I’m fine trying it, but we’re back to needing wingers for Barzy.
I’m sure it’ll start off this way and end up different throughout different points of the season anyways. Let’s drop the puck already!
Makes sense
Specifically against the Canes this is a big deal. I know Staal won’t be around forever, and he’s also 40, but he has Barzy’s number. By splitting them up it makes that harder to do on the whole. You may shut down Barzal and Lee/Palms, but that leaves less defensive presence for Bo/Drouin.
All last season we saw them play best together, but splitting them up can also work. Whether Duclair/Lee can stay healthy will be a big driving point for this working. Palms will be a presence, with the beard and a healthy Barzal he could hit 30 again.
One of my concerns with him being center is that he is awful at faceoffs. His career percentage is 42.3%.
