49ers BREAKING: Brock Purdy RETURN good news | Ricky Pearsall knee status

This should be music to 49ers fans ears. Brock Perie looks to be on good track to return and start for the 49ers on Sunday here at Levi Stadium against Jacksonville. Even working on a customized handshake with Brian Robinson Jr. Speaking of Robinson, there’s another one that is Demarcus Robinson who’s set to make his 49ers debut on Sunday. He returned to practice today following a three-game suspension to open this season. There was a little worry about the receiver position earlier when Kyle Shanahan said that Ricky Pierol would not practice today, but we spoke with Ricky in the locker room and he assured everyone that if there were a game today, he would be playing. It’s feeling good. Actually, I don’t even know when I hurt my knee. Um to to be completely honest, I felt a little bit of soreness after the game and it wasn’t until later on in the night. I was kind of moving around and felt a little soreness. Nothing that I was, you know, really concerned about. um came in the next day and was, you know, talking to the trainers and I told him the same thing I’m telling you right now is, you know, I’m not really concerned, but I just want to check it out a little bit. And, you know, that’s kind of what I’m dealing with is it’s just a little bit of soreness and I’m not worried about it. There was a game today out there and I can confirm that Ricky Pearl was moving around very well on the practice field. Had a sleeve around his knee, but he was working off on the side with Christian McAffrey who had the vet day off today. And there looked to be no change in speed and in cutting ability from Ricky Piol versus where he was last week. So precautionary indeed for Ricky Pierol. 49ers will get Demarcus Robinson back to pair with Ricky Piol. And Jawan Jennings, although he did miss practice today, was close to playing last week according to Kyle Shanahan. And because of that, he remains day-to-day this week. And I think uh I would also expect Joan Jennings to be out there when the 49ers play Jacksonville. So Brock Perie should have a very well stocked receiving court compared to what the 49ers have had in recent weeks and I think San Francisco will need it. Jacksonville leads the NFL with seven interceptions. They’ve got a nice pass rush that features the former 49er Eric Armstead who played here for nine seasons. Armstead the homecoming. He’ll be motivated heading back to Levi Stadium. Of course, the 49ers offensive tackles and guards will have to worry about him because he’s a versatile rusher, but it’s the edge guys who are truly scary on this Jacksonville team. Josh Hines Allen, Trayvon Walker. Big test coming up for the 49ers against the number two ranked defense in the NFL. Can take you through the rest of the 49ers practice participation report. No, Jordan Watkins with his calf injury. I think the 49ers probably still weighing whether or not to put him on injured reserve. Remember, there are limited amount of return from IR spots. So, you’ve got to be careful with that. Even if Jordan Watkins is going to miss more than the minimum of four games for injured reserve rest days for McCaffrey and Trent Williams. CJ West did not practice. He had the thumb surgery yesterday. They hope to maybe get him back later this week in a cast, but uh CJ West was not expected out there today. Maintenance day for you Gross Mats and his knee as has been common on these Wednesdays. And obviously Nick Bosa didn’t practice. He’s not yet officially on injured reserve, but that move will come at some point soon. Perie and M. Jones both officially listed as limited. Kyle Shanahan actually said that all three QBs would get first team snaps this week. That’s Pertie Jones and Adrien Martinez from Hanford, California, born in the 559. Renardo Green limited with his neck injury. Connor Colby limited with his groin injury. As you might imagine, 49ers players in that locker room still disappointed, torn up even about Nick Bosa’s torn ACL. I mean, Nick does everything the right way. He is the hardest worker there is. It’s impossible to outwork Nick Bosa and he put so much time and effort into this. Fred Warner spoke a little bit at his locker and I thought Fred was getting a little emotional. I mean, I’m sick. I’m so sick for him. Uh, you know, because um, you know, he he knows what that’s like to go through that process, right, of of a of a recovery from that injury, which I know he’s fully capable of, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Um, obviously it’s a huge blow to our team, but we move forward. Um, I I hate to say next man up mentality because you can’t just replace him with one player. Um, but you know, the the mission is still the same. We’re going to find a way to make make uh to get one win this week and