This year was my first year as a Buccos fan. While I had fun, the season was an historic one for the wrong reasons.

First, Containment Day was achieved on June 6th, the 64th game of the season, after a 24-square-long red snake. It was the latest Containment Day ever for the Pirates franchise. See here for a detailed analysis.

Second, the Pirates reached a franchise record of 0.500 (10 877 wins and 10 877 losses) on July 12th. It was the first time they had a 0.500 record since the 1903 season (see 2nd image, which is not up to date). As of today, we also have a record of exactly 0.500 (10 910 wins and 10 910 losses). Let's hope we go back in the positive and never have a 0.500 record again!

See you in Spring Training.

  1. Thank you for the snake. Rooting for a containment day was one of the few enjoyable things from the season.

  2. This was such a cool thing that you came up with. Hopefully containment day comes quickly in 2026!
