  1. Biggest improvement from Zac is that the O got to the line with 15secs on the clock so they could actually get the motions done and see what the D is doing

  2. I’m glad we won(really, barely, 1 score) but all the hallmarks of last week were still here. Commies were missing a lot of key starters and you can say we are missing some as well but not QB1, RB1.. can you imagine if we had to play our third stringer and just Algier?(only saying that cause Kirk is technically speaking a QB1 thats a backup currently)… we’d be awful.

Still had: shitty clock management… I guess plays are finally on time though?
Still had: dumbest fucking screens on the planet
Still had: giving up third and fucking forever
Still had: some predictable play calling.. finally a little less so, but still largely the same.. lets say they knocked 10% off each type…
Still depending on Bijan to do magic bullshit that nobody else can.. which is great, but the team shouldn’t have to live or die based on his play.. he is going to get hurt some day and we will be fucked… no disrespect to Algier, he is a great counterpart to Bijan.

I still contend Penix bad play last week was because of predictable shitty offensive scheme and not getting plays in on time. Hes a rhythym passer and wasn’t ever able to get comfortable.. and not because of the defense but because our fucking coaches are godamned morons.

These coaches might buy themselves another year but the cieling for this team is still probably not play offs.

  3. huge win heading into the bye and icing on the cake that the rest of the division lost. no notes, penix looked great, but now there’s a tough bills game coming up.

  4. Can’t have Alford on the field at all. He is a complete liability out there and has zero ball skills.

  5. Pros:

Offense and Penix had a great rebound from last week. Shows they have mental toughness. Despite the boneheaded int I think this was one of, if not the best game by MP9 so far. Deep ball and accuracy were overall pretty great. London and Pitts looked solid.

Bijan and Tyler might be the best 1-2 punch at RB in the league.

ZRob called a much better game today. Not perfect but more variety with the play calling, including the play action, was a step in the right direction.

Defensive rookies continued to look solid, especially X. Could be the steal of the draft.

    Romo looked much better.

    Cons:

Defense was clearly hurting without AJ. Alford is a terrible CB1 and questionable CB2 at best. Would love to see a guy like Kobe get a shot if AJ isn’t back after the bye.

Rah clock management continues to be trash.

Hope Mooney isn’t out long because WR depth is also slim.

Bad pick by Penix, totally on him. However, he didn’t seem to let it affect him too much.

Overall, the team showed they could rebound from a piss poor showing, which is good. Penix showed he has that franchise QB potential. Consistency will be this team’s Achilles heel all season.

  6. Plenty to clean up still. 1 score game in the end to a backup QB does not sit well. We do not win that game with Jayden Daniels in there. Holy hell did they get the big plays when they needed them to stay in it. If like 3 plays go wrong they barely have 100 yards on offense and we win by 3+ scores. Special teams has had… One good game this year? They need to tighten it up. Final stat lines for the D looks better than the scoreboard would indicate. Unsure if I should believe the stats… Or the scoreboard more. Think Mariota may have played a bigger role in those numbers than our D did…. Anyway we have a Bye to heal up and continue to gel. Bit earlier than I would like ideally but at a pretty good time for us 2-2 with a LOT of ups and downs so far this season.

Bounce back win is great. 300+ through the air for Penix making some tough down field throws was a damn nice change of pace. Pitts continues his contract year… I mean Penix chemistry driven resurgence. Riding Bijan pretty hard today, glad they went cloud of dust handoffs to Algier there at the end. Getting those 300 yards against a solid well playing D is a good sign for the future if we can make this kind of execution consistent. Don’t care where Zac is standing/sitting… He needs to continue to call more complicated and developing plays. Any NFL D facing an offence calling a tecmo bowl level playbook will shut us down. See, Carolina. Regardless of whether it was being at home or him being on the field getting the calls in with time to asses the D at the line made the biggest difference today IMHO.

Would be nice if folks on this forum would be less trigger happy with the fire everyone or Penix is cooked calls etc… Yeah, I know, call me an optimist. I’m a falcons fan afterall 😁. 7 games in and more good than bad so far from him. He is looking more than solid for a first time NFL starter with a high ceiling IF he can bring this type of play CONSISTENTLY. Expect some more down games to come. The season only gets tougher from here. We got shut out by the Panthers…. ANY GIVEN SUNDAY. Thankfully that works for us as well… Just need to do what we are capable of to the best of our ability and I think at the end of the year we will like the results barring injury bug bitting to hard or loosing too many of the 50/50 plays.

    See y’all in 2 weeks!

  7. Seems like there was LOTS more play action today. Hope they stick with that. With how we run the ball the shots will be there off PA. Defense was solid for the most part. Kickoff team needs work

  8. Penix looked FAR better. The play calls were coming in faster. I was very happy with this offense today. All of us should be.

Defense gave up three big plays I think. We clean that up and the narrative is very different right now.

We are headed in the right direction.

  9. I don’t think we win this game if Daniels played. A win is a win but there’s a bit of luck involved.

  10. Can MPJ not run a QB sneak? We’re failing to get half a yard far too often.

We’re could even put Kirk (or Felipe??) in for a sneak. But MPJ needs to learn.

  11. Defense still needs work,

Bijan is the fucking MVP of the team. 181 yards of total offense. That’s more yards than the Titans got on offense.

Good bounceback game from Penix too. Needs to keep playing better as a lot of his success was Bijan being a beast but I’m glad he’s getting back to London, we needed that connection to come back.

  12. The rest of the season, like the past ten, half of this user base hope for the best and want the team to win. Wins are what matters, and when they come, we rejoice. Get a W and call out what doesn’t work.

The other, louder, smaller half wish for failure to manifest their dream hopes for the right staff, players and they’ll post to get 200 upvotes — which is about the size of a section of a stadium. One section.

Ignore the second group. They live to hate.

  13. This game encapsulates perfectly why I don’t gamble or listen to half the dumbasses on this board.

Post after post about how Penix, after 6 starts, is a bust. Even had one fool start a thread wanting to bring in Cousins. Just knee jerk reaction bullshit after 1 bad game. Must be exhausting having to deal with y’all on a daily basis.

  14. I can honestly say that Penix looks good for his early tenure in the league. After a couple of years of experience he’s gonna be dynamite

  15. Don’t get me wrong, a win is a win, and I love when the Falcons win. But, we just barely won a game against Washington’s B-team… They still got a lot to prove.
