Great time to do it because we got Major League Baseball and WNBA action on the weekend, but week five college football takes center stage on Saturday and uh week four NFL on Sunday. So, make sure that you jump on and use the promo code pick at checkout and get 15% off your purchase. But let’s get to this one between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Chicago Cubs sending out Jameson Tyion for the start in this one while the Cardinals will counter with Michael McGrevy. And you kind of have to wonder if if Jameson Tyion is going to be a contributor for the Chicago Cubs in this playoff run, whether it’s as a starter or a long relief arm. But I mean, if you look at some of the recent starts that that Tyion has had, the results would maybe suggest he should be. I mean, he’s gone at least six innings in three of his last five starts. He’s given up two runs or less in all five of those outings and one run or less in all three starts where he went at least six innings. So, and the Cubs are four- one in those five starts. So, maybe there’s something to be said for Tyion holding on to a spot. we do face a Cardinals uh lineup that in the you know the month of September really hasn’t been anything to write home about in my opinion. Um they are hitting 255 against righties. The team OPS numbers are just outside the top 10 but the bottom 10 in isolated power which tells me it’s a lot of singles, a lot of base hits and Tyion hasn’t been given up a whole lot. So I think that Tyion can have a good start here. You look at his numbers at home this season. He’s been rock solid at 3.23 erra. Like I said, I think he can keep the Cardinals in check. On the other side, you got Michael McGrevy, who has pitched fairly well this season. Now, he did give up five runs on six hits over five innings of work against the San Francisco Giants. Prior to that, he had had three three of his last five starts go six plus innings and one run or less. The only team he struggled against in those outings were the San Francisco Giants, who maybe just have Michael McGrevy’s numbers, but on the road this season, 5-0, a 3.29 ERA for McGrevy. I think he can be competitive as well. This Cubs lineup, like it or not, while the numbers, the isolated power numbers in the last two weeks against righties are great. They’re top 10, still hitting just 237, the team OPS numbers are are top 10 as well. However, the offense just really, for the most part, hasn’t been there since this team clinched a playoff spot. So, for me, I just think these are two teams that are, you know, headed in, you know, towards towards the end of the regular season. The Cubs, I think, are focused on the postseason. The Cardinals are just kind of over it after another disappointing campaign. So, give me the under here between the Cubs and the Cardinals, and that’s going to be my free pick.
