Steelers vs Ravens 2008: The Most Violent AFC Championship Ever Played🔥
[Applause] with Hushka and the Ravens. And it’s a short high kick but only travels to the 14. It’s Russell and he hurdles and drags three or four with him. Yes, he got blocked. Just run over on the kickoff and very shaky. Actually was going to the wrong sideline. His teammates had to help him over to the Ravens sideline. They protect Rothlesburgger. Amazing time and tosses. Washington had it for a moment and it got jarred loose by Ed Reed because they want this Baltimore defense to declare what they’re going to do. They’re going to do are they going to blitz me? Are they going to drop? Lining up with defensive end who’s also a backup tight end for the Ravens and they’re in on Rothberger and they get him with Nata and Price. What a good job by Nata moving behind his and sneaking in and getting that sack and they all the Raven defenders said. Blitz Rothllessberger deep ball caught Holmes. They say he’s down inches shy of the goal line. What a job by Rothllessberger hanging in there. Throws off his back foot. Look at the blitz. Ray Lewis comes in untouched. He knows Here comes the safety blitz. Rothllessberger always good at shaking it off. Gets the pass away and just throws it away back of the end zone. That was Nakamura who was coming in on Big Ben. Yeah, man. When you break the pocket, we Oh, boy. We saw it with Chad Penny with the Miami Dolphins. Second and six. Parker, that’s Jim Leonard running up quickly. How about that? Listen, here he comes untouched. Really? Well, that’s what he is. He’s a blitzer from the outside. So, these last two snaps, he’s back out. Second and short. Balls out. Recovered by the Ravens. Recovered by Jim Leonard. They make the most of it. Here comes Ray Lewis across the formation. Arm behind it. You see it’s loose and that’s why it comes out. Here’s the snake. Flaco. Second chance. Second effort. Joe Flaco goes right with him. There’s no power behind this. Look at over the top. Oh my gosh, he’s got him. No surge. And he’s stopped way short, but this Parker grace the rice run and Flaco hit when he throws it to hold it just a little bit. It allows Boy, look at Woodley coming over top of the blocker. That’s why when you’re a running back, third and 10. Now he does. That’s good for the first. And this is what they excel at when you give him time and let him get his feet set. Joe Flackle can deliver down the field with just about anybody in the NFL. Ryan Clark with the hit. Landed on it, but he was able to walk off without much of a limp. Flaco. everyone around him and he goes down for the sack. You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers trying to just control the Oh, hands to the face. Going to get it for the It’s going to get it for the retaliation. Yes, that’s what it is. Don’t wait for the blockers. Just try to take it. Well, as you watch this game, you see Frank Walker going. And now Walker, the replacement starter for Samari Roll. This puts them in a pinch when you start shifting guys around. Darren Stone Stone, one of the backups, was hurt on the opening kickoff. And that’s what put probably Cory Ivy in the play. The second 9 and 17 to ever advance to a Super Bowl, joining the Rams of 79 as that passes over the head of the Weldy Moore. Rothlessberger hit on the arm when he threw it. And they’ve got it turned around and now they’re forcing the Steelers, can you find a way to get it moving in your direction. The offense grabbing hold of that one. Third down and eight. They blitz again. It’s Carter coming in on him. Incomplete over the head. There’s two Butchers coming. Willis McGee. He can’t get them both. It’s throw it down the field along the side. Over just a year ago today. Head coach of the Ravens. Big penalty though. Rothllessberger looking around goes with the short option to Miller and Lima Swede comes in and throws a devastating block on Cory Ivy which the crowd reacts to. picks up 14. Swed takes out a little of his frustration on Ivy who is still down. This is Rice on the goal line. He absorbs a couple of hits. 10,000 yd career man. Flaco has the football. Pullman knows that and he makes him pay. I could have gone and got some extra yards, but we’ve seen it with both teams on the perimeter. These defenders attack the line of scrimmage once somebody gets outside. We see if the linebackers the Ravenberger [Applause] twisting around twice as sandwiched by Nata and Douglas all season. Now, just when you call on it, it’s Mlan finally getting a carry. Well, this was what they wanted to do. The Baltimore Ravens. James Harrison coming from the outside where he’s going to help in pass coverage. Reacts to the run. How’s that for reacting to the run? And what a hint. Times in places where you’re not used to. Fakes to Parker. Wants to go screen. Jams it in there. Bart Scott. Bangs him back on Parker by Bart Scott. Another one to add to the collection. Second down 10. That’s Woodley. Woodley getting the sack. Field in Pittsburgh. [Applause] Ber gets the first down target. It’s Swede with the catch. A lot of moving. You got four blitzers from the right, three to the left, seven guys coming. They only had six blockers, but they pushed it to the outside. So Ben Rothlersburgger was able to stand in there and throw to the one-on-one coverage down the field. Nice throw again. There’s Bart Scott, but he’s too late. Early 13 running away from the hit. No, Suggs chases him down. Wow. How about Suggs informed us there was a personal foul penalty, and it’s an obvious one. That’s a dumb one. Darren Stone, you’re hurting your football team. Wow. Did you see the coaches of the Ravens like one, what are you doing going to lose a couple correct some of my mistakes when I overcommit? He covers for me. Gee unable to get to his feet right away. Look at the pursuit. Look at the angles. Everybody in good position. He’s had knee issues. McGee, you can see Clark fell on that leg earlier in this quarter. Frier was coming in and the Steelers still get the sack. It is Lamar Woodley against Steelers defense. So what do you do in crunch time? Well, you don’t sit back and hope to win a game. You force the issue. And James Barrier comes to the outside, makes Joe Flackle steps up and that’s what causes the sack. Picked off Paulo. Palamalu going right. The field is open. Aaron Smith shields. Flaco. Paulo takes it home. Super Bowl 43. Pittsburgh might be bound for that thanks to number 43. What a hit. Balls out. recovered by Timmons. Ryan Clark is still down. So too is Willis McGee. And they say fumble recovery Pittsburgh. Now they’re going to take Willis McGee [Applause] in the X-ray room to third and 11. Careful now as Raposberger throws that one out of bounds. Now we have the two-minute warning. Flaco throws another good link but incomplete in fact knocking it loose. The secondary is as rough and tough as the front seven. Flaco ball in the air and intercepted by Carter. That will do it. Steelers are going to the Super Bowl. 111 to go. Flaco throws his second interception of the quarter. Third of the game. [Applause] Well, the pressure on the defense that puts on Joe Flacco off target with another throw. Mike Tom’s going to be the youngest coach ever to take a team to the Super Bowl. Thank you. is official. Super Bowl 43 will match up Arizona. [Music]

