Minnesota Vikings News Dump (9.25.2025) | Croke Park Facts, Hopeful Injury Report, NVP!

[Music] What’s going on, Jerome? Beautiful Thursday. Birds are indeed chirping and stuff and it’s time for another Vikings news dump. So, uh sort of dawned on me is Oh yeah, the Vikings have international games next two weeks. Uh Dublin, Ireland, Cro Croak Park, and then in Tottenham Stadium, uh world uh home of the world’s emptiest trophy case, Liverpool against the Browns next week, right? And I was get I always get this a lot. So I I said last year next international game I’m going to go. But unfortunately things don’t work out because the by-week is obviously after the two international games. And so football’s like a major part of things going on. So I always promise the wife that we go on a trip during the by-week and of course bye-week is right afterwards. So it it was a hard sell. Uh, hey, we’re going to go to Dublin and then London and then we’re going to go on our trip to undisclosed location. That’s tough. That’s tough. Also, actually, that would have last Sky Miles. Doesn’t matter. Anyways, but I I have to get all these Irish jokes out of my system now. Irish. I were Korean is what most people say. Also, St. Patty’s and this week is the only time I can use my favorite joke, which the wife hates. Uh, so it’s a pickup line. You must be Irish because my is Dublin. We still in the air. Doesn’t matter. So, Croak Park, uh, looking really damn good in the heart of Dublin. So, some facts about Croak Park. Opened in 1884, which is something I love. And, uh, I got into, um, English soccer like five years ago. Liverpool. Uh, but there you go. Uh so like it it’s kind of funny like seeing these stadiums built uh 1876 uh or uh 1892 uh well the the local priest decides like hey we’re going to start a footy team and then they’ve just played ever since. It’s like what I always say about baseball. It’s like well well something really cool happened tonight is that this player did blah blah blah blah blah. Actually, that’s happened one time before in 1903 when Crocodile Macccarvin uh did it for the Boston Crabs or I don’t know. I don’t know, man. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croak uh called the Croker colloially by the locals. Uh it’s home to Gaelic games which include Gaelic football and hurling. Um so I assume Gaelic football is kind of like rugby or Aussie rules football. I’m guessing I should probably know. And with hurling, so hurling is kind kind of like it’s kind of like field hockey where you have like this hooked club. I only know that because uh there’s this girl that I really wanted to date in college that was super into hurling. Uh I think I dodged one there. Anyways, uh 82,300 total capacity. It’s about like 62,000 seated. Yeah, it’s the largest nonassociation football stadium in Europe. uh not the largest non AF. Yeah. So, every other stadium that is of comparable or larger size is uh for for the for the footy. All right. And first American style football game. It’s this is actually not the first, but 2014 Central Florida versus Penn State kick things off, right? And you’ve seen a couple of international like Irish games. you Notre Dame going across the pond a couple times uh at different stadiums, but uh this that was the the first one at the Croker. So, I don’t know. I I’m I’m actually against this game now. I do not want to my team to play in a stadium where Christian Hackenberg completely soiled every blade of grass. Uh Viking Steelers is going to be the first NFL game. Of course, the Steelers, you know, Dan Rooney, uh former ambassador, well, one of the Rooney’s former ambassador to Ireland. rest in power. Uh, as well as the Vikings. I don’t know. So, we’ve gotten some comments from Irish people. It’s like, well, you you you know the I don’t know why the Irish people sound Jamaican. I should probably not do an Irish accent, but they’re like, you know, the history of the Vikings and Ireland. Do you know the history of England and the Vikings? Come on, man. Come on. The Vikings were basically just like whatever. you know, uh the pitch, it’s a natural grass pitch, which is nice. Uh 60% Kentucky blueg grass, 40% perennial ryrass. So, all those grasses combined are going to be very good and absorbent for when Aaron Rogers pisses down his leg. At his age, it’s called incontinence, but it’s okay. You Tottenham is turf. I don’t know why they do that because Tottenham, you know, just like all uh FIFA stadiums have to be natural grass. So why do they just get rid of it? You