Going to be a fun little pregame show. Um, and we’re going to watch the Vikings hopefully get a big time victory. But, uh, some big injury news on the Pittsburgh Steelers front. They’re going to be without um one of their starting quarterbacks, Joey Porter Jr. And they’re also going to be without Jaylen Warren. So really, there is no excuse for the Vikings today. Also, uh Easy Ezo. Um also inactive for the Steelers, but there is no excuse for the Vikings not to go get a win today. You know, they’re without Joey Porter Jr. They just have Jaylen Ramsay and uh and Darius Slay lined up against Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. I like the matchup there. And then, you know, we know with the Brian Flores defense, if you can’t run the ball, it is going to be a long day. And Jaylen Warren is the only running back in that room with any sort of juice. Really, Jaylen Warren outside of DK Metaf is the only player offensively with any sort of juice on the Steelers offense. So, him not being there is absolutely massive. Then on the Vikings side of things, no big shockers here. Um, Andrew Van Genko is going to miss this game with a neck injury. I would be lying to you guys if I said I wasn’t a little concerned about this Van Genko injury. Um, obviously dealing with the neck is very concerning. And then also, um, he’s a very physical player. Like I I understand like we think of Van Genko of like the Swiss Army knife, like extremely versatile, and he is, but he’s also a very physical football player. Like he blows up blockers at a high level. He is great in the screen game, and I could just see that neck injury, you know, being a little more concerning than, you know, it led on to be at first. But also, no Donovan Jackson, so it will be Blake Brandell filling in there. But good news that uh um that Joey Porter Jr. and Jaylen Warren aren’t there. But today is the day. And I think the Vikings defense yet again will be the story of this game. Um they got a great advantage today going against a Steelers offense that doesn’t really have a lot of juice. They can’t run the football. They have a statue west quarterback. That’s just not a recipe for success against this Flores system. Um Rogers has been good against the Blitz this year. He’s just been frankly bad the entire season. And I think the Vikings I think Flores in this group are going to you try to prove Kevin Oonnell right in today’s matchup and be like, “Yeah, you made the right decision not going Aaron Rogers. We’re going to make this guy look like a 41-year-old man. And uh so I got the Vikings defense being the story line of the today’s game. I got them uh on the Steelers offense. There’s 10 points and the Vikings will get a 27-10 victory. Retired saying 38-7. Vikings fan going 31 to 14. Minnesota Vikings fan going 21 to 42 in favor of the Vikings. John Ferg going 100 to zero Chicago. Yeah, always good to see Rogers get cooked by the Vikings. How many yards for Addison? That’s a good question. I am very very curious how Addison’s going to play today or just how involved mainly he’s going to be in the offense because Kevin O’Connell did say earlier this week him and Wentz they look good. Addison is bringing some fresh legs. So I could see them really trying to utilize Addison early on in this game. And plus the Steelers, they run single high safety. I think it was 68% of defensive snaps so far this season. Good freaking luck running single high against the Vikings because if you do that that means Jordan Addison’s going to get one-on- ones because that safety over the top will always lean Jefferson’s away. And if you leave Addison one-on-one with now it’s going to be Darius Slay with Joey Porter out like that’s just not a recipe for success for the Steelers defense. So I’ll be curious if they switch that up. But again, if you go too high, all right, we’ll run the ball with Jordan Mason. Like that’s why this Vikings offense, if they are able to run the football, and they are able to protect up front, get good quarterback play, there’s really no answer to the problem that the Vikings offense uh proposes other teams defenses. So, I’m excited for this game. I think the Vikings will be very successful today. Um I’m honestly shocked the spread’s only two and a half. Like, I understand it’s Carson Wentz, but I just think the Vikings are way better team top to bottom. I thought the spread should have been four and a half, five and a half, kind of in that Vegas zone. Um, but hey, take the Vikings today. Do you think I should start Addison on my fantasy team? Um risky play. I feel like it’s going to be touchdown reliant today for Addison. Like I can’t really see him having like an eight catch 110 yard performance. I’m assuming it’ll be around 40 to 50 yards. Maybe he gets in the end zone, but I can’t also see him being a high catch guy today. It’s probably three to four catches, 40, 50 yards. Maybe he gets an endzone uh end zone, maybe he doesn’t. But Addison’s a tricky play in fantasy, but we’ll see. We’ll