uh we’ll figure out the rest later. Christian McAffrey also shared his thoughts on the replacement effort underway for the 49ers with Nick Bosa. I mean, anytime, you know, somebody like that goes down, uh, you need so many guys to replace them. So, um, VI’s been pretty urgent. You know, when you lose somebody like that, it’s uh the whole team needs to step up and give you something to play for. You know, we’ll always have him in in the front of our minds when we’re out there playing. And you know, speaking of the replacement effort, Bryce Huff is going to be counted on to handle a larger snap load along with Sam Okawanu, who I talked to in the locker room today. Big opportunities for both players. Bryce is in a good spot this year. He’s a top five graded edge rusher to begin the season, but he really enjoys the vibe in that 49ers locker room. Yeah, I feel like it is fun, you know, especially being in the room with all my guys and being able to chop it up with the interior and edge guys. Um, and you know, just working hard every day together. It really helps build that bond. So, it definitely is a fun time. And then, of course, talked to Ricky Pierol who did say that if there were a game today here at Levis’s, he would be playing. On top of that, Ricky talked about his customized handshake with Kendrick Bourne. You know, Brock Pie’s working on a customized handshake with Brian Robinson Jr., You could probably trace the origin of that back to Kendrick Bourne setting up customized handshakes with just about everybody. But Rick Ricky and Kendrick Bourne, I know I wrote a ton about these two guys over the course of the past few days with Kendrick saying he’s him in the locker room after the game on Sunday. Here’s what what Ricky had to say about the customized handshake. I don’t know. It was very early on and it was just really natural. I mean, I saw the energy that he was bringing in practice and he was dancing everywhere. I kind of like doing it. I like bringing energy and dancing. So, you know, it was a really quick, easy handshake that we made. Is Is dancing involved in the handshake? Oh, yeah. Yeah. I I mean, I would describe it as dancing. I hope I can dance a little bit. Do you have handshakes with other other teammates or is he the only No, I got handshakes with other teammates. I got a handshake with Juice. Uh I got one with Jacob Cowan. I got one with Hank. I’m trying to get one with Kyle. We’ll see if that’s going to work out. So in summary, the 49ers trying to adapt to life without Nick Bosa. And the first step in being able to do that will be to increase the explosive play rate offensively, improve the run game offensively, which I think is going to be tied to the explosive pass rate on that side of the football. And the way that you do that is you return some of the talent. And Demarcus Robinson coming back this week will help for sure. Brock Pury on track to come back this week can help as well against the good Jacksonville pass rush. Uh you look at the Joan Jennings potential return. All these things can help start picking up some of the slack for the 49ers defensively. Robert Solid going to have to be creative as possible. I talked a lot about this with Greg Papa on the radio. this. I’ve been in touch with Greg throughout the entire ordeal here over the past couple months, ever since the cancer diagnosis became public. We’ve obviously been keeping him in our prayers. He is feeling well enough now to be back on the radio. And today was my first ever interview with Greg Papa. And here’s one thing I really get want you guys to answer. Greg Papa and I are thinking about on my YouTube channel, what you’re watching right now. We’re thinking about starting to break down some 49ers tape together now that he’s feeling better. I wanted to make sure to give Greg his space. But he came to me with the idea if you would like to see shows where Greg and I break down some tape. Maybe even with some guest appearances from Tim Ryan, we got to hit up Tim, see if he’d be interested. But Greg and I for sure you want to see that on the YouTube channel, let me know in the comment section. I mean, leave a lot of comments. Let’s let’s get that support out to Greg because I think that uh that would really put some wind at his sales. He was already excited to do it. Anyway, here is my interview with Greg Papa and Greg Silver on KMBBR talking about all of these 49ers happenings. Continue to improve it and we can do that right now as we have made the connection with him on the UMA guest line, David Lombardi. Good to talk to you again, David. And I know that uh you know it’s nice to have one Greg, but really the other Greg is very very excited to hear from you. So, happy week four. How’s it going? Yeah, it’s great. Great to have Greg Squared back in the equation. I’ve been staying in