. The vindication of believing in George Valera like 5 years ago has paid off. This team is special

  6. Watching Rocchio get hyped for drawing a walk is all I needed to see. This team wants this so bad

Don’t feel bad for the Tigers tomorrow. Go for blood tomorrow and put this shit to bed

  7. Valera saying he was waiting for a “home run pitch”…

Yeah, he’ll fit in here just fine.

  8. Cade Smith walking off the mound after two pitches without cracking so much as a smile… That dude is unflappable

  9. Someone get in a time machine, go back to July, and tell me how much fun I’d be having watching this team in September.