see. Yeah, start the Vikings defense today in fantasy. Um the best play this weekend. Can’t see the Steelers having any success offensively whatsoever. So, uh Vikings defense, another good play today. But Roger Ball coming in saying, “I’m feeling the luck of the Irish. But, I think, uh, I think Jefferson’s going to have a hell of a day. Hell of a day. Just can’t turn the ball over. I think that’s number one with Wentz. And if he does that, like he’ll probably be all right. but he looked pretty good against the Bengals this past week. Found the end zone two times um both tight ends got in there. But I think uh I think for Wes to really be successful today, it just comes down to not turning the ball over. Um because if he plays a clean game like this Vikings offense should be successful. That’s what is so nice about having Kevin Okonnell on the support system is you you could just sit back at the end of the day and just trust that you’ll get good quarterback play because of the guys around them. And it starts with KOC, then it goes to the weapons. And with especially Jordan Addison back, like it’s just going to be tough for these teams to, you know, really take away what the Vikings want to do. Cuz if you take away the run, okay, that means you’re probably running a lot of one high safety, probably got a lot of guys in the box. And then if you do that, that means the guys on the outside are going to eat. Then if you’re sitting too high the whole game, we’ll just turn around and hand it off to Jordan Mason. So, I still think yet again today Jordan Mason’s going to be the main guy offensively. I think Jefferson will do his thing, but clearly this Vikings team, they wanted to get more downhill this year and Jordan Mason is allowing them to do that. So, I think he’s going to have a hell of a day. Ryan Manley, what’s going on, man? How you doing? But you guys let me know who’s the biggest X factor today. I think he’s going to have a chance to get home. Um, but like Jonathan Allen, Dallas Turner, Jonathan Gennard, Jaylen Redmond, Levi Drake Rodriguez, those guys have been fantastic. So yeah, I just think the Vikings are going to be the more physical team today and that starts up front. Um I think the offensive line, you are so close to getting fully healthy. Um right as Ryan Kelly and Daryus all come back, you know, Donovan Jackson leaves. So we won’t see the full five offensive line for the Vikings until week seven of the season. Like Drew Aller, you going to take that guy in the first round? I think Drew Aller is one of those guys where if he goes to like I could see the Rams taking him late round one, he’ll work out there. But if he goes to like the Saints or something like a poorly ran organization, I could see Drew Aller being one of the biggest bust of all time. Or I could even see Garrett Nusmire. Because we watched the game. He was not good. Bad interceptions. Turn the ball over. Had no feel in the pocket. Again, the offensive line was terrible, too. Um, it’s not all on Wentz. Like, the offense as a whole wasn’t good enough. Um, you could not run the football. 20 carries for 70 yards, three and a half yards per clip. Just wasn’t good enough. Just was not good enough. Let’s do it. [Music] What’s going on everybody? Welcome in the Vikings now by chat sports. My name is Patrick Seatman here giving you guys my instant reaction to the 24-21 loss where the Vikings lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin Ireland. This was a hideous game. Started off incredibly slow. Tried to come back in the fourth quarter. You had a chance late but at the end of the day it was not good enough. Clearly a lot of problems with this team. Um, injuries probably the biggest factor why you lost this game. You lost Brian O’Neal early. You lost Ryan Kelly. You were already without Donovan Jackson. You were without Blake Cashman. Andrew Van Ginkle, Jonathan Gennard was in and out of the lineup and it’s just a lot to handle going against a good Steelers defensive line. Um, but overall wasn’t good enough and there’s a lot of reasons besides that, not just the injuries. And uh, you follow the two and two in a game where you needed this. like you look at the schedule after the buy, it is a gauntlet and you needed to get this one today. This is a heartbreaking loss. All right, let’s start off talking about the quarterback. Um, very Carson WCY game. 30 of 46, 350 yards, two touchdowns. That looks great. You’ll take that. But the turnovers were an issue. He took six sacks today. I felt like, you know, obviously some of those weren’t all on him. Um, the offensive line was just getting their ass handed to him up front. Um, actually caught seven sacks today for Carson Wentz, but he was inaccurate with the football a couple times. Um, clearly turnovers were an issue today. Like the two picks he threw were bad. Um he also lost a fumble today which he got lucky that it didn’t land in the Steelers lap but he he just wasn’t good enough and you know he is a backup quarterback and I think