I wanted to keep this one simple. No extra audio, no extra nonsense.. Just the some footage of one of the most brutal matches I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t even like there were a ton of scuffles.. It was just two heavy weight teams throwing haymaker after haymaker. Some of the QB hits weren’t so awful but it really is strange to see how hitting the QB hard used to be such an important factor of the game. Seeing Ngata drop all of his weight down on Ben seemed brutal and odd to think that’s automatically a penalty today. I don’t dislike the game for changing, it is what it is.
A lot of negative Steelers highlights in here but that really wasn’t the point of the video. I kept some pretty big plays in there too.. Just for some sweet nostalgia. I’ll also probably use this game for some more videos.

The most violent game ever played. No extra fluff — just raw footage from one of the most brutal matchups ever. Two heavyweights throwing haymakers, shot after shot

The most overrated game ever played. Boring as hell.
Bring this back plz 😢
This was a mans sport. No boys here lol
I believe Madden 09 for the PS3 was based on this one game. The hits in Madden 09 are absolutely brutal, and the most violent looking of all the Madden's. This game was played in 09
Ill never forget. I was 18…
look i get wanting football to be more aggressive but that hit by clark on mcgahee is what we dont need anymore, one collision and both dudes get suicidal thoughts 15 years later and massive depression. People need to know what its like to get dangerously k.o'd before they start spoutin that bullshit about bringin old rules back
This rivalry just isn't the same today. This was peak Steelers vs Ravens
The Dupee Bowl
Clark was a mother fuxxer 🤛
17 years
Patriots vs colts
Talky talky i had to blocky blocky
Ryan Clark was a reckless maniac
Limas Sweed sighting
I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important – like a league game or something.
Famous words.
Man, I miss football!
Bring back this kinda football!
DAMN. i miss the old nfl on cbs layout. shit was peak
@5:45
That was straight up targeting
Nope. Rewind to the 70s with Steelers vs Raiders
crazy how all ts is a flag in todays game smh
I watched this live, and it was the only time I genuinely thought that I might see someone get killed during a game.
Bro why does everyone look huge lol. Jesus.
There’s football. Then there’s the AFC North.
This just proves stats from 2000-2015 are more impressive than 2015-present. So many hits on both QB's and Recivers
These dudes was trying to hurt each other bad
Why does it sound like Jim hammered the Ravens ML
Probably the most brutal game played in my lifetime. These were the guys I was trying to play like when I was young. Nuts man..
This true part of the game is lost. Football is not nearly as rough, players will never play with this amount of effort anymore for fear of penalties. These are gladiators willing to die on the gridiron.
Ryan Clark may be the only ex Steeler I cannot stand.
I forgot all about Limas Sweed putting Corey Ivy in a coffin.
What a f'n game. It'd been a while. Nice upload.
Back when players stood for the national anthem.
Wow this was real football. damn they made the game look scary
That's football, and I miss it
