Micah Parsons RETURNS to Dallas đŸ˜± Cowboys’ WORST Nightmare!

So, I’m sorry. Unapologetic. I’m not trying to talk about him unlike anyone else. But knowing y’all, y’all will probably make me. This is the Stephen A. Smith Show. Ah. Good afternoon everybody. Welcome to the latest edition of the Stephen A. Smith Show. Coming at you as I love to do every weekday from 1 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time over the airways of SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio channel 82. Number to call up as always is8 Mad Dog6. That’s8 Mad Dog6. That’s 8886233646886233646. Of course, if you don’t want to stay on the line and you just want to leave a voicemail message, feel free to go to sirusxm.com/getserious. That’s sirxm.com/getserious. Leave your voicemail message, leave your phone number if you want to, and I’ll be sure to holler back at you. There’s a lot to get into today. Make no mistake about it. There’s an awful lot to get into today. It’s just certain things that are unavoidable. We got a bunch of football stuff to get into. We’ve got the the Listen, you got the Chiefs and the Ravens. You got the Giants and certain Jackson Dart. We’ve got to have a conversation as to whether or not Russell Wilson, who appears to be on his way out as the quarterback for the New York Giants, because he’s not going to be starting any longer. Jack, that’s going to be Jackson Dart. Is Russell Wilson a Hall of Famer? That’s a question I’d like to throw in y’all direction as the show progresses. Of course, there’s some baseball stuff to get into. It’s unavoidable there. Okay, because my New York Yankees are in the postseason. My Mets are in position. I shouldn’t say my Mets, but the Mets are in position to be in the postseason. And we’re looking at the American League and we’re looking at the National League. And the road to prosperity is tougher for who? The Yankees or the Mets? I’m a native New Yorker, that’s why I bring it up that way. The American League seems wide open. The National League not so much. But there’s a lot to talk about in both conferences. So, that’s something that we’ll get into. My man Harold Reynolds. Harold Reynolds for the Major League Baseball Network. Uh, baseball analyst extraordinaire for decades, by the way. One of the best, the absolute best in the business. He’ll be on the show with us a little bit later. But we got some football stuff to get into because Micah Pawets and the Green Bay Packers are rolling in Dallas to take on the Cowboys this weekend. I just think that it’s fair to say right now my condolences to to Cowboy fans out there. I mean, you you know I’m only half serious about that because I don’t give a damn if Dallas Cowboy fans are miserable. It tickles my heart to know that they’re going to be miserable because misery is coming. Let’s be very, very clear about the level of misery that’s aiming in the Dallas Cowboys direction because Michael Parsons is coming to town. Michael Par is one of the preeminent defensive players in the game, who’s an absolute expert and a stud when it comes to getting at the quarterback, who hasn’t had the luxury of having the likes of Rashawn Garry and others as his teammates in the past, is going to be hunting this weekend. This is Michael Parsons that we’re talking about here. This is the same Michael Parsons that wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy for life. This is the same Micah Parsons that wanted a contract extension. There’s the same Michael Parsons that was willing to take less and sign earlier, but Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys didn’t take it that way and they didn’t take advantage of that opportunity. Ultimately, procrastination kicked in. Ultimately, he had conversations with Micah Parsons and then Jerry Jones eyes that was tantamount to an agreement and in the end Michael Parsons broke that agreement and called them and said, “Don’t call me. Call my agent.” Jerry Jones was offended. shut down all communications with Michael Parsons, refusing to talk to his agent, um, and in the end ultimately ended up trading him for two late first round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark um, with the Green Bay Packers. That’s what Jerry Jones did. That’s the story. Here’s the backstory. The Dallas Cowboys defense stinks without Micah Parsons. They don’t look like they can stop a cold. This is how bad they’ve been. Chicago ran rough shard all over them. We know this. The Giants did what they wanted to do against them offensively with the Dallas Cowboys lucking up and winning 40 to 37 at Jerry World in