Reds vs. Brewers Game Highlights (9/27/25) | MLB Highlights
The Brewers host the Cincinnati Reds here at American Family field with the number one seed in the national league at stake. If the Brewers win today, they’ll wrap that up. It’ll also be a franchise record 97th win of the season. The Reds will have to wait for a potential clinching scenario but they can still make it on their own with a win today and a win tomorrow. And robert Gasser, the lefty goes to work for the Brewers Gasser. Only one start in the major league level three innings. September 21st against the Cardinals one away for Noel Marte. There’s a strike out for as he in the second half. So after two quick outs for robert Gasser, he gives up the single to Andújar and now the walk after getting ahead of steer initially. Now here’s the rookie Sal Stewart who was called up at the end of August. There it is. And it’s three Stewart goes down couple of base runners, but they’re both stranded by the Reds. The Brewers Andrew Abbott made his major league debut and earned his first career win against Milwaukee back in June of 2023 6 innings of shutout work. Then he’s been so consistent bouncing ball up the middle, diving stop by mclean to his right to lead things off. And now here’s Rice Tang 21 from Abbott Fly left side. Steer running out of room and up against the screen. He makes the catch. Spencer. Steer had no room to spare and he somehow reels it in. He went a long way. Look at the guy, you guys hoping that ball trying to blow it foul into the Dev. A nice play by Steer out there in left and there’s two away and here’s andrew Von. The pitch is lined to right in. Comes Marte toward the line to me side retired. The inning is over. So a nice shot by Abbott work around the leadoff single first pitch to de La Cruz is on the ground sharply hit diving Ortiz and it is possible to get a ground ball past Ortiz aboard to start the second inning. I think that and Gasser misfires and hits Stevenson 1st and 2nd and nobody out for Cincinnati. Here’s Brian Hayes two on nobody out a ground ball up the middle , backhanded stop by a get the out at first. De La Cruz and Stevenson move up now, mclean with a chance to pick up a couple of RBIs right now. Chopper to third backhanded by Duran comes home with it. The tag applied by Jansen. They got him. They cut down Ellie de La Cruz on a ground ball to third. That is a huge second out and perfectly played by Durbin. It could have been a better running route by Lie de La Cruz. He ran entirely in foul territory though. So now 1st and 2nd and 2 outs, gas 12 grounded first base side Vaughn is there and the race to the back to the Marte power right fielder is going to lead things off here for Cincinnati breaking ball soft chopper toward the third base line off the mound like a cat but a bad throw to first and it pulls Vaughn off the bag as he dives for the throw headed to right field. If not for Vaughn’s diving stop and Marte will reach safely. Now the bat is, and this is driven to left field on a line. It gets down for a and the diving Collins all the way to the wall. Marte will be held at third. A scorching line drive under the glove of Collins and Duar has his second hit of the night and the Reds are in business with second third and nobody out if Stewart can get the job done, Stewart rips it right back up the middle. A cap spinner into center, it will score Marte and Duar is stopped at third on the line drive. Go ahead RB I single by Sal Stewart one to nothing reds on the bullet. Kelly with a shallow fly out two down in the third and Gasser has an opportunity to limit the damage to just the one run. It is a breaking ball and its off the outside corner for ball four and the Reds have loaded the bases. See if he makes the move to Miski, would you bring him into the game in a bases loaded situation? He will interesting stuff early here in Milwaukee, a tale of two seasons for Jacob Miski before and after his eye sin, it’s his first career major league relief appearance. He has done it at the minor league level. No room for eric Hayes. The batter in front of home, Miski stumbles off the everybody is safe. Key. Brian Hayes with a swinging bunt drives home the second run of the night for Cincinnati doesn’t matter how hard you hit it, the exit velocity is not gonna be high. It’s not gonna be an analytical darling, but it’s a knock and an RB I in a two nothing lead and there’s nothing Miski could do the bases loaded for Matt mclean high and outside ball four and Misura has walked in a run Stewart dashes home from third. They’re still loaded. And now TJ Friedel comes to the plate, the ninth man to bat in this three run reds third, swing a line drive base hit left field , one run home. Here comes Hayes to the plate around to third mclean. The throw goes to third, he threw it away over by the dugout. The plane will score Friedel in the second, get three and it’s six to nothing