can regrow it. It’s okay. Someone’s also okay is that the Margaret and Roco Walkathon is on through October 15th. All Venmo’s cash apps donated uh to the show will go to their school fundraiser. Uh you guys have been absolutely crushing it yet again. Uh I think I don’t know. We can try and split it up so that they both lead fundraisers. I don’t know. Uh but Margaret’s one top fundraiser two out of the last three years. She gets like a sticker book or like a coloring book, right? Uh, Roco, we we’ll see. It’s for uh field trips and educational supplies. So, you guys are the absolute best. Thank you very much for being so generous uh to the show. And I don’t know like what what happens if Margaret gets into Girl Scouts or what happens if Rocco gets into Boy Scouts and they sell cookies and popcorn respectively? Like, do I put that out to the drones? How much do I have to pay for shipping to send out all those cookies? But they’d win anyways. Oh, randomly. So, when I was a Boy Scout back in the day, so we used to sell wreaths uh in our community. That was a fundraiser before popcorn took over. And one year, I was just like, “F it. I I’m just going to sell a bajillion wreaths, right? Uh and my my my my dad was the was a manager at the local grocery store.” So, literally, I just sat my my my ass at the grocery store, gave Roman the puppy dog eyes. It’s like, “Excuse me, sir. Would you like to buy a wreath for this holiday season? I don’t know why I sounded like Russell Brand as a child, but I sold 220 wreaths, right? And it was great, but I didn’t think this through and neither did my dad. We had to go deliver all 220 wreaths. It was ti, but it was for a good cause. Anyways, first injury report is out and as we always say, you know, take the Wednesday injury report with a grain of salt, but some some very good things. So, first off, so Allan Hargrave, Van Ginkle, uh, were all DNP and I know that Hargrave chest dinged up in the Bengals game as well as AVG with the neck, uh, which was from training camp lingering and he only played eight snaps against the Bengals. It’s all he had to play. Uh but th those could be considered veteran days as well as Jackson and McCarthy. Uh so Jackson surgery on his wrist probably won’t be back until the Eagles game week seven after the buy. McCarthy DNP with his ankle and since both of them aren’t on the injury on the uh injured reserve, they have to be listed on the injury report. So I don’t know. And we’ll get into McCarthy here in a sec too. but also Ryan Kelly, Jaylen Redmond, Justin School, all full all full participants. So, uh, uh, Kelly and School uh, clear concussion protocol. So, Kelly returns the lineup, although Jurgens did fine, uh, in his in his, uh, in his spot. Plus, also, Darasaw and Harrison Smith after their season debuts, not even listed on the injured report. So, not even listed as a full participant, just completely off off. It’s beautiful to see. Now with with Darasaw, he probably will be listed as a DNP on Thursday because that Wednesday off Thursday, back Friday. Um patterns probably going to hold true throughout the season. So something to watch for. But very encouraging, very absolutely very encouraging that three piece three key pieces for the Vikings. Look good to go. Yeah. And with McCarthy, so he’s not an injured deserve, which if he had to go on, he would have to miss a minimum of four games. Again, not four weeks, four games. Uh Kevin Seafford who is not Carl Germmit. Uh Kevin Okonnell says he doesn’t have an answer at this point on whether quarterback JJ McCarthy ankle will practice this week’s. He has previously said the Vikings won’t put McCarthy back on the field until he can practice regularly. Also high ankle sprain. He’s also talked about his mobility being a huge part of his game. So McCarthy won’t be back till he’s 100 100. Also it does give the opportunity for Carson Wentz to Derb. And as we said, this is Carson Wentz’s last best chance to do something with his career. So, I think that he’s just going to fire that effing pigkin. Uh, and showed well against the Bengals. Uh, two tough games. Steelers are no slouches. Browns defense is elite. So, we’ll see what happens. Honestly, if if if Wentz tears it up against the Steelers and the Browns, as much as I love JJ McCarthy, I I completely understand the Vikings uh holding serve with M with Wentz the rest of the way, even when McCarthy gets healthy. But we’ll see. Also, I feel like they can’t pass up that Eagles Carson Wentz storyline at home, US Bank October 19th, and then