touch with uh with the other Greg there. How are you, Greg? I I haven’t heard from him yet. I’m doing well. Doing well, David. You’ve been reaching out to me from the very beginning. Hope you and Marggo are are doing well. And um we’re doing well. We’re uh we’re cancer free in between uh treatments right now. So, I’m back to go on the radio show. So, able to talk ball for a while. So, it’s great to have you back. and you’ve been out there as a loving supporter from the very beginning, brother. So, I love you and love love Margot. So, uh but let’s get into it. Um just, uh your your thoughts on, you know, how they adjust and you’ve written a lot about it, uh minus Bosa. I know you’re high on Bryce off. Um and you got a lot of thoughts about how Salah will change things, but um you watch as much of the all 22 as I do, if not more. Um Bryce off, you talk about wide nine, he’s out there at wide 10, 11, 12. I mean, when you see him initially, sometimes it looks like he’s covering a slot wide receiver and there’s nobody in the slot. I mean, he gets way way out there and likes to run the hoop. As far as pure juice off the edge, he’s the one that’s most like Did you see the snap where he was over the A gap? Yeah, I saw that as Yeah, he’s he’s moving around everywhere. So, I mean, I’ve never seen even D4 didn’t line up as high as what you’re talking about. He’s way way out there. He’s been measured to have the quick get off in the NFL in in 2023 back when he was playing with Salah last and they were running a wide nine with the Jets. So, uh when you’ve got that kind of speed, that’s what the wide n’s about, right? You try to try to give that edge rusher a better angle to to showcase that really fast get off speed and run the hoop around the tackle. with Bosa done now. You know, they were using Huff a lot more than than they, I think, planned on using him in week two after Bosa went down. He, I thought, played the run decently well. That obviously still is his weakness relative to his pass rushing ability. Uh, David, I I want to get into and I’m not sure if the connection Hey David, I think the connection dropped there for a second. So, uh, just back up a a couple of sentences here and, uh, sorry about that. Yeah. Do you hear me? Yeah, we got you. Yeah. So, I think that, you know, he’s lining up all over the formation, but he he got a higher snap count this past game. That’s obvious something to expect because Bosa exited that game early. I thought he played the run decently well. Now, I’m not really sure if that’s going to be sustainable. They brought him in to be a pass rushing specialist 30 to 35% of the snaps. Can he be a guy that gives you 50 to 60% of the snaps? Maybe temporarily. Maybe the 49ers make a move. I know Sam Okawanu’s uh snap count went up drastically this past game. He had 42 of those snaps. So, he’s more I think of a three down player just as far as his weight and his ability to play the run. But, they’ve got to be really really encouraged by what they have from Bryce Up so far because it hasn’t been a precipitous drop off against the run uh so far and and and that pass rushing skill is everything that that was advertised. You know, I want to get into this whole existential questions, right? Cuz when we do talk radio, you can obviously look at the big picture and ask things like, “What’s there to prove?” or “What’s the 49ers identity?” And you made a note in the SF Standard that in the past when the 49ers have paired a top five offense with a top half defense, that’s been a recipe for success in past Shanahan led teams. So now that the offense is theoretically getting a little bit healthier and the defense just suffered a major loss in Nick Bosa, how do you anticipate the offense to evolve as they get some reinforcements and maybe carry more weight in this equation of complimentary football? Well, they’re really short on the explosives right now. And I know that everybody’s talking about Ricky Pieraw and the great catch that that he made up against the helmet. Great throw too from M. Jones on that fourth and two. That’s great, but they they still have have not uh generated the type of explosive play rate that they have in the past, even in 2024 when the offense wasn’t nearly as good as it was in 2023. And in this league, you need explosives to be an elite offense. And I think that there’s an easy explanation as to to why they haven’t generated those, and is because they’re very short-handed in the weaponry department. And you know, George KD’s going to be back in a few weeks. Brandon Iayuk should be back a few weeks. Joan Jennings might be back this week for the 49ers. And you know, nobody’s really talking about Demarcus Robinson, but that I think is especially at this time where Ricky Pierol was starting to get forcefed toward the end of that game against