in the third. That is the type of mistake that you never ever ever see the Milwaukee Brewers make and that is an extreme meltdown. The Brewers have a leadoff base runner, Joe Ortiz. This is driven to center field going back to the. So in the third, he held there with a double to the deepest part of the park. You got to shut this inning down. You can’t make this a big inning for the Brewers to give him hope. Grounded up the middle by that will get a run scores. Milwaukee is on the board. The second run of the inning is 90 ft away with Jackson Chio coming to the plate and he strikes out to, that was a big strikeout for Abbott and it was his first of the outing two are out. Now, Bryce Durant first pitch swinging going back into the corner. That’s a very Ortiz scores and it’s an RB I double for Bryce Tang to make it 62. I thought he was going to have, it would have been a very difficult catch though Collins off the Milwaukee fourth swing and a miss struck him out breaking ball down and in, and Collins is the first out of the fourth. Here’s Caleb Durbin swinging a little soft tapper to the right side. Abbott bounces on it like a cat at first base backed up by mclean great job by mclean to back it up just beside himself at that, just trying to throw it two softly with one out. Here’s Blake Perkins and on one hop it’s scooped up by de Laz at second. The flip for one on to first impressively turned 643 off. A tricky hop. Here’s Spencer Steer here is a liner and a leaping catch by Ortiz. Nice play by Joey. It has been a pleasure to watch Joey Ortiz play shortstop all season long. Here’s Sal Stewart fly ball deep right off the bat of Stewart back. It goes, it is gone into the Reds bullpen. Stewart, an opposite field home run into the Reds bullpen. The Reds have added on 72 in the sixth inning. We have said this time and time again, this kid can hit a fastball. You’re going to see a lot of those off. His, his fifth home run already still out there on the mound for the Reds and Jackson Chia will lead things off for the crew. A pretty deep going back. Jackson Cher answers a solo homer to bring the deficit back to fourth leadoff homer for Chur in the home half of the sixth Cincinnati’s bullpen getting loose. Andrew Abbott trying to get through six here. 2 to 2 grounded hard. First base side steer is there with Andrew Vaughn coming to the plate. Terry Francona will go to a young arm out of the bullpen. Terry Francona sings the praises of Connor Phillips his rookie who in Francona’s words has saved her. You know what, andrew Vaughn to the plate here for Milwaukee and it’s a four pitch walk, get into another one here and all of a sudden it makes this game very interesting. Here’s isaac Collins shaky for Connor Phillips coming out of the bullpen. He has to deal with traffic. Now, jake Bowers just popped out of the dugout. He’s going to hit here for Blake Perkins base hit. He will score and the Brewers are within three, a soft line drive for Bowers. It’s an RBI single Francona with a call to the bullpen Ashcraft coming off for the 62nd. Detention is for real when you’re in a pit chase, a playoff chase every pitch pitch of the at bat ball four and the tying run is on the bases are loaded. Stop me. If you’ve heard this one before Joey Ortiz is going to hit with the bases loaded 29 at bats with the bases loaded this year for Joey Ortiz Club record. And you can feel the tension starting to shift into that reds third base dugout two shot first base and inning over Brewers will settle for the two. It’s 7 to 4. Cincinnati hitting 227 12 homers, 41 RBS behind the air deep to right back. It goes at the wall right at the jake B back right at the wall. He just got under it a little bit too much two away. Now for Danny Jansen, this is Ben will make the catch on the Cincinnati up by three so it’ll be an infield single for Matt mclean and now Friedel comes to the plate with two on and two away of the payoff. The LS take off its strike, three Friedel strikes out appears to be coming in against Ortiz yelling. Chan Reds are up 7 to 4 bottom of the ninth inning Reds hold on win tomorrow would punch the ticket to the postseason and now they go with Emilio Pagan who is only the second pitcher this season in the big leagues to pitch on four consecutive games. Tyler Ferguson of the A’s back in May. There’s the other, how about this move AJ for the Reds to try to close this out and set up a on Sunday and Frelick down on strikes to begin the ninth one away for Christian Jelic and Jelic pops it up left side. Brian Hayes called off by de La Cruz two gone 74 Reds. Nobody on two outs in the night. The Reds are out away from being a win away from heading to the playoffs and a date with the Dodgers two to two pitch. Chur groundball to short de La Cruz backhand throws, got him. The Reds magic number is down to one. It all comes down to Sunday, a win and they’re in game one, 62 for all the marbles.

