As bad as the Tigers choked away the AL Central title to the Guardians, at least the Tigers will still be in the playoffs. The Mets had a 6 game lead for the final wild card spot as recently as 3 weeks ago and they blew it.
The Mets didn’t deserve the final wildcard spot, but the Reds didn’t deserve it either. They literally lost their final game with the season on the line, and just got lucky that their opposition didn’t take advantage. Terrible teams playing for that last spot 😂

I am a Dodger fan but this is why baseball is the greatest of all American sports and will continue to be. Its completely unpredictable. Baseball a few more wild card spots after expansion in the next few years.