Arizona as the downfield option with Christian McCaffrey being more of the underneath option. But I think especially at this point in time, Demarcus Robinson can help open up some space for the 49ers, draw some defensive attention. And I think that’s what’s going to turn into more explosiveness for this pass game. And then by extension, you start loosening up some of the fiveman fronts and you start just getting into better position to run when uh you are truly prolific passing wise. I think it’s smart to play the 49ers the way that opposing defenses have been playing them. Coordinators have been uh m generally speaking just making either Brock Pie in week one or or M. Jones in weeks two and three used their arm to win and that’s why we’ve seen all these passing attempts for M. Jones. But at a certain point, if the 49ers continue seeing passing success and start generating more explosives in the pass game, we should start to see the rushing efficiency increase. And at that point, you could start talking about an elite offense again. And I think the overall formula has got to be for San Francisco, top half defense, top five offense. I mean, three of the past seven Super Bowl winners have not had top 10 defenses. It is not mandatory to have an elite defense to win a Super Bowl in this league, but if you don’t have one, you better have an elite offense, and that’s what the 49ers need to build to or build toward as as these guys come back healthy. Yeah, you know, as they do get healthy, I think you’ll see the explosives return. And um there’s no doubt about that. Um, as far as the the defense and and Salah, so you talked about the personnel, uh, and and how he does it individually, but just structurally, um, one thing about Salah, the the structure of the defense has changed. Uh, even when Bosa was here, uh, it’s not so much covered three, you’re seeing more, uh, varied coverages in the in the back end. A lot of two safety high. um that Mars defensive line where they’re using five defensive linemen um is more and more prevalent. The blitz uh specifically the the cat you know the the shark blitz from Kwan Williams and now upped and stout you know his propensity to blitz uh the first couple of games on on obvious passing situations David on third down played more zone against Kyler Murray. So just give me the breakdown, you know, when you thought Salah when he was here first time, covered three, you know, and then he got away from that a little bit. He blitzed more when when he lost Nick Bosa. So what you’ve seen from Salah say nine quarters into the year when he had Bosa, how he adjusted without Bosa based on what he did in 2020. Well, I rewind all the way back to 2019 as the first major year of the evolution. They started running a lot more cover four and quarters in in 2019. I thought that was a big part of that defense’s progression. They obviously were a really really good unit in in 2019. But you’re right, in 2020 the blitz rate went up minus Bosa and and we all remember Kwan Williams and and that Shark blitz that you talked about. I think that solid 2.0 now with the 49ers. He’s blitzing even more on third and fourth downs. I mean, especially that Seattle game, I think it was like six blitzes in in nine third or fourth downs or something like that. It was a very very high rate. We saw the dual linebacker blitz come in a few times there with D Winters and Fred Warner. I mean, they had a Warner Blitz dialed up on Sunday that I just thought was a really smart blitz and I was talking to a couple of the guys in the locker room about it after and it they were saying that that Salah very specifically targeted Kyler Murray’s lack of height on on the blitz and Fred Warner is 6’4 and they Solless charts all of this. He’s got a staff that that is looking in depth at spray charts exactly where Kyler’s going to throw, where that that first read is going to be and it was on the penultimate third down and you saw Fred Warner completely choked off the the the expected passing lane with his blitz. Kyler was looking right with his first read. It was a six-man blitz and you had Warner, even though he wasn’t designed to reach Kyler Murray because Kyler’s really quick and and Warner was on the back end of the Blitzers with his 6-4 height and his wingspan, he put his arms up and he batted that ball down because they knew that that the blitz blitzing action would coax the first free throw from Kyler and then they figured that if they had Warner blitzing from a specific angle, uh, they’d be able to to get a pass break up and that’s exactly what happened. So, I think that’s what solid 2.0 is all about. It is all about the nuances, the the refined angles of these blitzes. Yes, the the blitz rate has gone up. We get that they don’t have the 2019 defensive line anymore. It might have to go up again