Perfectly balanced
It’s honestly impressive that after over 25+ years of nonstop slop that it’s still that good
That’s how you take a once great franchise and run it straight into the ground.
Impressive work, Bob.
I’m almost 39. I’ve only witnessed 7 winning seasons my whole life. I’ve decided that once Skenes is gone, so am I. I can’t bring myself to follow another team, so I’m just gonna cut out baseball entirely.
Maybe I’ll revisit if either Nutting sells or MLB gets a salary cap (fat chance), but the team brings very little joy to my life. It’s sad, because I used to love baseball, but now I only check in every so often. I was gonna give it up last year, but Skenes pulled me back in.
I’ve lucked out with the Steelers and Pens, but the Pirates were always closest to my heart. I don’t expect anyone here to care, just putting my two cents out there, lol.

Depends on how you define the beginning of their franchise. B-Ref counts it as starting in 1882. But the Pirates have [counted the start of their franchise as being in 1887](https://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/avqazkile9rnsh6qf7et/Pittsburgh-Pirates-Logo/1987/Anniversary-Logo) (when they joined the National League). If you go by that definition, we’re still 60 games above .500.
Time to go 81-81 next year
