The Vikings QB Debate Is Ridiculous 👀 #shorts #minnesotavikings

No matter what Wentz does over the next two weeks, this is JJ McCarthy’s job when he is fully healthy. Carson Wentz is a backup quarterback. And if you think the Vikings team is as good as they are, he should be able to win two games against two teams that you are better than without everybody overreacting and be like, “Oh, Carson Wentz is the reason the Vikings are winning these football games.” I think 45 quarterbacks could have won that game the Vikings won this past week. I might have had a good chance to win that game last week. If the Vikings offense didn’t play last week, they would have won 14-10 because of the two touchdowns by Isaiah Rogers. So, I will stay in this camp. I truly believe this. Even if Wentz goes two and0 and even if he throws for 600 yards, six touchdowns over the next two weeks, this is still JJ McCarthy’s job at the end of the day.

  1. Carson Wentz gives the Vikings a much better chance of winning because of his experience and being able to run an efficient offense, JJ has shown early promise but is no where near ready to run this Vikings offense

  2. This guy just sounds like a fanboy! Offense moved pretty smooth with it being his first game and just learning the playbook. Ain’t his fault McCarthy is made out of chico sticks

  3. JJ is not an NFL caliber QB. Said it all along. Put down the the headgear junior. Your take is garbage. If Wentz plays well he will take over the team. This is a veteran squad built to win NOW. Jefferson is in his prime you think he’s gonna sit quiet while JJ struggles? Stop with your crappy takes bud.

  4. If 45 other QBs could've won the Bengals game because of how good the rest of the team is, then how did we get spanked by the Falcons…. a team that got beat 30 to 0 the week after by a bottom 5 team in the Panthers??

This team is obviously not so dominant that any backup could jump in and win. And if it is, what does that say about JJ?

I think people are overreactimg to the QB situation… mainly because way too much hype was put into a rookie QB. This kid is not just gonna hit the ground running like everybody expected him to. It would've been nice if he did, but it's just not feasible for most young QBs.

And the fact of the matter is, whether we throw him in this year or we postpone it for the next one, eventually we're gonna have to sacrifice a season to his development. And there's no guarantee he's gonna be ready in his 2nd or even 3rd year… or that he ever ends up working out. That's the position you're in drafting franchise QBs out of college tho. So anyone who thought he was gonna step in this year and lead us to a Superbowl was only fooling themselves.

We might not have to worry about any of that tho because he appears to be so injury prone that he's not going to be playing much anyways. One more injury this year and I'd say we have conclusive proof that he's not durable enough for the NFL.

  5. You’re way off. JJ I’ll be surprised if he makes it in this league. He has no release and takes forever to get rid of the ball and needs to aim it when he does. I don’t believe he was a good pick. Why the Vikings took a quarterback that didn’t tear it up in college passing the ball is beyond me. He can run but so what. We should’ve kept Darnold and got a Wentz for a backup. Bud Grant often said that Fran Tarkington’s greatest asset was his durability. JJ is hurt again and he’s played in only 2 games. Give it up and tell yourself we’re damn lucky we have Wentz.