now w without Nick Bosa. But some of the small stuff, the intricacies that they’re doing on the back end. I think that’s what’s most exciting. And then you could go into the personnel packages beyond that that you know Jier Brown is the big nickel now. So they got small nickel and up and stout. Big nickel and Jier Brown base with Luke Gford. base didn’t even play against New Orleans. Gford was only on special teams, but Jaire’s package has grown to over 20 snaps. And I think it was by necessity. Arizona runs a lot of 13 personnel, three tight ends. I think that they wanted to counteract some of the receiving tight end game with the third safety or the big nickel package out there. But now on a week-to-eek basis, uh I think that we can see the 49ers show a lot of adaptability personnel-wise that they didn’t have before with Robert Salah. David Lombardi, the voice you hear of the SF standard. And you know, you did your grades from this last week and couple of areas of struggles, I think worth noting in week three and arguably weeks one and two at times too, were special teams in the offensive line. Now, special teams, they solved the kicking issue with Eddie Pierro coming in and obviously hitting that game winner, but things in terms of coverages, when to field punts, etc. still been a little bit sloppy. As far as the offensive line, you know, what can the NerS do against a really good Jaguars defense to overcome some of these early offensive line struggles because they have not just one, but they got two injured quarterbacks right now and M. Jones already was less mobile than Brock Pury. Then he was hobbled with the knee. And Brock Perie, if he comes back, you’d have to think not close to 100% of his full mobility that we were able to see in the first part of week one. We’ll see on Pertie’s mobility. I would actually think that if he’s not close to 100% then he won’t play. But but I think that he’s trending toward being really ready to go and if that’s the case then then he will play. I think the 49ers have actually earned the luxury of not having to force Brock Purie out there if if he’s not close to 100%. So we’ll see there. But the the point for the offensive line is is taken. I I think against Arizona, the big struggles were on the interior, especially with the the two guard positions, and it made sense. Connor Colby was coming off a groin injury on Thursday, making his first career start on Sunday, and the Cardinals decided to test it. I mean, they moved Josh Sweat, the edge rusher, over left guard there in the one of those early sequences, and he and he beat Colobby Clean on his way to to M. Jones. So, and I think Dominic Pun is still working his way back into the the form that we saw early last year. Remember, he got hurt week two of the preseason. Co Campbell, you you got to give it to him. I I I heard that he was calling out some of the plays the four at the line of scrimmage. And not because the the 49ers were telegraphing them, but because the guy you rarely see somebody with that wealth of knowledge, like 18 years of knowledge, even year 18 now, still physically capable of playing. So he’s like an encyclopedia. I think when the 49ers were running with M. Jones back there, I I doubt that that he was changing the cadence up too much. That’s usually a lot for a backup quarterback’s plate. So Klay Campbell was able to on the safety play that probably was improperly officiated. He was he was able to time up that snap count and and just blow by Dominic Pun. So the 49ers had to clean up that interior stuff. What’s interesting about this matchup against Jacksonville is that I think that their strongest pass rushing from the edge with Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker. And I think the 49ers tackles have been very good this year. Trent had the rough week one, but Trent’s doing fine at left tackle and and Colton McKibbus has taken yet another stride. I know people are going to replay that Josh Swep pressure on that early third down over and over, but he was rock solid for for most of the game beyond that. the pressure was coming against the interior. Then I’m sure you guys saw the the pancake that he had on the the Brian Robinson run later 20 yards down the field. So that’s strength on strength. 