Paul George: “I’m the Paul George that the 76ers went out and signed. I do think I still got a lot of game in me, playing at a high level. I gotta get healthy to get to that point.”

  1. I still have some belief in him, I don’t think there’s a point in hating on him. Even if he was Indiana PG we were going no where last year. He can still be a really good player for us

  2. The problem is he has no heart. Injury or not at this point he’s not going to add much value in the locker room and will be inconsistent at best on court.

  3. I have no doubt he can still play if truly healthy, but both he and Joel remaining consistently healthy to where they could build anything over the course of a season is a fantasy. Like lottery ticket level of probability.

  4. Whether we get way off p or playoff p we ain’t goin no where without Embiid. Honestly think this is the last year before the front office fully goes into a soft reset with the youngins

  5. I definitely think he still has it if he can remain healthy but that’s the caveat. Can’t trust his knees at this point. His knees are extremely fragile from the constant hyperextensions and it also makes him more at risk of a really bad injury, god forbid.

  6. When he says he’s gotta get healthy to get to that point – what exactly has he been doing for the past calendar year of not playing basketball? How is there still more healthiness to achieve?

  7. People will hate him but honestly he actually looked pretty good WHEN healthy last szn. Problem was that he was cooked from literally the first pre-season game. He can easily bounce back but who knows right now what his condition is.

  8. When self preservation wins out over self awareness. I’d say the same thing he’s saying if someone is willing to pay me for what I’ve already done. The problem for me, is he comes off like he’s separate from the team. Like he’s doing the team a favor by being in Philly.

  9. Sigh…whenever someone is trying to sell themselves it’s more them trying to convince themselves than to convince us. In other words…I’m not holding my breath

  10. I mean what’s he gonna say? I’m done, I’m cooked, stick a fork in me? This is just your standard beginning of the season pr script.

  11. He’s a clown and clowns like him have ruined the NBA. Star players chasing a bag and then phoning it in.

  12. I’m gonna be optimistic and look forward to seeing PG hopefully play at a high level again.

Doesn’t change things being pessimistic at this point. If we’re hometown fans, we gotta support our team. Season hasn’t started yet so until they drop the ball continually and need to be called out for it, let’s rally behind them.

  13. Right- but can you be the Paul George we actually wanted who stands behind the 3 point line and hits at a 40% clip. I don’t need you to take fadeaway baseline jumpers man

  14. “I’m still the Paul George they signed because I’m the Paul George they are writing the checks to and the Paul George depositing those checks, so from that standpoint, I am and always will be Paul George.”