you have a short week and then you travel to LA. I I I don’t know if McCarthy gets back for that, and then you’re on the road against Detroit. I don’t know. I don’t know. We’ll see. Also, speaking of traveling, uh, so Alec Lucy, I’d like to have a great piece talking about the logistics of the Vikings heading overseas for two games. Uh, and Mike Parson, uh, Vikings director of equipment services. You know that the economy is down bad if Micah Parsons is the Vikings equipment guy. Yeah. Uh, it’s basically like we’re on tour and we got two stages, right? So basic it’s insane the amount of stuff that they’re flying over. Uh team equipment basically temporary locker rooms, temporary facilities, temporary everything like that. And the fact that the Vikings have traveled overseas two of the last three years before this I think it’s really good and I I feel like Kevin McConnell, the logistic staff, like everyone involved like really know what’s going on. And I think that gives them a huge competitive advantage over the Steelers and the Browns, especially given the jet lag situation uh next week against the Browns after the Vikings have gotten acclimated. It’s going to be good. Yeah. Uh but it’s okay. The haters and losers in the media don’t believe. So four out of 10 of the NFL Network people believe in us. Colleen Wolf, Connie Fox, Nick Shooken, not Stirred, the marvelous Marcus Grant, as well as Eric Edholm, power rankings believe that the Vikings will emerge victorious. It’d be good. Uh, the haters and losers, Daniel Jeremiah, Appalachian State, we trusted you. Adam rank, whatever. Uh, Bucky Brooks, come on, man. Uh, MJD, the pride of DSL High School, Bob Ladosur when the game stands tall. Come on, pocket Hercules. Uh, G. Gordon, how do you predict that we we score five? Hm. Safety and a field goal, two safeties, and a one-point safety. Actually, look up highlights of a onepoint safety. It’s actually It’s really awesome. And then Kevin Patrick coming at you. Whatever. Whatever, man. Uh Fu, FU, FU, you’re cool. Colleina Marcus and Fu, we’re out. It’s what we’re doing. Also, uh this Vikings defense, it’s really coming together. Flores and everyone getting healthy at at the same time. It’s just it just feels like every single week if you have a good defense, you’re going to have a puncher chance. You know, especially in some of these tougher games coming up where hey, offensively, we’re certainly chief, I’m a peacock, you got to let me fly or captain, I’m a peacock. Yeah. Uh but as long as that defense is good to go, as long as they’re taking the ball away, as long as they’re making big time plays, they got a shot. Of course, JJ as well as Darius Butler know a thing or two about good defense. AJ Hawk is also there. Uh but McVish show this is literally the next level of defense from the players and the and the coordinator and JJ went on a long diet tribe about what the defense is showing uh gap responsibilities uh stunts games up front the disguises and the whole disguise thing is really tough and that’s why it does take either veteran players who’ve been there done that or young players have to learn a lot quickly you know like like Dallas Turner where I mean holding the these bluffs and not tipping your hand It’s a skill onto itself because even for a fraction of a second before the snap, if you show that you’re blitzing or not blitzing, that completely changes the protection scheme and that could blow up your play or something. Whereas if you they got the mug look, they got everyone up at the last scrimmage and you don’t tip your hand, you don’t give the game away that you’re dropping, all of a sudden they’re accounting for you or ex player XYZ is the mic, then all of a sudden you get a free rusher, baby. Plus, it’s so much fun. Especially cool, too, if you watch all 22 later where Jake Brownie had a couple of these. Kale Booms had a couple of these week one where they go play action like true play action from under center where they they turn their back carrying out their play fake and what they saw pre- snap is completely different than what they see after their play fake and then they they scan and that’s where quarterbacks they’re a quarter second slow and that’s when they get hit and that’s when big time plays happen. All right, so I I love JJ Watt for this. Something I also love is Jordan Addison back in the groove back on the roster. Now, he’s been able to be in the facility the last two weeks, but obviously, you know, he’s you’re you’re not taking up any first team snaps from others