week two. And we see a Dallas Cowboy team that is on a path to nowhere. This does not look like a team that’s going to be able to go to the playoffs. And me personally speaking, I don’t give a damn what football players say. You don’t take a CD Lamb against Chicago and line him up in the back field in the first quarter and give him the ball on a running place. You see, when you’re in the backfield, ladies and gentlemen, you got to get past that front seven. And so, you got mammoth defensive lineman and you got speedy and hardcore linebackers coming your way. That’s entirely different than a receiver who primarily has to deal with a secondary filled with safeties and quarterbacks. It’s a difference between getting hit from those cats and getting hit from cats with the front seven. And you don’t put a slim, tall figure like CD Lamb in that kind of position. That’s what the Dallas Cowboys did. I blame them for the high ankle sprain that CD Lamb has that’s now reportedly going to keep him out for at least three to four weeks. I blame them. I blame them. You don’t do that. But that is what they did. And as a result, it’s compromised them in a very, very severe way because if you’re Dak Prescott, who Jerry Jones wants to have everything on his shoulders, by the way, because Jerry Jones is paying him $60 million. Yes, Dak Prescott is the highest paid quarterback in the league. He is getting paid more than Patrick Mahomes. He is getting paid more than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson and Jaylen Herz and Matthew St. I mean, he’s getting paid all more than all of these guys. He’s getting paid more than Joe Burrow. He’s getting paid more than all of these guys. That man, that’s who Jerry Jones wants everything in his hands. He wants to ride. He wants everything to ride with Dak Prescott to justify the 60 million a year he agreed to give Dak Prescott. That’s what Jerry Jones wants to do. That’s where he’s coming from with it. And so, Dak, if you’re Dak and you know that it’s riding on your shoulders, why the hell would you go for a play call that would have CD Lamb coming out of the back field running the damn football? It ain’t like they threw him some screen. Literally, in the case of CD Lamb, they handed him the back. That’s Brian Shot, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. You literally handed CD Lamb the ball on a running play out of the back field like he was Javvante Williams or somebody. You don’t do that. But that’s what the Dallas Cowboys did. So, once again, that black cat is running around that franchise because they get their own way. And if anybody knows about this all too well, it’s Micah Parsons who’s no longer a member of the franchise, who’s now a member of the Green Bay Packers. And despite them wetting the bed against the Cleveland Browns last year, in last week rather, in Cleveland on the road, they know they’re the better team. They know they’re a Super Bowl contender. They are the same team that smacked around the Detroit Lions in week one. And we’ve seen the lo the Detroit Lions over the last two weeks put up 90 points. But you couldn’t do that against Green Bay. So Green Bay’s defense, which held Cleveland to 10 points, which is nothing to write home about, as sorry as Cleveland’s offense is. Nevertheless, they hunt for a living in Green Bay. This is what they do on that defensive side of the ball. And Micah Parsons is leading the pack, especially in this particular game against his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, with an owner just weeks removed from refusing to pay him and uh preferring instead to ship off his top defensive player and who I consider to be the best player on the team and the true face of the franchise, which is Micah Parsons. But this is Michael Parsons yesterday talking about this upcoming matchup against his old team this Sunday. Listen up. It’s going to be it’s going to be painful, you know what I mean? Dax’s my guy. Uh, you know, he was always like a good mentor for me. Um, but you know what it is. He I always told him if I ever faced him that, you know, it’ll be a it’ll be a great match up. So, I’m excited to see what Sunday uh brings itself. For me, you know, I accepted my fate uh weeks ago when uh the trade happened. So for me, it’s just all about playing another game and just doing what I do best and that’s just be a disruptive football player. You know, I think the media and the fans are trying to blow it up to be such a big thing. But, you know, I just look at just another game at AT&T. He’s lying. He’s lying. If you know anything about Michael