Twins vs. Rangers Game Highlights (9/24/25) | MLB Highlights

All right, Jacob Deg Grom on the mound for his final start of 2025. He comes in with a record of 12 wins and eight losses and a 3.01 earned run average. This will be his 30th start of the year. He has thrown his most innings since 2019. He’s made his most starts since 2019. Buckston a 263 hitter with 31 homers, 77 runs batted in. Well hit to center field. hit well sending Helman back to the wall that is gone and Byron Buckton with a leadoff home run and the Twins strike quickly and a Texas buck truck sighting one batter in. It is one- nothing Twins. Byron Buckton had gone 11 games without a home run. His longest home run drought of the season and he blasts number 32 to straightaway center field. And now Cody Clemens swings and he hits one high in the air to deep center field. Helman going back on this ball right at the base of the fence. He makes the catch as his back kisses up against the wall. 47 ft away from home plate. The pitch swung on and missed. He struck him out on a change up and there are two outs. Jeffers has been swinging it pretty well recently. That little tapper should be an easy out. And it is a leadoff homer by Byron Buckton. And we go to the bottom of the first. Twins one Rangers nothing. Bradley has never beaten Texas. Four starts against Texas. 0 and2 with a 503 earned run average. Jock hit the leadoff homer last night for the Rangers. His ninth home run of the year. And strikes him out on three pitches. And so Bradley erases Peterson with the breaking ball. So one down. Bradley has a big strong rounded shoulders. He delivers a big swinging miss and Smith is down on strikes. Backto back strikeouts for Taj Bradley. 01 is in the air to right field. Right fielder Larnick backs up, leans down, makes the catch and that is a quick one, two, three inning turned in by Kai Bradley. Twins have a one- nothing lead as Rowdy TZ will bat lead off here in the Rangers second. TZ swings and misses and he’s taken his rowdy nature back to the dugout. Third strike out already for Bradley. Man, this curve ball is just unhitable. Yeah, that’s four Ks on that pitch. Four out of five. And there’s a swing and a miss. This time a cutter and three straight strikeouts for Taj Bradley. Man, Deg Grom back to work here on Ryan Fitzgerald. And there’s a swing and a miss. Another strike out for Deg Grom, his fourth. Here’s the 3-2 check swing and that pitch on the outside corner for a called third strike. A delayed strike mechanic there by Emil Hernz, but Alman caught looking for the second out of the inning. Two- two pitch and he got him chasing the change up. Deg Grom strikes out the side in the third. Helman batting ninth in the order, hitting .241 for the year. Five homers, 19 runs batted in. Helman swings and loops one down the left field line. A long run for Clemens. This one’s dropping and it lands fair. Barehanded by Clemens. His throw to second. Not in time. Helman dives in safely with a looping double just inside the left field line. The first hit, the first base runner for the Rangers tonight. He’s aboard for Jo Peterson. And the first offering from Bradley bounces in. It kicks away from Jeffers and Helman scoots on down to third. So a wild pitch will put Helman 90 ft away as the Rangers are looking to at the very least draw even here. Smack to center, but James Helman will come in a few steps and squeeze it and Helmet left at third base and Bradley three scoreless so far. Twins by one. Clemens at first base after walking. First walk for Deg Grom and now Lick Cody takes off. Swinging a miss throw to second base and no chance. Clemens has his fifth stolen base of the year. Pitch it kicks to the back stop and that’s going to allow Clemens to advance to third base. Wild pitch. Third issue this year by Deg Gro. Degro’s two. A swing and a miss. He got him. Lick strikes out. One away. The payoff pitch. Swing and a miss. He got him. A weak hack at a slider. And that is the eighth strike out for Jacob Deg Grom. That’s in the air out toward right center field. Helman on the run after it. He’ll make the catch. And Deg Grom gets out of the inning. They had a runner at third and nobody out and did not score. One- nothing the Twins lead as we hit the bottom of the fourth. Josh Smith first up against Taj Bradley. Smith got underneath this one. Deep out to right field. Lick near the wall. Leaps. It’s gone. Well, they got a fast ball and a fast ball count at three and one. That ball carried very well. Josh Smith in double digits with his 10th home run of the year and he’s tied this game up at one. And back to first base goes Julia with two outs and a runner at first and the game tied at one. James Outman is coming up. The pitch is swung on and missed. The runner goes. Throw to second base. He is out at second base. Perfect throw by Jonah to Josh Smith. He cuts down Eddie Julian to end the inning. The Gro’s erra is 297 for the year. Hey, one-1 tie here. Top of the order for the Rangers. Pitch count 72. Good shape for Taj Bradley. And a swing and a miss here by Jock on a curve ball down. Seven strikeout for Bradley. Struck him out with a high cutter. So backto-back strikeouts. Eight now for Bradley. And there are two down. One, two, check swing and a swing and TZ rung up at third base and Bradley strikes out three. Nine punch outs for Taj. So Zeke getting an opposite field, two strike hit. Rangers have a go-ahead run on board here with one out and it’s now one and0. Runner going on the delayed steel. Snap throw from Jeffers and it’s not quite in time. So the count one and one to McKenna, but he now has a runner in scoring position. on one and that’s out into left field. That’s a base hit. The stolen base by Durant allows Beasley to send him to the plate and he scores. RBI single by Billy McKenna. That’s got to feel great for him as he puts the Rangers in front. Two to one. Shoots that one out over third base. That’s a base hit. McKenna is going to have to stop. He’ll hold at third on the Hind single. The 1-1. And this one gets by. Jeff coming down the line. McKenna. He scores standing up. Moving to second is Jonah. A wild pitch yields another run and the Rangers lead it three to one. So the intentional walk with a runner at second and two outs made sense and that walk not good as they’re now 90 ft away from home with that extra run in Hind. All right, here’s Young and this pitch gets by Jeffers all the way to the back stop. Coming in from third is Jonah. The other runners advance as well. Oh, yet another wild pitch that produces a run. That’s happened twice this inning and the Rangers lead four to one. Two balls and no strikes to Julian. Pitch is on the way and he hits this one well to right center field. McKenna chasing after it. It’s over his head. It bounces off the wall in front of the bullpen. Julian steaming into second base and Eddie Julian with his second hit of the ball game. A double to start the eighth. Great start for the Twins. His 10th double. And now Roy, he’s d 0 for two tonight. 0 for seven in the series. and Lewis up the middle with a base hit to center. Julian rounding third heading home. The throw in from Helman is offline and cut off. And that’s an RBI single from Lewis. And the Twins are down by only two. And Phil Mton on the mound trying to nail down his third save with the Rangers and his fifth save overall, including his time with St. Louis. That one is lined out to left field. Suna adjusts his route, makes the catch one away. He kicks and fires and he struck him out swinging. Got him on the curve. Two outs in the ninth. Rangers leading by the score of four to2. And it’s up to Ryan Jeffers to try and keep this game going for the Twins. The 3-2 and that’s a bouncer. Third base. Young has it. Good throw across the diamond. And this one is over. The ball game’s over and so is the eight-game losing streak as the Rangers defeat the Twins tonight four-2.

  1. Good win, boys. Nice finish to deGrom's stellar season. I never thought he'd make 30 starts but he did and I couldn't be happier. Here's to a healthy 30+ start 2026.
