Detroit Tigers vs Boston Red Sox – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 28, 2025 MLB Season

Summerlike season finale at Fenway with all eyes on October. Isn’t that the way it ought to be? Game number 162. Still much to be decided actually like where is the Red Sox charter headed in 5 hours which was also part of the story for this ball club. First pitch and we are underway on Meadows at 209 with four home runs. A in the two-2 on the way and a ground ball down goes Deleó. Story will zip it over there to make the play. Deleó lost his footing. Swinging a miss. Got him on a curveball. Struck him out. Deleó. Two up and two down. Little pop up here by Justin Henry Malloy. Breu circling. He’s got it. And the veteran right-hander is driving the ball. There’s a drive sucked to right deep and it is gone. Masataka strikes and the Red Sox on the board here against Detroit right away. One to nothing. This is big here. Masa the change up. He leaves it out over the middle of the plate. Does a nice job of staying through it. It’s almost onehanded but still is the barrel. He stays back. drives this. Give the Socks shown a bunt. Dropping that down. Sidon. Here’s the throw and into the runner. They car him into right field and Sedon’s going to be safe at first. Drop down the bunt. Yeah, I’m not calling this a spring training game, but it’s still a big league game. But again, working on it, right? It is. You know, is there meaning behind it? Sure. But I love the fact that he’s worked on it. We saw it the other day. He’s taken off. Here’s the throw. It skips. It’s into the outfield. Here’s number 20. You just knew he was going immediately. Masataki Oshida and swung on and missed for strike three. The Red Sox score. Masa going yard. Maybe game three on very short rest. Caught out and miss struck him out. And a cut and a miss. Strike three. Jos Deleó strikes out three in the second road. Swinging a shot to center field off the battle low and that’s going to catch the wall. He’s trying for second. Relay throw skips off him and he’s in with a double. Shattered bat and a soft ground ball to third. Kinstry will throw out Connor Wong. Runner cannot advance and is one two. He got him curveball to strike him out. His third K in the book today, but he’s at his best. Softly hit. First baseman of Banz feeds the pitcher who gets there in time. Red Sox with a threat but strand two. Ground ball might be two up with it. Soggard is second one. And the Red Sox turn it. Two down. Deleó with something. We got 32 pitches, 26 for strikes and it didn’t come 20 struck out in the first and pops it up. Swinging at the first pitch into the sun. Soggard there. He’s got it. He had 29 bags this year. 31. Swinging of his for strike three. Did better this year. One down. The high fly to left field. Carpenter moves over into the shade. He’s got it. Base hit down the right field line at Carums and he’s going to get into second base easily. He’s got himself a walk-in double set on Raphaela. Two for two today. Don’t have to worry about that calorie rigger roll. High pop. Carpenter fighting the sun a bit and he’s got it. You’re not thinking a play like that’s going to happen, but good hustle to get there. Little looper into right. That’ll fall down for a base hit. The first two have reached in the fourth inning for the Tigers. Ground ball weekly hit. Hamilton going for a tag here. Gets just the one out. Going to be safe at first and third with one gone. 10 swinging a high drive into left field. Durant turning around watching that. It’s into the monster seats. That’s a three-run homer. So Deleó had been so impressive until this inning now looking up at Detroit. Runner takes off. Swinging a miss. Throw down into center field. Vine is heading for third. Here’s the throw behind a runner. The tag won’t get him. Just let a game happen and wherever it is, it is. Caught on a miss. Got him with a curveball. They also get three on the home run by Bayz. You have a lot of guys that have done it throughout the season. Oh, there’s a shot by Hamilton racing back Perez and it gets out of here. Damon Hamilton touches them all. when he hits them, they tend to be gone in the blink of an eye like that one was. And he ties up the ball game 33 here in game 162 into the bullpen. Liner that’s going to slice away from Carpenter. He’ll car off the running track and the wall. Going to be a play at second, but a poor throw and he’s in with a double. High fly left center deep off the wall. Here comes the run. So guard will score on the double by Durant. Deleó back to work. Socked into left field by Meadows. That catches the wall. We play at second base. A slide in and out at second. Durant with a peg from left. throw a baseball better than this tag. As soon as you catch it, you drop the glove. Perfect throw from Jiren Durant. Just catch and drop. Slides right into you. Any other throw up a left, right. He’s going to get in there. Perfect throw by Durant. Nice swing at a miss. Put him down on a knee. That was his six pitch inning and it’s 4-3 Boston. 3-2 walks him. Well, he’ll take steps to first base. Ball four round and a two-2. And a popup. Sweeney out into the outfield and will make the catch. And the runners will have to stay put. gets a one hopper and a second double play. Nice turn by the Socks and Eaton started it at the hot corner. Little roller first base. That’s fair right on top of the bag. Low gets the out number three. Get three different at least three different hotels on the line into center field and Meadows will make the play. Two down from Rainey Bay by him at 97. Red Sox lead one in the seventh. Sharply hit down Ford Eaton. Took him a couple weeks. Yes. One man away. Hits it a mile in the air but not deep to right. Got to wait on this. Wel Perez is one for three. Behind a bag scooped up by Low and a fast inning for Zack. One, two, three. They are retired in the eighth. What more do you want as a fan? Swaying in a miss. He struck him out. They lead it eight to four over Tampa Bay. Ground ball to the second baseman Bayz. Two down. And they were an exceptional team. Broken bat roller and out at first to retie the side. Red Sox as we go to the ninth inning. Swing at a miss. That was way out of the zone, but he got him to go. One down. Payoff pitch and he’s going to walk him. Round ball ranging for that. So can’t get it out of the glove and everybody’s going to be safe. Leading at first and second and the O2. Yes, that’s in there. Strike three. Buried that pitch. Two down. And a high fly left center field moving over. It’s Durant. He will make the catch. The Red Sox back in the win column. They are the number five seed. They have won their 89th.

  1. Tigers you have Greene, Torkelson, and Dingler on the bench in the ninth with the division championship on the line and don't use them? That's 80 home runs worth of bat this season and you let Sweeney at .196 Rogers at .187 both hit? With a man on base and only one out? What has this country come to? Does Hinch want to stay in Detroit?

  2. Question for Detroit Tigers fans: Do you think Jose Urquidy, currently in the minor leagues, will be promoted to the Tigers in time for the postseason and take the mound again as a Tigers player?🐯

  3. When will Marcelo Mayer be ready to play? Will he be able to play in the postseason? Will he be able to play for Mexico in the World Baseball Classic next year?

  4. Question for Red Sox fans: Is relief pitcher Brennan Bernardino still out? Will he be back on the mound in time for the postseason? What does the Boston Red Sox manager think?

  5. Limited money from John Henry, untimely injury to Roman Anthony, still managed 89 wins and a playoff spot. What a fantastic job by AC, hands down AL Manager of the Year.
