The penultimate game of the year. The Atlanta Braves hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates at True Park. Very intriguing pitching matchup for spencer Strider, his 23rd and final start of the season one pitch and one down Frilo one for four. Last night. It was 1/9 inning double. There’s a called strike on the inside corner. The curveball gets Triolo two up and two down and Reynolds a couple of hits last night. What a good first inning for spencer Strider 123 with a couple of strikeouts. Bubba Chandler takes the mound here in Atlanta pitching in his home state as a major leaguer for the first time. A lot of excitement around tonight for Bubba and his family. One down here comes matt Olson. His next home will be his 30th. He gets a slow roller to first and he covers two down. Here’s ronald Acuna Junior and a ground ball short, Chandler enjoys a 123 bottom of the first and the family loves it. No scoring in the top of the second. His strider and Chandler both blitz through their half of the first inning, each pitcher using just seven pitches. Spencer Horowitz leads off of the Pirates. First pitch is hit hard on the ground pass first and to right a base hit another hit in this ballpark for spencer Hoitz. Four hits in this series brings nick Gonzalez to the plate. He was two for five in the game last night Gonzalez with a chopper to short could be to kim to Brett wisely to matt and that’s a double play two down for Joey Bart, another Georgia native 2 to 0 on Bart and he swings and lines one over second into right for the is coming up and that hit him. How could miss him to a here is Rael Flores on one bounce wisely makes the play and Strider is out of it with no damage done, scoreless. Heading to the bottom of the second Baldwin leads off. He hits this deep to left and that one is going to go banging off the wall. Drake might have a triple another bullet point on that resume for rookie of the year. Now in the hands of Marcelo Zuna , no score bottom of the second. Braves got a leadoff triple from Drake Baldwin got to find a way to get him in line drive base hit and an RB I to give Atlanta the lead short to the baseball that’s to get the hands above it and don’t try to do too much putting Atlanta on the board first and now Nacho Alvarez Junior on the 22 pitch swinging and struck him out first strikeout for Chandler tonight. Braves cash in the leadoff triple one Atlanta as we go to the third inning. Here’s Henry davis and this is driven deep to left and, oh, Henry clear the deck with a cannonball just like that. It’s tied at one. Boy. It’s tough to hit a guy like strider when you’re behind the count. Zero and two because of the weapons. But Henry davis up there ready to hit two strike hanging curveball and Henry knew it right away to at one into the bottom of the third inning. Chandler goes back to work. Why is the zero for two in last night’s game? Oh my, there’s no fear that 100 back to back strikeouts dating back to last inning. Here’s profar swing and a miss threw it right by him 100 miles an hour. It just bailed out three straight strikeouts for Chandler got Matt in the ground out of the first brother, another 100 down the middle. He strikes out his fourth straight three in a that was impressive. Ronald A Cunha junior leading off the bottom of the fourth deep third Triolo on the, one of the best plays of the year for Jared Triolo. What a play so good. Really not missing anything with Triolo Hayes was traded away. He’s done this all year. He just makes plays the angle going to his right nice stretch on the other end. Flores. What a play now, Drake Baldwin, Baldwin to right field. This time that one drops, he’s going to try for two and he’s in there a triple in the second, a double in the fourth for Drake Baldwin two down for Michael Harrows. And he grounds this to the left side, but he’s going to be it out tough play for Gonzalez. He couldn’t get it done and they are at the corners and continues for Ozuna two, two swing and a bouncer right back to Chandler walk it halfway to first and get it on over for the final out. Bubba Chandler allows a couple of hits and leaves them both on to the fifth inning from Atlanta. So the banner leading off the swinging, the ball lined in the right base hit and he goes down and gets that slider nice even swing and he’s on with a leadoff single one. He takes off pitches the ball down low and off stolen base for the, he’s a board two on and nobody out for the Pirates and Henry davis is coming up called strike right where it needed to be two down. Jared Triolo, one for two. Yes, he went. Triolo is down on strikes two stranded. We are halfway home on a Saturday at Trues park. One out strider faces spencer Hoitz line drive off the glove. Actually the glove and the ball leaving. Now the throw from wise he gets past Olson another hit for Horowitz as the line drive literally takes the glove off of the Braves second baseman. He’s on at first with one away and one on Gonzalez. That’s crack to right center feed and that’s a gap shot Spencer Horwitz going to be waved home by Rebelo. Here’s no throw and it’s an RB I double for Nicky G to give the Pirates a 21 lead in the sixth inning. Very well hit slicing away from the center fielder Harris once it got over his head, Louie would be able to get around there and score easily way outside. Big slider that time ball four and Barton will walk Jack Soins. Nice line drive single to write his last time up van with two on and one out and into left field off the glove of the shortstop. Kim. So Winski makes it 3 to 1. Pirates get two to grab the lead 3 to 1. Buckholz bottom of the sixth inning. Mama Chandler back out there for the Pirates. Nay Mattson way into the night sky out of there. Oh, it’s dropped. Davis had it pop out of his catcher Smith where they call interference on Matt Olsen. Ryan sticker joins the discussion. I mean that ball was up in the air forever. Now, if there was some contact there for Matt Olsen, it is your obligation to get out of the way , but still is there contact between him and davis? I mean that’s matt Olson is obviously zero intent there. He doesn’t know where the ball is. Ryan Snicker. Matt Olsen Ron’s gonna come get him and Brians Sticker just got ejected by brock ball and he is going after Mark Wegner, he got his money’s worth. He certainly did. Brian Snitker ejected here in game 161. Matt Olson not ejected, but you can see he’s still hot. I don’t blame him. Chandler trying to quarterback the Pirates to a win here in Atlanta, but Chandler not one pop up and a strikeout and he’s one out away from putting the finishing touches on an absolutely phenomenal start back home. That’s six strikeouts for Bubba Chandler standing ovation from his family and the family said very well deserved from Bubba Chandler tonight. Just a great performance as we went away. Matt Olsen was ejected by home plate umpire brock ball. Brian Snicker is gone and matt Olsen is gone as well. Yelled toward the dugout. I don’t want to hear it anymore. And for the first time in his career, the mild mander, Matt Olson was ejected. Dennis Santana is on here in a 3 to 1 ball game. One out to ronald. A cunha sends it down the right field line. It’s fair. Little bloop single. Hopefully that can start a rally here in the night run to the plate and it is Drake Baldwin Ronald takes off. He’s in there but he goes down a changeup and Then the Braves down to their final out has song Kim to the plate to center field. Sowinski raised the Jolly Roger , the Buckholz win the first two games of this series and they win their first series ever here at Truest Park and they’ve now won six of their last seven on this final road trip of 2025.
