
On September 27, 1991, the Kings played in the first outdoor NHL game before 13,007 fans outside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tony Granato, Brian Benning, Sylvain Couturier, Jari Kurri and Wayne Gretzky scored for the Kings in a 5-2 win over the Rangers.

This is such a cool piece of history. I have older Kings fan friends who remember attending this. I was 3 at the time. But the following season I went to my first Kings game, so I can say I saw the Great One in Black and White.
I was there! Terrible event. The ice had so many ruts in it players were complaining they would get hurt.
The spectacle of it was the whole point but still…not awesome.