who are getting ready for the game. Uh, but Addison is back and when asked about the quarterback controversy, allegedly, uh, quote, “The way I look at it at it is I feel it’s my job to go out there and make the quarterback look good no matter who it is. I’ve always got the mindset to me like it doesn’t matter who it is, just throw it up. That’s how I go about it.” And it’s kind of true. So he he Addison tricked the world as a 19-year-old sophomore at Pit to think that Kenny Pick was a first- round pick. Small hand smells like cabbage. He won Caleb Williams the Heisman hands down. Uh and also his rookie season 2023 he went from Kurt to Mullins to the Pastronaut to the Mormon missile and then last year Sam Darnold. So I mean Addison his production has been pretty solid all the way through and he’s right. I mean, whoever it is at quarterback, whether it’s by choice, whether it’s by circumstance, no matter who it is, three is going to ball out, and I’m expecting big things from three, mainly because my fantasy team needs it and I’m desperate and everything sucks. And also, T got injured now, so it’s whatever, whatever, hoe. Whatever, man. Also, Isaiah Rogers. Rogers uh obviously NFC defensive player of the week. two touchdowns, two force fumbles, partridge in a per tree looks good. But more importantly, he won the Nickelodeon valuable player. He won the MVP and a couple Vikings have won this before. I think that Darnold won this last year, but notably Jefferson a couple seasons ago won it and also Kan Mardo wearing the slime hat. It’s good. Also, I miss Tristan Jackson, man. How do I live without Tishan Jackson? Uh but looking really good. Also th this is crazy. This is absolutely insane. So longest touchdowns from week three. Rogers had two of them. 87 yard pick six 66 yard scoop and score. And it it’s hilarious that four out of five are not offensive players. So Tory Horton, the pride of Colorado State, had a punt return. Same thing with Jaylen Lane. Jaylen Lane is in my ear and in my eye. Loved him. Virginia Tech. And then LB3. Whatever. Whatever, man. Yeah. Also, it’s good to see it, too. Uh, so Vikings behind the scenes video, uh, getting ready. We’re on to Cincinnati. Uh, this is from last week, but Elijah Williams, love Elijah Williams sitting in the first row. Do not bet against the pride of Morgan State because even though the Vikings defensive line is stacked to the te’s with Allen Hargrave, T J Red, uh, LDR, I Elijah Williams, I think, is going to be a little something something. us. You see them sitting in the front paying attention f first and foremost right there. Everyone else spread out. You see the quarterbacks in the second row all sitting next to each other. Huh. So you can can compare notes. Just just change the answers a little bit. I don’t know. Uh but I feel like well at first off I thought that this is good because it shows that Williams is dedicated but also this could be rookie hazing. If so where where’s T? How come he’s not down in front? Is this an undrafted guy thing? I don’t know. Either way, it’s good to go. Uh, and also can’t wait, man. Can’t wait. So, initially I was against this uh back-to-back international games trip, but I actually think it’s a competitive advantage for the Vikings. We’re going to whoop the Steelers ass. We are going to whoop the Browns ass. We’re going to come home at 4 in one getting it done. We’re going to come off the buy. We’re going to beat the Eagles ass. We’re going to beat the Chargers ass. We’re beat the Lions ass. There’ll be so much ass beating. It’s going to be great. It’s going to be great, man. Anyways, that’s it. Uh, Vikings news dump for this beautiful, glorious Thursday. You guys are the best you know to do. Skull production value.

  1. hahahaha! Good "Irish" joke! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘So, Rogers will suffer from unintentional intermittent intercontinental inter-conference incontinence-initiated injury?๐Ÿ˜Will Anthony Barr be present at the game? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Hey Andy, one storyline not talked about enough is that Vikings need 4 Sacks on Rodgers this Sunday to break the record for Most Franchise Sacks on an individual QB, overtaking the Rams Vs Russel Wilson at 83!

  3. Is Daniel Jones really a world beater? Was it a mistake to let him go? Keeping him would have required a commitment to let him start or at least compete equally for a shot at starting. Could O'Connell's love for McCarthy end up costing the team? I'm not at all sure. Just asking.
