Kantserov has a goal and assist so far today, stretching his point streak to 8 games and increasing his season stats to 5G, 10P in 10GP. He is now ranked T-8th in goals and T-8th in points in the KHL, but is further down a bit in P/GP at T-15th.
It would be huge to see Kantserov come over next year and be an immediate top six guy – he’s a competitive, dual-threat offensive player that skates very well and is versatile. Roman has been Metallurg’s 1C all year so far but, like all of Nazar/Bedard/Frondell, can also play wing. The future forward core should have plenty of options for line combos lol
No idea if a top six can truly thrive in the NHL with three smaller players in Nazar, Kantserov, and Bedard, but they certainly have the skill and skating to compete. Roman could also be dropped to the 3rd line to make our depth high end, if they can’t all hang together in the top six. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out moving forwards!

Been saying for a minute that Kantserov is actually our best bet for a winger pair with Bedard if he hits. He’d be great playing a possession entry style with Bedard, and can keep up with his hockey IQ. We honestly really need Kantserov to hit for this rebuild.
