The only thing bigger than his numbers this year is his froggy heart
The NL Jose Ramirez
Is it really fair to call him underrated? This is his breakout year and the first time he has been above average offensively. If he continues this kind of production without being recognized for it then we can start calling him underrated imo.
Someone like Jose Ramirez has been one of the best players in baseball for years now and is largely overlooked because he plays in a small market. Hopefully Perdomo can remain this productive and get into the spotlight.
He had a crazy good season. Don’t think it’s reasonable to say he is MLBs most underrated player after one outlier season though.
Other than the last 3 months of the season, dude was a typical middling-at-the-plate, sweet-glove SS with some pop and speed … at both the MLB and minor league levels. Maybe he’s figured it all out and will sustain his production going forward. He would definitely be underrated if he continues to mash in 2026.
Based on his numbers and the ridiculous comments being made that Raleigh should be AL MVP over Judge, maybe we should just dismiss all of Shohei’s stats and give NL MVP to Perdomo. 🤣🤣
Better than Ketel??
He’s coming for Jose Ramirez’s crown!
This was his break out year and a blast to watch. I would say if he doesn’t win any awards then maybe he’d be underrated . He was an All Star in 2023 and was hurt last year so I think it was just his time.
I cut him from my fantasy team on June 23.
I have no excuse.
(won the league though)
No, no, no. You see the most underrated player is Jose Ramirez.
ESPN says so because they never talk about him until he’s playing the Yankees or Red Sox.
We all know he’s a superstar and probably the 3rd best player in the AL any given year.
Certainly fair to give the obligatory caveat that it’s just one year, but it was a hell of a year. His final line looks a lot like Bobby Witt’s; a little less power, a little more on-base, but OPS and WAR nearly identical.
Agree he is and everybody knows Jose Ramirez
For underrated I’ll go with Nico Hoerner. Just put up a 6.1 WAR season and has put up 4.2, 5.5, and 3.7 the past 3 years. He’s consistently playing at an all-star level and has never been an all-star.
He better be the All-MLB shortstop or we riot
Buxton
N2 for MVP.
Definitely not lol
I feel similarly about maikel garcia. I know he squeaked into the all star game as a replacement, but he had a terrific season and I just don’t see him mentioned much anywhere.
Definitely, going to get some MVP votes. Not enough, but some.
These are like prime jeter numbers
He’s the best!!!
Thats a hell of a season
The most underrated player in MLB is Jose Ramirez and it’s not particularly close
I remember Tommy edman back n 2021 posted a top10 war season…..and the following year he was on 0 top50 lists. Maybe a back end top100. And everyone in that STL Fandom knew he was easily the most underrated player in baseball…
Perdomo is that, but so much better. One of the best 20/20 non mvp seasons ever
