Brewers vs. Padres Game Highlights (9/24/25) | MLB Highlights

Four games left to play for the Padres and things are up for grab. Let’s check out the standings after a Dodgers loss last night , the division is still within reach. The Padres are just a game and a half back of L A. The Cubs also lost. So the top wild card spot is also up for grabs. Also a game and a half back. They just have to win. Everything else is out of their control. They got to win here at home where they played very, very well on the mound for the San Diego. Padres is Dylan C things are rolling for the San Diego club and for Dylan 32nd start his 16th at home. He has faced every major league team in his career trying to lower the, er, a christian Jelic Digs in leading off for a third consecutive game and a ground ball to the left side. Tough play. Bogaerts gets rid of it. One can’t pick it, will it trickle into the dugout, it will , it will be an extra 90 ft for Christian Jelic. She didn’t field single and Then an E six that ball away from tough play for any first baseman runner in scoring position. Jackson Chur trying to find his swing. He’s in the middle of an 0 to 18 strikes out. Chur first strikeout of the day for Dillon. That’s the fastball coming in at 96 two outs and no score in the top of the first inning as the Milwaukee first baseman andrew Vaughn stands in sharply hit to the backhand. Bogaerts has got it. His throw is perfect is over. Jelic gets left at second. Padres are coming up. Chad Patrick working on three days rest started on Saturday in ST Louis 56 pitches in that 14 and a third gave up five hits, two earned runs riding a 12 game hitting streak into today’s action line into center field making it a 13 game hitting streak base hit his first A B of the afternoon one to two on Machado swinging in a miss. He got him. That’s the cutter strikeout for Chad Patrick Jackson Merrill and he struck him out. There’s that breaking ball from Chad Patrick, that spike grip goes straight down, gets a swing and miss on Merrill first walked by looking to score first for the fourth straight game. They got to rise at second. Shes at first two down here in the Padres first innings. Last hit was an infield single in the second inning. August 27th in Seattle. Fly ball, center field goes, Chur on the warning track leaping and he brought it back. Jackson Chur took three runs off the board, takes a home run away from Xander Bogaards. What a play from Chio and we are still tied at zero. We go to the second in free to lead things off for the Brewers. That is strike three gets him looking the fastball at 98 frozen and it’s the second strikeout of the day for Dillons. Caleb Durbin will bat strike three. Gets him looking slider again back to back for Dillon. He may have gotten a call here. It’s another slider. It’s off the plate. Thank you. Here’s jake Bowers, the left fielder Bowers down the right field line. This one’s got some carry, it’s off the top of the wall. Bowers digging for two and the throw is off line from Lorean. It’s a double for jake Bowers. He has been impressive. Jake Bowers just missed a home run by a couple of feet, ninth double of the year for Bowers. And now here’s andrew Monasterio , a swing of the, he struck him out four seam fastball scoreless from Sano has been a great addition for this Padres lineup. Two two is a check swing foul. Another fastball kind of riding up and in check out where this foul ball off his finger. We knew he got in on that cutter but didn’t realize it hit him on the fingers and the pitch and he froze him breaking ball upper inside corner, loo, no argument from him. He strikes out looking this inning off of the to center still at first with two down, one for six so far in the series , one ball and two strikes on for the pitch swing and a miss, he struck him out a couple of strikeouts in a scoreless second inning for Chad Patrick. He’s got four strikeouts on the afternoon scoreless as we head to the top of the third and Bryce Johnson has taken over in right field for Padres defensively seem to hurt himself on a swing. Remember that in that he fouled off and Then after this swing, he shakes his right hand, grimaces gets checked out in the dugout. Ricky Huerta going through some strength exercises on that hand and visibly in pain. Danny Jansen very patiently works a leadoff walk, either a strikeout or a weak grounder. Let the defense work for you here. Three, two back to the mound will throw to second pick by the first. Will be late. Nice play by Xander Bogard says that one was spiked to second base. They do get the lead runner dropped down by Chur and a high throw to first and he’s safe and rise came down awkwardly as well. Hopefully he’s ok. Dylan having trouble throwing to bases. Luis can only jump so high. He’s got to leave the bag and no , it was ruled a sacrifice and an E one on the throw and you get Bryce Tang coming up next left side diving his progress with the back hand, he flips, they got Pat Murphy says challenge. It’s a big call in this game. It looks safe by a lot in real time. Take another look, great play by Bogut is a great play to save a run for sure. Keeps it