Dodgers vs. Mariners Game Highlights (9/27/25) | MLB Highlights

Both these teams have locked in their position in the postseason. Whatever happens, the last couple of days of the season beginning tonight doesn’t matter a whole lot. Kind of an odd feeling right now. They’ve got two really big time starting pitchers facing off against one another here tonight. First for the Mariners, Logan Gilbert ryan, who is last six starts in, er, a under 2.5, barely batting 200 against him and he’s been so good. Of course, right here inside t-mobile park. Look even for him, this is gonna be an important start because, you know, he’s going to be a huge factor start in one of those big games in that playoff series. So can he repeat what he did against the Houston Astros last time where he was so dominant, finishing off that sweep Edmond into shallow center field. Julio Trots in quick first out there are a couple of regulars back in the lineup today that we did not see last night for the Dodgers the game after they clinched Otani given the night off. That is a great disappointment. I would say to most everybody inside the ballpark tonight. Freddie to left center field that will drop for a hit, rare hit off the splitter. Talk about how good that pitch has been for Logan Gilbert. There’s just over 100 on it and Freddie Freeman, his swing path. I know it’s off the end of the bat, didn’t hit it hard. The point is only freddie, I mean, his ability to reach, go out, wait, stay with this pitch enough to get it in a Andy Paz Randy coming up, he’s there and he makes the catch chest high on the run and that’s gonna retire the outer glass now, big stuff, long extension coming off the mound. He is a tough one. Can he figure out the command because you know what, tonight’s a big night for him. It may be a little bit shortened , but he’s auditioning to play a role in his upcoming series of the wild card. And Then on through the playoffs for the Dodgers is fair and there’s no play. Randy is aboard in front of Cal Raleigh. Not many cracks left of this one for Cal. They come in bunches too. That catch record hit two in the knot. Mickey mantle. Same thing. Everybody waiting for Cal to hit number 61. He works it in just inside the zone. Strike three called grounder to hernandez at third base chance to get Julio over there at first , Randy cut down at second. So two outs and julio is aboard Julio wide throw. Not even close and Julio swipes his 29th. He’s one back shy of a 30 to 30 season. Julio breaking for third. He walks his in Julio Rodriguez his 30th stolen base this year becoming the first Mariner all time with multiple 3030 seasons. Unbelievable Mariners only 3, 3030 seasons. Julio has had two of those three that has been the Bugaboo for Tyler Glassell throughout this year. It’s been the walks that have held him back first pitched to third is there and it over goes to second anyway, just in case there is a force up, but that ends the inning. Here is Leo, this finds right field, a base hit. A keeps the inning alive for Harry Ford getting his first start in the big leagues tonight on the ground right away. Harry Ford waits no time his first hit in the show. Harry Ford, welcome to Seattle. I mean, if getting your first major league hit isn’t sweet enough. You got a future Hall of Famer, Freddie Freeman. A pat on the back over there. How cool is that? Welcome to the big leagues. Harry Ford’s top prospects at baseball back and now he’s on for a rose arena 1st and 3rd 2 out poked in the air to right field camped out that ends the inning. He struck out in the first inning. He’s now punched out four times in six plate appearances. This series now sits him down again, same slot too as he got Cal on the first strikeout fastball in. Here comes back with a slider in Raleigh tried to cheat a little bit. You see him hoping his hips thinking it was going to be a fastball in. It’s a slider down. Two strikeouts for glass. Now, both against Cal Raley score Mariners and Dodgers Rodriguez Rocket one over the head of glass and with some magic that has everybody here at T Mobile Park doesn’t matter if you are in Dodger Blue or Mariner applauding two outs to be remain empty glass. Now gets Polanco staring book ending. K’s for the right hander. Last out tonight goes three innings. His final tune up before October Ford goes out to the mound and have a talk with Logan thinking it’s going to be his last hitter here trying to get him through 57 pitch of the night from Gilbert and rushing rockets the ball deep. Right. He gives the Dodgers a lead rush with an ambush in a two run blast. Gets the slider that he wants and look at up in the zone after the time out called Dalton rushing reading it straight out of the hand blast that 100 and nine miles an hour out to right field Dodgers on the board two zip here in the fifth. Here’s Julio the tying run at the plate on the ground to the right side for a base set cal into second Julio, the base hit one out of 21. Yeah, julio just wearing that right field. Once again, it’s a pitch down in the way and the hitters counts been doing some damage to especially the second half. Here’s Jorge Polanco tying runs aboard cal on at second. Julio at first base. One out fly ball on. Goodbye. Baseball, Jorge Polanco with number 25 on the year and the Mariners have the lead 3 to 2 over the Dodgers, a three run drive by Jorge Polanco scores Cal Raley and Julio on it in front of him and everybody on their feet here at T Mobile Park. So it’ll be up to KK hernandez on a 11. He pokes it to right field off the end of the bat and it is down for a hit will go from first to the third, the tying run 90 ft away. Dodgers trail 3 to 2 at the corners with two outs in the seventh. Dalton rushing home his last time up in the dirt skips away. Harry Ford tries to backhand him getting around. It turned his glove around and he tries to backhand. It gets off of his shoulder and now the go ahead run in scoring position with #### going to second, swung on broken bat. Slow roller, Polanco scoops it up off the chops throws on the move to first to get the out a little bit differently than he started out, but he moves the runners over to 2nd and 3rd with one knock way, get jammed and the runners to 2nd and 3rd two in scoring position for Quique Hernandez Infield in for the Mariners launch to left arose arena running after it. He’s not gonna get it. He gave her breaks the tie eight in a row. A new Dodger record in the live ball era with this bullpen and this month, but it’s been a weakness turning into a strength tonight eight straight strikeouts. Mariners down to their last out. The two from Enriquez got him swinging the Dodgers put Seattle to sleep with nine straight strikeouts to end the game. I’m impressed with everyone who came out of the bullpen but Ardo Henriquez, are you kidding me? 100 and two miles an hour consistently top of the zone mixed in the slider but no chance Riva Ford and Arosa Rena three straight to end this game. Beautiful job from the bullpen for the Dodgers in the bottom of the order. Five hits for them for extra bases. The biggest one, the last one #### hernandez with a two run. Go ahead double in the top of the ninth inning. The Dodgers clinch this series.