Win it and in it, cmon reds please 🙏
The Reds are still alive. It will be very important tomorrow for them. Good luck.
5:13 who was he throwing to?
Reec
Reds are hungry and want that last postseason berth
明日が最終決戦!
ワイルドカードを手に入れられるか?
The miz has become the bust, brewers are in trouble going into the post season, with absolutely no momentum.
The Brewers are giving the Reds these victories. They don't want to face the Mets and risk being eliminated in the playoffs again. The Cubs did the same thing and let the Reds sweep them to try and keep the Mets out. The fix is in and this is the script.
brewers is very obvious 😂
Thank you Lord for giving us ALL the talents and abilities to perform for your Glory. 😊 Amen.
Jacob Misiorowski being an All Star over like 10 better pitchers who all had more innings than him by like 100 is one of the biggest insults to modern MLB in history.
They getting beat tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Brewers imploding again at the wrong time of the year
Tomorrow is Win or go home for the Reds. Can they pull it off?
Another wonderful day 🙂
I’ve been on DeLacruz cause of mental errors and chasing sliders in the dirt at the plate… however, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shortstop with a rocket arm like he possesses. I’ve watched 60+ years of shortstops… that arm of his is a quantum leap. Jesus ! Hitting will go up and down always… but that arm… please win tomorrow. I love ur franchise. Always have. Big White Sox Guy, Chicago
Why did the Reds look sooo worried & stressed when they basically had this game won. Did they realize they Poked the Bear & Woke the Brewers up. They actually scored a few runs 🤯. The Brewers might win big later today But, It’s tough to win when you have nothing to play for & I believe the Brewers are going to have a tough time getting hungry again & actually get to & Win The WS. Especially after a Bye. As for the Mets ? Well I believe they are going to start a left hander today & either one of them have enough gas to complete anymore than 3 innings
Is Joey Ortiz Mexican? I heard he's eligible to play for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.
Brewers lowk falling off bru. I’m a padres fan and we just beat them in a series and we prolly shouldn’t have since they’re like the second best team in baseball 😭
Thanks Brewers. I like miller high life. Cheers
Reds and Mets are slugging out for the final spot for post season all the way to final game. If Reds wins again, they will be in the post season. Dayum, it's playoff for both Reds and Mets before the playoff even start.
The Brewers are choking at the worst possible time and the Cubs/Padres are going to run through them if they keep playing this sloppy. Get your W, Reds!
Reds win and they're in
Reds lose but the mets lose too , reds are in
Reds lose and the Mets win then it's the mets that are in
Brewers were sloppy out in the field several times tonight. They better pull up their socks and get back to that winning form they had during the season.
LET'S GO BREWERS!!! ❤❤❤ 🇨🇦
Mira cómo los cerveceros juegan. Haciendo errores 😅. Le van a dar la serie a los rojos porque no les convienen que New York entre a los playoff.
The Brewers are giving the Reds these victories. They don't want to face the Mets and risk being eliminated in the playoffs again. The Cubs did the same thing and let the Reds sweep them to try and keep the Mets out. The fix is in and this is the script.
I remember when the A's had Tyler Ferguson pitch in 4 straight games. All the A's had to do was beat the Mariners, and they were in first place. They got one out, and he blew the save, and soon after, the A's lost 20 of 21 games, ruining their season. I was pissed at Kotsay for doing that…
Collins did not look like Collins.
Hope the brewers aren’t running out of gas at the wrong time once again, they seem to choke every year right at the playoffs, don’t want that to continue
Common Reds ❤⚾🥰You can do it ❤⚾🥰
Brewers first round exit like always ….every year same story
Come on Reds you can do it
메츠 보다가 얘네 보니까 눈이 정화되네 ㅋㅋㅋ
The brewers have lost there sparkel Collins is asleep at the wheel miz is not ready for prime time and the rest of the team looks lost..Yelich needs to kick start this team before they go one and done