in the infield and Then backhand flips it over runner is safe. Successful challenge for Pat Murphy. So that will load the bases at third chio at second Tang at first opportunity here for andrew Vaughn to do some damage. One out in the inning. Vaughn one hopper to second one on the 1st 643 on the out of the jam is getting the for scoreless and a leadoff walk in the bottom of the third inning, Manny Machado who struck out swinging in the first inning and he got him again. Perfect execution. Fifth strikeout for Chad Patrick , the rise at first with one out for Jackson Merrill. He struck out in the first runner goes swing and a miss throw to second base is going to be in time to strike him out, throw him out double play. Patrick gets out of the inning. Great throw from Danny Jansen and a perfect pitch executed by Chad Patrick back to back two away here for Bryce into left field base hit for Bryce Tang. He’s got two hits on the day and it’s an opportunity for Vaughn again. Vaughn hit with the bases loaded in the third with one away that’s in the dirt going to get by Fermin. He doesn’t know where it is. Tang is going to take third base and Fermin picked it up if he lets that ball roll and it rolls into the dugout. The umpires send Tang back to second base at the time of the, if it goes out of play, it’s only one base. So that’s a huge 90 ft that Tang takes, trying to break the scoreless, tie it down the left field line fair ball. The Brewers strike first Vaughn into second base with an RB I double. It’s 1 to 0. Milwaukee. What a big hit from Andrew Vaughn and just an exceptional approach. Brewers finally get that big hit with a man in scoring position. This will be 100 pitches for Dylan C and A pop up right side. Kron shing his eyes will make the catch and ends the inning but the Brewers get a run, take a 10 lead two down in the sixth inning for Jackson Merrill Merrill, like Machado has struck out every time he’s come to bat today. 12 in the air to left field. That’s well struck. Power is back into the corner at the wall. This one to go. Jackson Merrill puts it over the little wall in left field and opposite field homer to tie this game 11 in the bottom of the sixth. This ball slicing slicing fair. Oh yeah, he put it in the basket tied at one stolen base for Chur with two down in the inning. It’s in a scoring position and a guy who can handle the bat well into turang at the plate runner goes line back up the middle of base hit Turio will score and the Brewers regain the lead with two strikes. Bryce Tang does it again for the Brewers. He’s come through all season long with big hits, Big RBIs. He does so again against a tough lefty Adrian Morejon first real rally of the day for the Padres first time all day. They had two hits in the same inning. Sacrifice is complete to third, not going to get the opportunity to load the bases that creates a force at the plate. Also a potential double play with freddie Fermin. Chance of Freddie starting to rain down on slaughter at the bottom of the zone and Chad Fair child rings him up and mike Schilt is coming out. Fermin has some things to say, not happy and Schilt coming out to get him and now one of them has been tossed said I didn’t say anything to you. So I guess Schult got tossed. He was coming out there to protect Fermin is what he’s saying. Obviously, you’re not allowed to come out and argue balls and strikes. As a manager bases still loaded , here’s a rise ball right center. It will be Sal Frelich giving way to Chur at the last moment. And Meares works his magic and gets out of the jam. Here’s Danny Jansen base. Hit a walk today. Also struck out one out of two Jansen a drive to left. If it’s fair, it’s going to be gone. It is a fair ball off the metal supply company and a huge home run for Danny Jansen. What a bomb his second in a Brewers uniform. And that a huge breath of fresh air. Big insurance run, big swing by Danny Jansen and Uribe on to try to convert the save. He’s five out of seven. He’s been brilliant so far this year. Two down for Jake Cron got him. He threw a slider. Uribe puts it in the holster and the Brewers have matched their franchise record with 96 wins and the magic number, the best record in baseball is down to one.

  1. This team is different. The pitching is stellar and deeper than in previous years. And the defense is amazing. Jansen is coming on to spell at catcher, which was a concern.

  2. Top 3rd that play on second base was cleared safe i dont know why those pathetic fans booing about😂….I dont go for either team but what is right is right they should be quite

  3. one win out of 3 against the reds will secure a franchise season win record for the b-crew, tying has happened this many times> The Milwaukee Brewers' record for most wins in a season is 96, which was achieved in the 2011, 2018, and 1979 seasons

  4. You can see how good teams win. Get a guy on base, steal 2nd and get a base hit, 1 run scores. I wish the Yankees would steal more and do more hit and run plays and not just try to hit freaking home runs. The Brewers are going to be a hard team to beat in the playoffs, but it will be a great series to watch.
