Astros vs. Angels Game Highlights (9/26/25) | MLB Highlights
It all comes down to the final three games for the Astros trying to chase that last wild card spot. They just need to win again tonight. Right now, their playoff hopes uh rely on winning the series at minimum, guys, against the Angels, but they need some help, too. So, the Astros getting ready to start this game and they’ll face the right-hander Kyle Hendris, who may be out there for the final time. He hasn’t made a decision whether this is his last year or not, but he’ll take the mound tonight for the Los Angeles Angels. José Altuve leads things off for the Astros. Right-handed hitting second base. That’s a great spot. And he got him with a strike out. One closer to Gooby all time. Look at that upstairs. There’s two and another strike out. That ball hits sharply past the diving Christian Moore into center field. Carlos Koreah has a two out base hit for the Astros. Oh did a good job staying on that pitch and hitting a rocket back up the middle and Walker hits it in the center fairly deep. the playable for Teodosio backpedaling. He’s waiting and he makes the catch to retire the side. A two out hit, but that’s all for the Astros. There he is. Jason Alexander on the bump for the Houston Astros. This will be his 13th start. Here’s Mike Trout and Trout down on strikes. Wellplaced fast ball by Alexander for his first strikeout of the game. Slow roller to Carlos Kareah and he’ll make the play. Good start for Alexander. One, two, three inning including his first strike out of the night. Diaz, Cole, and Smith will be the first three. Yer Diaz sends one over the head of Taylor Ward, and he’s going to get to second base. Yiner with a leadoff double here in the second inning. Hit the ball hard and Ward tried to make a jumping catch. Good job by Yiner staying down on this change up. There it is. Another strike out, the third of the night as goal goes fishing on that one. Just the perfect setup on that one, too. Change up in a young hitter to expand. Another strike out, another change up. Two to and now it’s up to Raone Arias with two out. That’s just beautiful pitching. After the leadoff double, he got all three batters swinging at change ups. Strikes out all three. He’s got five now in the game. First pitch on Hoppy was in there. Two outs, no one on, no score. Both these guys tonight with excellent change ups. Next pitch and there’s a swing and a miss. So Hoppy goes down and that’s how the inning will end. Christian Walker will bat. Walker by far the most at bats of anybody in this lineup against Hendricks. They mostly came with the Diamondbacks and Cubs going headtohead. That ball hit to center field. Hit pretty well. Teodosio back. He’s near the wall. He’ll leap. It’s gone. Christian Walker backto back games with home runs. Having a big road trip and puts the Astros in front. One to nothing. Another home run on the road for Christian Walker. Skywalker in flight. Little evening delight. Christian Walker continues his road onslaught. 17 of his 25 home runs on the road this year. and putting the Astros in front with a bolt. Yiner gets into one towards left. Back on it goes Taylor Ward. This ball’s off the fence. Yiner thought it was gone. He’s going to have to hustle to get into second and he will with backto-back doubles for Yiner Diaz. He has hit the ball well against Hendricks tonight. Need this get contagious. Astros have a runner in scoring position with one out for Zack Cole. That ball slicing the other way. Fair ball. Yanner Diaz is going to score. Zack Cole with an RBI double. Astros in front two to nothing here in the fourth. That’s a peach right there. It’s one thing just to get to it. It’s another thing to keep that thing fair, but that change up just was never going to get there. And a big swing from Zack that counts just as much as Yiner’s double. It does. Yeah, that was a third of the bats or the velocity off the bat. And there’s another strike out. And that is number six. And that ties Maruba on the alltime strikeout list. Slowly hit towards Short. The rookie shortstop Guzman makes the play. Safe at first. They said Showell was off the bag. Aras is going to reach. Andy Fletcher, the crew chief, said Showell did not keep his foot on the bag. We’ll see if the Angels challenge. Have to review the call in the field stands. The runner safe. Zack Cole on third. Ramon Aras on first with two outs. Aras goes and the pitch is up and in. The throw is going to be to second. Here comes the runner trying to score. Cole safe. Double steal for the Astros. Zack Cole gets it ahead of the tag of three nothing. How about stealing a run right there for the Astros. The old steel stop and let the speed of third base go to work and force the defense to make a play. No challenge opportunity for the Angels after challenging that previous play from Raone Uriz. Number 27, Mike Trout. Mike Trout. First pitch way back and gone. Number 402 for Mike Trout. Boy, what a swing that was again for Trout. Another baseball crush. 