The Mets pulled off the most dramatic win of the year last night at one point down, five runs, they came back to beat the Cubs 9 to 7. You got three teams , New York Cincinnati Arizona all basically fighting for the one spot. The last 10 starts have been kind of a bit of a struggle for him and you have to wonder about fatigue because he’s had a career high and innings pitched. Matthew Boys retired the first two and now Alonso and he’s on a nine game hitting streak, the swing and a Miss strike three slow curveball got him strikeout for Matthew Boyd. No score at the end of a half inning Cubs coming up, Jon Nat, his biggest start in a very, very young career. His debut was great. His next next two starts, not so great, but he really bounced back in that last start against San Diego, facing Michael Bush left hand, this ball to the gap that one is going to get down and it’s heading to the Michael Busch with 22 doubles. Pulls into second. Puts a runner in scoring position to start at the bottom of the first. Here against Jonah Tong. Now brings up a guy who’s looking for a batting title. Nikko Horner that was close. Vientos backs up, backhand throws to first gets away from Alonso. A run scores. It goes into the protective Armstrong will go down to second base and the Cubs have a 7 to 2 lead. He’s got a strong arm but he rushes it and misses Lowe and he can’t pick this one out and a run scores and he continues, it’s an E five all the way in the dirt gets under the glove of Alvarez goes to the back, Armstrong to third. He scores Armstrong all the way around from second base as the ball went to the backstop under Alvarez’s glove and nobody was at the plate for Armstrong. See that essentially raised Holmes to the plate and beat him. Matthew Boyd has gone the distance. He’s allowed only three hits in the game and a little check swing. Excuse me, that’s it out from SOTO has him off balance zero for three for one will head to the mound. This might be the end of the night for Matthew Boyd. He pitched another good game, excellent game. In fact, good to see this guy on the mound. Daniel Palencia reinstated for the Cubs from the 15 day. I swing strike three and it’s out number three.