today’s performance put the whole conversation of you know who’s the quarterback after the buy once JJ is healthy it is no uh no doubt JJ McCarthy you got to let that kid develop we know what Wentz is this is who he is like last week against the Bengals when you’re on script when everything’s going well yes he can play some good quarterback play but today when it’s going wrong, backs against the wall a little bit. Like you even just saw like the ball was coming out of his hand. It looked wobbly. He was throwing behind receivers a whole lot. He just wasn’t that good today. But also the offense as a whole wasn’t good. He couldn’t really establish any sort of run game. Jordan Mason, like he looked good in his carries, but you got really no push up front. Um like as a as a as a team, he ran the ball 20 times for 70 yards, three and a half yards per carry. That’s not good enough, especially when you have a backup quarterback. when you have backup offensive lineman in, if you can’t run the football, you’re just going to be behind the eightball the entire game. And also the offensive line, like it’s tough to even blame them because like Michael Jurgens had to step in. You know, Justin School, I think, is the worst offensive lineman in the league. He had to step in. And that also just had a ripple effect on the entire offense because in the offense the whole game like I’m sure once you go back and watch the film TJ Watt you have to chip him every single play like the Vikings over and over again had a tight end or a slot receiver in tight and he would just chip him and TJ Watt like that’s still him making an impact because you got to give him four eyeballs every single play when you lose Brian O’Neal but if you would have had Brian O’Neal you could have left him on that island a little more. So, that injury was massive. And then obviously Ryan Kelly going down. Um, also with both those injuries, I fully expect them not to play next week. Um, Brian O’Neal, he was down on this uh field for a long time. Everybody was taking a knee. And Ryan Kelly, another concussion. I I honestly wonder if he might retire. Like, he’s had five concussions over the last three seasons. He’s had two in the last three weeks. This has been a problem for him. I hope all is good. like hoping for the best, but I would assume he is for sure not out there next week, and he probably I mean, there’s a chance he’s not even there week seven. But the offensive line wasn’t good. Carson Wentz wasn’t good. I mean, this guy showed up. Uh Jefferson was fantastic. He slipped on that one play at the end of the first half, which was obviously a big- time blow, but I actually like the way they were using him a little more, getting him going over the middle of the field. Those like short inbreaking routes, he was cooking early. And that’s how you kind of manufacture a run game early in this game. hit your back foot, get it out the number 18 quick, but it just wasn’t enough. But then you also went away from that in the third quarter. Like this guy, I’m pretty sure had eight catches in the first half for 99 yards. Finishes the game with 10 for 126. Like where was he in the third quarter? Um Jordan Addison had a good game. Um obviously a big chunk of this came off that massive play at the end. Um but I mean he was solid. You just got to get him more involved. He had that one drop which was uh you know bad, but also just get this guy involved more. Um, you know, he’s a hell of a player. It’s nice to have him back, but again, this offense just as a whole needs to be better. When you have a backup quarterback, three backup offensive linemen, still no Aaron Jones, like it’s just tough. Um, do want to give a massive shout out to this guy, though. Uh, Jaylen Redmond played his tail off. Had two big-time sacks. He played some great football out there today. So, massive shout out to Jaylen Redmond. He is one of the best stories, you know, within this Vikings organization. He was a UFFL player uh just about a year and a half ago and now he’s out here making massive plays for this team. Uh didn’t really see a whole lot from Isaiah Rogers today. Did have that one block kick which was massive in the first half, but also missed a couple of tackles. Um definitely was not his 99.9 overall PFF grade day, but it was still just uh just overall not good enough top to bottom. And you know, I hate using the injury card as an excuse, but you think about your top 10 players on this team. Van Ginkle, Cashman, O’Neal, Donovan Jackson, Ryan Kelly, like those are five starters who are also not just like like a Jaylen Naylor starter. Those are huge huge pieces of this system and they’re all done. Um hopefully we get a lot of those guys back and you know, you’re just in the mud right now. You’re two and two. you should be 4 and 0. Um, should have freaking won today. The Steelers are still not a good team. Um, I don’t know. We’ll dive into the more here in just a second, but you guys let me know why did the Vikings lose down below. You storm