49ers tackles on the Jacksonville edge rushers. Now what Jacksonville might try to do is what Arizona did with Josh Swat and they might try to test Connor Colby with one of those edge rushers move kicking inside and and trying to get a rushing advantage there. That remains a concern for the 49ers. This is a big evolution I think for Shanahan in that he can really trust both of his tackles on on islands this year. They do have Eric Armstead inside and it’ll be a homecoming game for him. So, we’ll see what what he’s able to do and he’s part of the original gold rush when they had DeForest Buckner and Armstead and and D Ford and and Nick. Um, so Nick’s gone and you know all those guys are gone. Um, the word out and you you you pieced it. They’re not going to make any trade uh you know in late September. we’re talking, you know, later October um and assess it when we get close to the deadline. Um but Trey Hendrickson’s name is out there. We mentioned his name immediately when we heard about Bosa’s injury and um Tim Kawakami from the standard, your teammate wrote about it. Uh he wound up signing a one-year deal for $29 million. Um the cap hit is is high. Um but it would be prrated if you did it um you know, middle of the year, right around the deadline, David. Um, as far as cap space, uh, there are other names out there. You’ve mentioned Kavon Tibido. There’s a lot of names, uh, that could be available. Um, Bradley Chub in Miami. Um, do do you think they will do I mean, it’s Bosa we’re talking about here. Um, these, you’re not going to get a Bosa, but Hendrickson is that kind of player. In fact, an Ohio State Buckeye himself. Do you think in in a month’s time, five weeks time, when we get up against the deadline and the money can be prrated, you don’t have to pay Hendrickson anymore after this year, he’s a free agent next year. What would be the compensation going back to Duke Tobin and Mike Brown? Do you see um John trying to replace Boso with one of the elite guys in the NFL? Well, we have to see where these teams are, right? I don’t think it makes sense for either side of a potential trade on this date. As you mentioned, no team is in fire sail mode after week three, nor should they be. Crazy things happen in the NFL. So, you have to see where your fortunes take you into October. And I think it’s smart for the 49ers to see what they have like promote internally. Move up Robert Beal Jr. or Travis Gibson from the practice squad. They resigned William Bradley King to the practice squad uh yesterday. So, get a gauge for what Bryce Huff can do with an expanded role. Get a gauge for what Sam Okawanu can do in an expanded role. Get get a gauge for how this offense is going to pick up some of the slack as it gets healthier. Then, as the deadline approaches on November 5th, you’ll see is struggling. I mean, the Bengals are two and one right now. So, the Bengals owe it to their locker room to actually see what they have. Who knows? You know, Russell Wilson just got benched in in New York. He’s a Cincinnati native. May maybe he finds his way to Cincinnati to help pick up the slack QB wise. You know, a lot of moving variables, right? The reason that I mentioned Kavon Tibido the other day is because the Giants are 0 and three to begin the season. So, there’s a higher probability of that team entering excel mode. But Bosa is Bosa. He’s one of the best in football. Most pressures in the league since joining in 2019. Plays the run extremely well. an impossible player to make up for just one one for one unless you get a truly truly elite player like Miles Garrett. I think even Trey Hendrickson would be a slight step down in terms of overall play than than Nick Bosa. So the replacement effort is going to have to be a multiaceted thing. They’re going have to pick up slack at different parts of the roster. And if a trade does present itself, an opportunity does present itself that fits into the cap situation, you know, they’ve got an extra 7 million or so to play with because of the cap insurance that they that they took out, the policy they took out on Bosa’s contract. I’m I’m sure the 49ers will explore it. They’ve been very aggressive making trades throughout Win Shanahan’s entire tenure, and this is obviously one that would make sense under the right parameters. Yeah, I mean not even a month into the season and we already got so much to be analyzing and this is an ever evolving season with the 49ers already facing a fair share of adversity. David, thanks so much for coming by. It was great to have you on the Gregs again and I don’t know, it was very early on and it was just really natural. I mean, I saw the energy that he was bringing in practice and he was dancing everywhere. I kind of like doing it. I like bringing energy and dancing. So, you know, it was a really quick, easy handshake that we made. Is is dancing involved in the handshake? Oh, yeah. Yeah. I I mean I would describe it as dance. Have you ever had that sort of kind of quick relationship with somebody else like whether Arizona State or Florida um in your past? Yeah, I mean I try to have like a good relationship with all my teammates, man. And I’m blessed to be in a position where I’ve had a lot of good teammates throughout the years and you know, a lot of guys that bring good energy to the um to the room and KB’s just one of those guys. So immediately I knew as soon as