What Did The 2021 St.Louis Cardinals Look Like?#baseball #mlb #sports #baseballhighlight #cardinals
What did the 2021 St. Louis Cardinals look like? The rotation was a wild one with just two pitchers going over a 100 innings with Adam Wayright being the ace with a 3.05 RA in 32 starts followed by Kang Yong Kim with a 3.46 and other notable starters were Jack Flity, John Gant, Ja Hap, and John Lester. At catcher, Yadier Armino was still holding it down, even being named an all-star and still being great behind the plate. First base was Paul Goldmid, who led all National League first baseman in F4 at 4.8, 8, winning a gold glove and finishing sixth in MVP voting. Second base was a 26-year-old Tommy Edmond who added another gold glover and he swiped 30 bags as well. Shortstop was a split between Paul D. Young and Edmundo Sosa. D Young hitting just 197 while Sosa had a 735 OPS and they both played great defense from Shore. Nolan Aronida was playing third base in his first year in St. Louis and finished third on this team in F4 with his 34 homers and 105 RBI’s adding yet another all-star in Gold Glover. Left field was probably the best player on this team and Tyler O’Neal, who led this team in WRC Plus, slugging war, and hit 34 homers, getting eighth in MVP and winning yet another gold glove. Harrison Bader held down center, winning this team’s fifth gold glove while hitting for a 785 OPS. Right field was rookie Dylan Carlson, who was the 14th best right fielder by war in 2021. And the bullpen was a big three with first half legend Alex Reyes who got named to the All-Star team, Giovani Gyos, who had a 3.02 erra, and Hennessys Cabrera who finished with a 3.28 28 FIP.