107 miles per hour off the back line. 413. Just like that. Trout response for the professor. And Ray Montgomery is coming out to the mound. Wonder if this an opportunity for the crowd to give a standing ovation for Kyle. Or can he work his magic and say, “I got one more.” Would love to hear him talk his way into this when he’s got to face Christian Walker. If he does, we homered off him last time. Maybe it’s giving him the opportunity to make his own decision on his own terms. And he does. Love it. Best thing you can say to a manager, I’m your best option. Christian Walker. Christian Moore is there. Kyle Hendris is through five at the Big A partner. That’s special. That’s awesome. So happy for him. By the way, I’m just kind of looking in that dugout, too, right by where Eric is at. And so many guys on the team are giving a hug to Kyle Hendricks. I mean, that’s such a great moment right there to see that respect for a guy he’s been one year. How much love and respect he has for his teammates is incredible. The Angels have a one out runner in scoring position for Guzman. He does. And that’s going to be an RBI double for Guzman. Christian Moore comes in to score. So the youngsters looking to pick up the veteran Kyle Hendricks. It’s three to two. Guzman drives in his third run of his career and his first. That’s not on a solo home run. Josh Miller out to chat with Jason Alexander. More one out base runner here in the seventh. That’s Goosebond will be the batter. That ball punched into center. Is going to be down for a hit. Good break by Moore. He’s going to try to head to third. The throw by Cole will be on the money. What a throw by Zack Cole. Cutting down Christian Moore for the second out of the inning. A BB from center. Didn’t get the scannery report. Zack Cole’s got a cannon and he finally got to show it off. Did a great job of charging. Christian Moore made the decision and then the throw from Zack Cole made a pay. Oh, Porter looking in the dugout to see if they’re going to challenge, but there are no challenges. They’re out of challenges and it’s going to be Chris Taylor who’s going to pinch hit for Mona. Runner at second base. This ball hit to right. Cam Smith on the run. Still going and he won’t get there. It’s going to be a tie game. Smith drops the ball, but Taylor stays at first. Goosebond scores the run and just like that we’re tied at three here in the seventh. So the veteran Chris Taylor comes in and does just enough inside outing this one and just punching it the other way. 3-3 bottom eight. I think we got the right guy at the plate. Mike Trout has homered in this game. That is hit well out to right center field. Let’s go. And he’s gone. Number 403 for Mike Trout. Second of the night. And more importantly, it gives the Halos the lead in the bottom of the eighth. What a swing for Trout the other way on that one. He did get that fast ball. He’s playing spoiler with that swing. Trout now with 32 career home runs against the Astros. Kenley Jansen looking for his 29th save of the season. The Astros have had some late inning heroics against Kinley Jansen in the past. Do they have any more left in them? Goes down on strikes. Jansen picks up the first out. Raone Aras will stride to the plate trying to hold up and a swing for out number two. Three pitch strike out for Jansen and the Astros down to their final out in a game they desperately need. Went too far and the Astros lose a big one tonight. And the Astros playoff hopes continue to

❤️😇⚾🔥🙏☝️💪🤟
やっぱりエンゼルスが勝つのは
嬉しい😆応援してるよ❗
If they eliminate the Astros from playoff contention the same year they swept the dodgers twice we may need to throw a parade
Why would he throw home with 2 outs in a pickle? He should’ve faked the throw home n tagged the runner before he got home
go halos (2026)
Wow two home runs for Mike tonight 👼👼👼😇😇😇
Let's GO ANGELS!!!
Trout2ホームラン嬉しすぎるよ…!
トラウトここに来て5戦4発。何よりこの時期にトラウトのプレーを見られるのが幸せすぎる
Let’s gooo halos
I hope we resign Chris Taylor. He has been a lifesaver for the angels.
The Angels' season will have a successful season if they win this series and kick Astros off the post season. If only they also did the same to the Mariners instead of getting swept.
Sticking to the Astros always makes me happy.
