Lamar Jackson: ‘We Got a Lot of Work to Do’ | Baltimore Ravens

one and two after right now after three weeks. How how big of a hole do you think that is or do you not even think that’s much of a hole for this team? Uh I feel like the way uh we performed was a hole like a huge hole but you know it’s still the beginning of the season. You got a lot to work to do a lot of work to do and you just got to execute. you. This is I think you were sacked seven times tonight. That rarely rarely happens with you. What What were you seeing back there that was causing problems? Uh man, guys are doing stunts and they had a uh a spy and uh sometimes the spy was they was grabbing my leg and that’s just what it was. You know, guys was they was dropping the coverage. Got three safeties back there and I’m just not going to throw a hailmary ball. You know, I’m going to read the coverage out and then try to make something happen. Mark, you you’ve seen spies a lot over your career. A lot of teams have done them. Did the Lions do something that was a little bit different from what other teams have done in the past? No, they were just executing, you know, that’s all it was. You just execute it. Mark, what um can you just walk us through maybe that sequence? Um you know, you got just have the ball down the one yard line. Um Derek gets, you know, stopped a couple times and then the sack obviously. um just the difficulty of not converting those type of situations and and um you know what kind of went wrong there. I can’t tell you what went wrong, you know. Uh we just didn’t score and that’s rarely that that rarely happens, you know, and I feel like we just got to put points on the board right there in that situation. We on the one yard line, we right there in the end zone. Feel like we got to punch in, find a way to punch in. Lamar, I know every time you touch the ball, you want to you want to score, but when you see the other team having their success and the long drives, do you feel that puts even more pressure on the offense to score at all? Um, like you said, every every time we on the field, I feel like we should have scored. So, I I feel like that’s just pressure regardless. You know, that’s our job to put points on the board. I’m just I’m not looking at the other team, you know, probably look at the time of possession like, okay, we got to put points on it here on the board here. But no, I don’t feel like we should be in panic mode or nothing like that. You know, just do the same thing when we get our opportunity, draw the ball down and feel like we always do, put points on the board. But at the same time, we were scoring pretty fast sometimes and those guys were milking the clock. So, in a way, we had to hurry up. You feel fumble in the fourth quarter was a pretty key play in the game and we saw him on the sideline really upset. I mean, what do you say to him after that play and that sequence and what’s the team’s faith in right now? I don’t let it go. You know, we had like six minutes and a half left in the game, you know, when that situation happened and our defense did a great job, you know, um stopping those guys and we just got to find a way to drive the ball down the field and score, you know, right away cuz we were still in the game. It wasn’t like it was a blowout or nothing like that. Omar, did do you see this as a a wakeup call or a shock to the system or whatever you want to call it for the entire team and how do you expect everybody to respond this week? I feel like week one was a wakeup call. You know, not just this loss, week one was a wakeup call. Last week was a wakeup call, you know, cuz we started off slow uh last week and you know, we we got we got beat tonight. Know Lions had they had a great game plan. I feel like offense and defense for those guys played great. We just got to find a way to win. Two more. Appreciate you.

  1. He said on the goal line then not scoring rarely happens. Beginning of the season vs the bills D Hop gets stopped on the one yard line and we got three points. Last season vs the Bills…. Bateman catches the ball on the 3 yard line and we walked away with 3 points.

  2. The fellas just need to focus up. Correct the mistakes being made and execute how you’re suppose to. It’s early in the season. There is time to fix the ship. I haven’t given up on this season yet. I know you guys can do it. You just gotta go do it.

  3. No team would have beaten the Lions Monday night. Coach Dan Campbell said they brought everything they had. Ravens should be 2-1. They dominated Buffalo most of that game in Week 1. They were beaten on both sides of the ball by the Lions, Monday. No question. But the NFL is a week to week adventure. Ravens are still a team that could win it all in February.

  4. I honestly think the coaches took the targets away from zay to feed andrews. Dude probably was crying about not getting the ball. Zay is our best reciever. How does he not have at least 80 yards?

  5. I’m a Lions fan. You guys have a great team and a great franchise. I’m pretty sure you guys will always be in the mix to win it all as long as you have Lamar.

  6. Just an observation..two point conversion….no pass rush…no one near Lamar and he throws it over receivers head….elite passer ?? …don't think so.

  7. I'm looking forward to you all playing out there in Kansas City and winning that game I think we play better when our backs against the wall and this season ain't over even though you're late what is it one or two one two ain't bad we still are undefeated in our division sometimes the more things happen some teams are cheating on you making them trick plays and running now did the office of line is letting you down I hope we go to Kansas City and beat them go out there and get that win

  8. Lamar use the gifts that God gave you. You are blessed. You’re the best athletic football quarterback you could throw. You could run. You could do it all. Do not go with the narrative that you got a pass all the time. Use your gift. God gave you the power to enjoy the game play the game and dominate. God bless you Brother.

  9. I still don't understand why we're not the offense that's the best at trick plays and play action with the players we have but yet we hardly do any of that which is the dumbest thing ever and I like our OC but what's going on in his head is what I want to know!!!!!

  10. It also helps when Detroit snags up a guy from our practice squad the week before they play us who is a QB n WR tht plays just like Lamar and knows are offense and defense top to bottom as he was on our team for two seasons!!! Why don't NFL teams just steal a player off the practice squad from the team they're going to play the next week every time to make things easier instead of trying to come to the game and have a challenge of figuring it out on your own by preparation and watching tape during the week instead! 🤨💯

  11. Bro bro first thing is our coaches are good. It’s the players that need to be better in those moments. And for our RB Derrick Henry, he just needs to be aware of his surroundings, needs to always be paying attention when he’s carrying the ball. Needs to know that he ran for 1,900 yards last year, so teams going to try do whatever they can to try to stop him. They seen him fumbling recently, so they trying him. He just gotta always be paying attention when he’s carrying the ball. Make sure our RB Derrick Henry knows these such things..🏈 And KEEP OUR WR DEANDRE HOPKINS ON THE FIELD. AND GET HIM THE FOOTBALL EARLY AND OFTEN. Our WR Deandre Hopkins is the best Wide receiver on the team period, Let Me keep it 100. There’s No Other Hall of Fame WR On Our Offense, AT All. Put Some Respect On His Name. Ain’t No Wide Receiver Even Sniff 100 Catches In A Season, That’s Facts, So Why Is He Touching The Ball Last. It Don’t Make Any Sense, Let The Coaches Know That, Right Away. If You’re Offense Is Running RIGHT, He’s The First WR To Touch A Ball, Don’t Care Where He Came From, Why, Because He’s The Best WR on the team. And He Should Have Gotten An Contract Extension Already cause he’s that valuable to the team, we never had a receiver that good other than WR Steve Smith, that’s it. He’s still young, we should be taking advantage of that, We As The Ravens Need To Be Signed Up With That Brothers Services As Much As Possible. I would have gave him a 3 year deal to start off. He would have had near 100 catches on my team and about 10 touchdowns, and I would have got the others involved. We can’t be slow as a offense, We need to use what we have.🏈 #Ravens #Lamar Jackson #Derrick Henry #Coach Harbaugh
