Rockies vs. Mariners Game Highlights (9/24/25) | MLB Highlights
Pretty simple. The Mariners win tonight and they win their first division title since 2001. It was back in 2022. The Mariners went out and made the biggest splash at the deadline. They acquired luis Castillo from the Cincinnati Reds. It was Castillo who became the Mariners ace and game one starter that year in the postseason. And with that in mind may be fitting in some ways. It is luis Castillo himself who is up on the mound tonight here in Seattle with a chance to pitch the Mariners to a division championship. Devastating slider moniak strikes out back foot breaking ball. Nice start for Castillo Goodman. A high ride out to right field. Victor Robles waits for a while. Two outs. Castillo has been incredible at home this year. A 2.71 a T mobile park average of just barely over 200 against him here in Seattle. Shallow right field coming in. Robles is there waving his arms , calling for victor is there and he makes the two that’s going to retire the side and 123 go the Rockies here in the top of the first inning Cal Raley sitting on 58 home runs on the season, more than any Mariner in a single year and he’s having the kind of season where if you’re at the ballpark or you’re listening on the radio, you can’t take your eyes off. Only Judge Marris and Babe Ruth have ever had more in American League history and that you talk about a no Doubter over the hit it here. Cafe into the upper tank in right field, a historic home run for Cal Raley. Cal has become the eighth player in this ballpark history to homer to the upper deck. One of eight to ever go upper tank right field at T Mobile Park. One of the great takeaways from Cal’s historic season is the variety of home runs that he has hit and obviously being a switch hitter just amplifies that, but that was one of a kind on Cal and Hooli do. The Mariners want to win the West. You better believe it number 32 for Julio. Oh my goodness. That was a rocket swinging a drive deep down the right field line line shot. Goodbye. Baseball, Jorge Polanco with a line drive home run down the right field line, three home runs for the Mariners here in the bottom of the first and the Mariners are racing to the finish line to grab the top spot in the American League West. The party has started early tonight for the Mariners canzone leaves it off three home runs for the Mariners in the first inning. Second time this season, the Mariners have hit three homers in an inning. This is on the barrel splits. The gap finds the base of the wall cam zone is into second base. He’s got himself a stand up double. That ball was tacked. This game has that feel to it. It’s kind of like a, like a celebration game or whatever it may be. Last night, you come in, you, you come home after the day off after a big series in Houston takes you a little bit to get going. Maybe you’re pressing a little bit. We gonna try and clinch that playoff spot and now we know, I mean, they’re in the driver’s seat right now. Take care of these Colorado Rockies check swing and that hit him. So Vic roll this, checking his swing was hit by a pitch and the Mariners have two on with two outs. Now here in the bottom of the second that will bring up Cal Riley. Well, he just kind of gets a piece and lobs this into the corner. It skims all the way to right field can zone scores head down. Sprint. Victor Robles touches home. Two runs are in Cal Raley with a double down the right field line scores two Moore. He’s an already what a night for Cal with a home run, a double and three runs batted in Rockies do not have a hit so far tonight , the last two outings for Castillo against the Rockies were dominant seven innings of shutout baseball and just two hits in each of his last two outings against Colorado centerfield well hit and this one’s gone again. Blane, Crim Blakes up, the no hitter breaks up the shutout with a home run to dead center. His fifth in 11 ball games for the Rockies also extends his streak to eight games. That ball just kept going. Crawford with a base hit. The Mariners have him on the corners for the top of the order. The opposite way Saline back on the track and the catch is made. Robles Waltz’s home. It’s a sacrifice fly from a Rose arena. 6 to 1. Mariners. Look at Naylor sailors here like it most popular man in Seattle. Not named Cal Raleigh is Josh Naylor ground ball up the middle center field base hit JP Crawford a one way ticket at home. He scores standing and the Mariners just keep at it is 7 to 1. Josh Taylor drives in the latest Mariners closing in on a division title. Luis Castillo has been brilliant season high nine strikeouts for Luis Castillo. He has been dealing all night long. He’s retired 20 of the 20 he has seen tonight shaping up to be one of the best starts of the year for Castillo swung on and missed, pulls it by him. 96 that Castillo Flex strikeout number 10 on a brilliant night for luis Castillo. There’s two way. Here comes Geno Gito at the los. We saw some big swings on the road. We said we talk about being inconsistent. The swinging messes up a little bit, man. You do that. Maybe it just takes that one swing to get some of that consistency was carried out there to right field number 48 for Eugenio Suarez. What? Shy of a career best? We’re talking about Gina getting going. It’s been a rough stretch, big fly. So two way and here comes Cal Raley and everybody rising to their feet all at one time, they’re looking for even more history. Swinging to drive deep to right field. Number 60. The modern day bam Beetle, a catcher has hit 60. You change. How about that? His name is even with Babe Ruth. He has connected the past with the present and has stayed in ovation for the modern day Bam Beetle. Cal Raley, his mom and dad, his family here at the ballpark. Tonight, we go back to the last time they won the A L West title. That would be 2001. Dan Wilson behind the dish six scoreless from jamie Moore. Boone catches that one and there they are the A L West champs on this historic night on a Wednesday evening, September the 24th, the Mariners one out away from an American League West division title in Seattle. You’ve won it’s time to party like it’s two one. The Mariners are the 2025 American League West champions just speechless. You know, this is what we’ve been working so hard for and we know the city is dying for and we’re so happy that you guys are here to see it. I love this team. I love the city. I love my parents. Thank you for being here. I just, I’m so happy for our guys. We’re going to celebrate tonight and, you know, like I said, we’re gonna, we’re not done yet. Most people heard what I said last night, you know, might as well win the whole thing and we have high expectations. It was never this year to make the playoffs or get the wild card, which is great, but we wanted to win the division and get the highest seed possible. We, we feel like we’re going to the World Series. We, there’s a lot of work to be done, but that’s the expectations we have. I was just thinking, what was it the be like? Wow, like there’s a, there’s a lot of kids that hasn’t seen this from this, you know, I felt for them and I was like, wow, do something special and like we’re embracing like it and we definitely, right and we’re definitely, you know, we’re definitely gonna go play hard and try to achieve the greatest thing that we can do in this game. Can’t take these guys enough. What an incredible group they fought hard the entire season and you guys have been there every step of the way. Thank you for turning T Mobile into one of the loudest ballparks in this league. They fought hard, they fought strong and we got a lot of more fun baseball ahead of us. So stay with us.

So lucky to be there. Cal’s 60th was electric.
Absolute Cinema 🔱
For the first time since 2001 the Mariners have won the West. No primary Catcher had ever hit 50 Home Runs in a season through the entire history of MLB until this year and not only has Cal hit 50, he's now hit 60. What he is doing has never been done and will never be done again. That is the MVP.