down the field offensively. Got to settle for three. And then also Aaron Rogers, this guy’s not that good anymore. But also, Rogers, he’s almost like a he’s almost like he feels like an all-time great MMA fighter who’s got like a broken arm or something where like he’s clearly hobbled, but like still when you allow him to have a clean pocket, no pressure, he can still spin the damn football. Um, and he was deciphering what Flores was doing at a pretty high level today. You know, if you take out that one 80 yard touchdown, the DK Metaf, he was 17 to 21 for 120 yards and no touchdowns. Like, he had that one massive play. Shout out to Rogers. He did just enough, but it’s not like he, you know, impressed me. What was concerning though late in the game, the Vikings could not stop the run. Uh Kenneth Gainwell, 19 carries, 99 yards, almost had 100 on the day, two rushing touchdowns. I don’t want to give the defense an out, but when you’re on the football field that much that’s going to happen like this game felt so much like the Falcons game where it’s like the Vikings were just kind of hanging around. Now obviously in this game you had that breakthrough late in the fourth quarter but the defense was just kind of keeping you in the game and then they started giving up a lot in the ground but they still like the defense still got to stop late. The defense handed the offense the football with 50 seconds left, no timeouts, and a chance to go tie the game. And you couldn’t do it. And I I understand defense didn’t play as well as I thought they would, but this was not on the defense. This was on the offense today. You turn the ball over three times or two times, two bad picks, like you’re not going to win a lot of football games like that. And you know, DK DK Metaf is a loser. Um, this guy, he he he loves talking noise when he’s up 21 to6. He loves talking noise when they’re up two scores. This guy keeps his mouth shut when it’s a tie game. Um, he baited Dallas Turner into a horrible penalty where he’s just grabbing his face mask. I mean, they the referees literally let DK Metaf and Jaylen Ramsey act like fools the entire game. After each play, they’re doing extra stuff. Just not a fan of these guys. Um, and the Vikings interior offensive line, they’re terrible. Um, Michael Jurgens is not a pro. Uh, Blake Brandell is awful. Justin School is definitely not a pro. But Keo Benton killed him from the interior. Three quarterbacks hits, one and a half sacks. And you know, TJ Watt, even though the stat sheet, he did not fill it up today. This dude’s impact was unbelievable cuz once Brian O’Neal went out, the Vikings had to chip or put a tight end on his side every single damn play. Wasn’t good enough. Offense got behind the sticks. Also the pre- snap offensive penalties th those have to get shured up like KC offensive genius never really see this with McVey you never really see this with Lefor Shanahan they never have these pre-nap offensive penalties understand when you have three backup offensive linemen in it’s going to be tough but uh so top to bottom team wasn’t good today um you laid an egg and now you’re behind the eightball because now also you got the Cleveland Browns next week you’re staying across the pond hopefully that gives you an advantage but the Cleveland Browns got an unreal defensive line. They know how to get after the quarterback. The rest of their team stinks. But if they are able to get home and Miles Garrett, whatever you think of TJ Watt, Miles Garrett is that times two. He is one of the best players in the NFL. He is the best defensive player in the league. He is one of the best defensive players of all time and he has been on a tear this year. So, if you’re not ready to go O’Neal, which you probably won’t be, you got to find a way to navigate, you know, Miles Garrett a little better than you did TJ Watt because, you know, listen, you just put a guy over there on TJ Watt’s side. Yeah, he didn’t wreck the game, but still having to do that over and over and over again, the offense just couldn’t get anything going. So, it’s a disappointing loss. Um, no doubt about it. Uh, don’t think the season’s over. It’s going to be a long year. Um, if you guys remember, the Eagles were two and two last year when the Vikings made the NFC Championship. uh game in 2017. They started off two and two, so they can go on a run. Once again, I kept telling you guys don't get too excited because the Vikes defeated the Bengals.. I have been a Vikings fan every since they had Mr Bud Grant 🏈.. Yes, we are supposed to be a better team this year, although we had a great year last year.. Now try and figure that one out, Lol 😄.. Every time the Vikings wins a game or 2, we seemed to falter along the way.. Forget about the Quarterback issue, because now WE ARE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE at 2-2.. Now we got to worry about the rest of the Norris Division who is getting better & better each week.. Let alone the rest of the NFC Division.. Now here a question ?
