MLB Highlights | Rays vs. Blue Jays – September 28, 2025

Palasios is running. The pitch is a ball. The throw down, the tag, but safe and that’s a base hit into center field and the Rays have the first run of the ball game. Their A- lineup in there against the Yankees. Here’s a ground ball. There’s one and Guerrero down to Clement. Puts the tag on the runner and that’ll be that. A 36 double play, but the Rays get one off Gossman in the top of the first into right field. A base hit. Springer’s getting the wave and he’s on his way to the plate. Guerrero has tied it with an RBI single. Two two again and a drive to deep left field. Done. [Music] [Applause] What an impact and what a scene here at the Rogers Center. Spend all day long looking at this one. It’s a high pitch and he knows he got it. He takes a pause coming out of the box and then he celebrates into right field and it’s down for a base hit and this is going to score two. Two runs in. Camero around to third and the Rays are back within two to center field. It’s a base hit. Aronda is on his way to the plate and will score and it is 54. Gossman out front 0 and two. The runners are going. The throw down to third. Not in time. And the Rays executed double steel. Well, we told you they’re playing with house money, so they can roll the dice anytime they feel like it. [Applause] Fly ball high in the air to right center field. This should be deep enough. Low the catch. Clement will tag and come in to score. And that’s a spot where John Schneider brings Jimenez into the game taking Davis Schneider out. Springer going again. And it’s way down and away. And there’s no chance for a throw. Springer takes second now. The one two. Strike three called. driven to center field. He’s hit it well. It’s gone. Alejandro Kirk is back and the Blue Jays lead eight to four. This ball is out over the plate down around his knees and he strokes it high and deep to center. Deepest part of this ballpark that he has had a two homer game. He’s got three hits, three extra base hits and he’s driven in six. And then Addison Barger breaks his back but is able to keep it fair down the right field line. There goes Baro again and Barger launches one way back in right center and gone. And how nice is that to see Addison Barger? Barger had a double his last time up and he smoked this ball. No doubt about it. In his mind, that one’s deep into the seats and deep red center. And now you give him a special game. Straw pokes it to right center and it’s down and all the way to the wall. Clementes on his way home. Straw is absolutely racing into third with an RBI triple. Triple of the season on a ball to the gap. He stays on it down and away. And once it hits the ground, he knows he’s got a chance for three. He can fly, man. and he’s around the bag and into third with a head first. So, the Yankees, Blue Jays, and Red Sox all on the same side and George Springer has left the yard. A fly ball that just kept going and going and going for number 32 on the season. What a day for George Springer to put a wrap on a tremendous season. And a ground ball fair Guerrero to Lower and they’ve done it. [Applause] The Toronto Blue Jays are American League East Division Champions for the first time in 10 years. [Applause]

The Toronto Blue Jays locked up their first AL East pennant in ten years with a statement win, topping the Tampa Bay Rays 13-4. Alejandro Kirk stole the show with two home runs, the first of which was a grand slam.

  1. Congratulations Guys!!
The Jay's never chocked it away. They lead the division from July!! Kirky stepped up he waited for the ball to get deep in the zone!! Certain people had the jays finishing last in the division πŸ˜‚… The skipper has big decisions for the division series who will be on the roster will Tony S, Tommy N, Max S. be on the roster?

  2. Shoutout to my favorite player in baseball right now Alejandro kirk for another legendary performance coming from a red socks fan if boston doesn't face toronto then im saying toronto all the way

  3. Congrats to the Blue Jays on the division championship πŸ”₯⚾
What an incredible run this season, you truly earned it!
Alejandro Kirk’s grand slam will go down as a legendary moment πŸ™Œ
And that 2-run homer… clutch when it mattered most πŸ’£
The whole team showed heart and power.
We’re proud of you. On to the next stage! Go Jays Go. 🀞⚾️

  4. Sportsnet should provide Hazel proper goggles in the future when she has to get dowsed in beers and champagne. She does such a great job asking the proper question. Maybe Sportsnet should get her doing the hockey interviews instead of the idiots asking the same stupid questions the player get so annoyed with.

  5. What an amazing season. I think everyone in Toronto, if we're being honest, started losing faith when they hit that rough patch 2 or 3 weeks ago, with the NYY just winning game after game. What a clutch last 2 games.

Kirk came up clutch at the exact right time. Not only this game but last game, too. Now the Jays have won the division! With teams like NYY and the Red Sox right on their heels, I think they should be proud of winning the division, even though Yankees fans will say they had a bad season. This was really, really close and I'm very happy for Toronto, not just for the ball club but for the city!! Lets go boys!!!
