8. Down the stretch, you don’t want to play teams that have already missed the playoffs. Boston now have nothing to play for while angels and rangers will want to play spoilers. Of course this team will probably still end up being swept anyway.

15. The one thing this makes me happy, if we clinch the WC tomorrow that means Skubal doesn’t pitch on the last day of the regular season. The guy has the CY wrapped up, he deserves to strut his stuff in the postseason again, and I’m not convinced we’re going to make it beyond his one chance to start.

    (For all those pointing to what happened last year – he was NAILS before that one swing, and has a career sub 3 playoff ERA. He’s gonna be good.)