he you know came in the meeting rooms out, you know, we were going to get along. Got that energy to him. He’s got that light to him and I appreciate that. And he he’s that way not just in practice, but also the the meeting rooms. Oh, 100%. You know, he’s he’s a light to be around and you know, when you’re around him, you know, you you you can’t help but laugh and smile. That’s just who he is. And he’s a good time to be around. and he’s a he’s a good guy to have in this locker room. Is that needed in the meeting room because that can get monotonous in there? I mean, what’s what’s the value of having good energy at that at that point? I would say that and even in the huddle in the games, you know, I think it’s just makes you play even more free, you know. Um it kind of reminds you, you know, this this game’s about, you know, having fun at the end of the day. That’s the reason why I’m pretty sure everybody in this locker room has started playing the game, you know, since we were little. So, you know, it just brings that factor to the huddle again and, you know, I really appreciate it cuz it makes me just, you know, be play be able to play, you know, relax and just be me. What do you see from Travis Hunter from the quarterback standpoint? You imagine Yeah, trying to play both ways. Yeah, he’s a hell of a player, obviously. He’s super athletic. Um, I was just talking about his ball skills. He’s he’s elite ball skills. Um, he’s got good feet. He’s long, you know, he he’s got everything you really want in a corner. So, it’ll be it’ll be a good match up. I’m excited to go against him. What hurts you playing when when he’s playing both way? Like do you try to tire him out more when he’s on defense? Are there, you know, are there things you try to take advantage of when you guys playing snaps or no? Or is it just you got to do your Yeah, I mean, I don’t really keep that in mind, you know. I mean, I think for me it’s just always running the route, you know, full speed, no matter if I think he’s tired or not. You know, it’s it’s more about a me thing than it is a him thing. So, I mean, if he’s tired, he’s tired. If he’s not, he’s not. I’m just going to run the route probably the exact same way. when you lost the interception on film, what what did you see from that play? The interception. Yeah. Um for me, I think, you know, I could have batted the ball down, helped out Mack a little bit. Um you know, I appreciate him trying to fit the ball in there, too. You know, I think he made a really good play. It was aggressive throw and that’s what you want from a quarterback. And you know, as I was breaking off, I could have helped him with my angle maybe on the route just to have a chance to put my hand in there, maybe dive out a little bit and make more of a play. Um but obviously, you know, I was trying to I was trying to catch the ball for sure. of those plays where you thought it wasn’t going to go to you based off the coverage like you mentioned a minute ago. No. Um I don’t I don’t think it was a play where I didn’t think it was coming to me. I think they just had the right coverage called and it was a Camden look and he came down and he was he was playing really flat footed and being a receiver if you see that you want to come really flat. So I was trying to break down my feet and come flatter and then the ball carried and I try to slap it out the air. But oh, sorry. What are you going to miss the most about having Nick Bos just around and obviously on the field but as a teammate? Yeah, I think what he just brings to our team, you know, in the locker room, on the field, whatever it is, you know, I mean, he’s he’s one of our best players, you know, he’s he’s a threat in our defense, so I think that’s, you know, the biggest concern, but, you know, just having a dude in the locker room like that to be around each and every day, you know, a good dude. So, you it’s going to be a big loss for us for sure. When did you hurt your knee and how’s it feeling today? It’s feeling good. Actually, I don’t even know when I hurt my knee. Um to to be completely honest, I felt a little bit of soreness after the game and it wasn’t until later on in the night I was kind of moving around and felt a little soreness. Nothing that I was, you know, really concerned about. Um came in the next day and was, you know, talking to the trainers and I told them the same thing I’m telling you right now is, you know, I’m not really concerned, but I just want to check it out a little bit. And, you know, that’s kind of what I’m dealing with is it’s just a little bit of soreness and I’m not worried about it. If there was a game today, I’ll play. the

  1. Quick Question> What do you think about elevating Nick Martin to the 53 and having him rush the passer (in Bosa's spot) ala Micah Parsons? I think it could be genius…