Parsons, this ain’t just another game. Don’t listen to that BS. Don’t get caught up in it. He’s lying. And I love Michael Parsons. Mad affection for him. good brother, you know, but he’s lying. This is not just another game. This is the team that that that let him go. There’s an owner in J. Not not towards his teammates. Ain’t no ill will there. They all understand business is business. They didn’t resent him. They didn’t blame him for it. But the owner of the team, my buddy Jerry Jones, traded him away. And Michael Parsons, if he had his brothers, he would much rather have remained a Dallas Cowboy making the money that he’s making. He did not want to leave. He had no choice but to insist upon departing because Jerry Jones made it clear he wasn’t going to pay him and wasn’t going to talk to his agent, David Mulligetta. And so that’s what we’re looking at right now. That’s the situation. That’s the circumstances. Here’s Jerry Jones speaking about Micah Parsons uh and what it’s going to be like this weekend. Take a listen. Have said this time and time again. I thank the world of Micah and uh uh as an individual and of course know him well. Uh but uh and I might say I wish him well except it’s obvious I don’t this weekend in terms of Green Bay winning the ball game. Right now, when you look at the Dallas Cowboys, they could wish what they want to wish. Here’s the reality. Dallas right now ranks 30th in total defense, 27th in scoring defense. Their pass defense is the absolute worst in the entire NFL. You they can’t stop anybody. Uh defensive sacks, they ranked 29th in the league. They only have four sacks in three games. This is what happens when you lose a Michael Parsons. And they’re dead last as well on third down defense. They don’t stop anybody. The Cowboys pass defense, um, obviously compromised by Michael Parson’s departure, has allowed a league high 13 pass plays of 25 or more yards. 13 pass plays for 25 or more yards in three games. Let me try that again. Let me try that again. For those of you out there who know football, 13 pass plays for 25 yards or more in the first three games of the season. Do y’all have any idea how awful that is? You have any idea how awful that is? But that’s what we’re looking at when we’re talking about the Dallas Cowboys. They’re in a world of trouble. I I I think that I don’t know whether it’s going to be a blowout or not because I never know when Jordan Love is going to show up with that offense for Green Bay, but I know the defense is going to have a field day with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys considering the fact that CD Lamb is going to be out. George Pickers has got to step up. You’re in the contract year, bro. You came over from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Okay. Everybody knows your skill set was elite, but you were a bit temperamental. We saw you taking off your helmet and slamming it to the ground because you you you you let passes come through your hands last week and it led to an interception in Chicago. But in the end, what it comes down to is that now with CD Lamb out, you’re the number one option, which means Dak Prescott’s going to be looking for you. And if he’s going to be looking for you, that means Green Bay is going to be watching you. What you going to do? All of that remains to be seen. Triple 8 Mad Dog 6 is always the number to call up. It’s 888623646. We’re also going to revisit the whole conversation about Jackson Dart starting for the New York Giants, the rookie out of Old Miss. I mean, listen, he looked good in the preseason. He’s got some skills. We know this. But it’s really, really not about him. It’s about how bad Russell Wilson looked in two of the three games this season. Certainly looked good against Dallas and throwing for 450 yards, but didn’t look good against the Commanders in the season opener. Certainly didn’t look good against Kansas City on Sunday night. The mentality is is that Brian Dable should have inserted Jackson Dart in the game late against Kansas City. Gave him some reps. So therefore, when he’s going out against the Chargers, you can get, you know, you you you he’d be better prepared. But Brian Dable didn’t do that because for some reason the Giants always seem indecisive. They never see seem sure of themselves. And that’s what Brian Dable is taking heat for right now. So, I say all of that to you to say, listen, I like the fact that Jackson Dart’s going to be in there. I’m worried about his first game being against the Chargers, who are a Super Bowl contender. If we’re being honest, they’re a Super Bowl