Questions like this require much more specificity than whichever joke of a journalist asked it.
If you ask someone if they got the money they were owed, and hypothetically they were owed $100 and only got $80 – they can answer no and be truthful. They did not get the money they were owed.
Now if she had asked him if he had received *any* monetary compensation from Aspiration or its subsidiaries, then if he says no we know he’s straight up lying.
We know Kawhi didn’t get his full promised amount, that’s why he’s listed as one of the creditors, so as far as legal/technical responses go, him saying no on camera is the truth.