contender right now. Because when we look at Jim Harbaugh and his ability to coach this team and coaching Justin Herbert and having him look the way that he’s looking, there’s a lot of storylines that’s breeding from this particular subject with the Chargers. Number one, Justin Herbert, is he ready to take that next step because we know from a skill set, he could compete with anybody. That’s question number one. Question number two, if indeed the Chargers are making noise, what does that mean for the likes of the Buffalo Bills or even more importantly the Baltimore Ravens? Number three, speaking of the Baltimore Ravens, I’m not worried about Derrick Henry fumbling in all three games this season. I think he’ll correct the error of his ways. Lamar Jackson already looks like an MVP candidate. He’s out there balling. The Baltimore Ravens defense is making a case between themselves and the Dallas Cowboys to be the worst defenses in the National Football League. I guess you could throw the Saints in there with what Seattle just did to them, but I’m just saying it doesn’t look great right now. So, all of those things come into play, but ultimately getting back to Russell Wilson, here’s the question. Is Russell Wilson a Hall of Famer? Do you know what my answer to that would be, ladies and gentlemen? It all depends on Eli Manning. If Eli Manning is a Hall of Famer, Russell Wilson’s a Hall of Famer. Period. Case closed in the discussion. If Eli Manning becomes a Hall of Famer, because he didn’t become he didn’t make the first ballot. If he becomes a Hall of Famer, Russell Wilson’s a Hall of Famer. That’s a subject that we can tackle as the show progresses. But I’m just telling you what I know. Eli Manning is a career 500 quarterback, 117 117 record. He had seven winning seasons in 17 years. When you look at that, you got to pay attention to what it is and understand that even that he’s still a Manning and he’s still a two-time Super Bowl champion. Eli Manning will eventually be in the Hall of Fame. Well, how you going to leave Russell Wilson out when the first nine years of of his career, he always had a winning record? They were always in the playoffs. He went to back-to-back Super Bowls and won a Super Bowl championship. And his record as a starter in the league is 41 games over 500. But Eli Manning is a 500 quarterback. You have to put Russell Wilson in the Hall of Fame if Eli Manning goes to the Hall of Fame. If Eli Manning doesn’t go to the Hall of Fame, then that’s a different argument. But we all know he’s going to end up in there. That is the situation. That’s just one of the many things that we’re going to discuss today. Green Bay visiting Dallas, Baltimore going up against Kansas City, Jackson Dart starting for the New York Giants. I didn’t even bring up Pittsburgh yet and their game against the Minnesota Vikings coming up in Dublin, Ireland. I didn’t bring that up yet and I certainly didn’t bring up Major League Baseball and a player picture and it’s all unfold unfolding. By the way, I’m gonna get into a little college football as well because I got something to say about this this Saturday’s schedule. something funny to point out that y’all I think y’all will be very very amused by. 1. Stephen A. Tell the Crawford/Spence story. Where multiple players(Micah, Diggs, CD??) said they had zero confidence in dak. I heard it more than one on First Take. Micah can’t stand dak. McCarthy had to tell MParsons to stop hitting dak in practice

  2. Hi stephen A! I enjoy watching you on first take every morning, but i do have a puzzling question for you, this morning you all mentioned about questions with regard to coach john harbaugh as maybe an issue as to why the ravens are not doing well. However im a diehard chiefs and what i don't hear you or others on first take bringing up is that is also possible that chiefs off. Coordinator matt nagy could be the issue for the chiefs offensive woes?? Lets remember, matt nagy was fired from the bears as HC for the same offense issues. The offense has been just getting by for the last couple of seasons, but the chiefs offense was much superior when Eric bienemy was the off. Coordinator. Look at what happened in the super bowl, NO OFFENSE! ty ma brotha!😊

  3. Stephen A should troll the video of Dak at the beginning of the season “We’re gonna win the Super Bowl , I believe it.” 😂 No you’re looking like last year only beating on teams inferior to you in a field goal or 2 win. Cowboys now are the best team for any opponent to try and start a new quarterback. He will definitely have some some confidence leaving the game
