Haven’t rewatched the game, but did you notice it seemed like the line was picking up blitzes correctly once Ruiz went out?🤔
I think he can be good enough to allow us to move on from Ruiz!
Edit: at the very least, he seems to be good enough as an interior depth linemen. I’m really happy with that even

I think the offense is going to start coming together, not because of who we play but because we’re getting better as a unit.
If we found a gem in the rough, we might not have to draft OL in first round again. That would be a big boost for the rebuild
If Simpkins is a good long term solution at RG, that alone will make this season successful. Cherry on the top would be Penning settling in as a serviceable LG.
I mean one would imagine the protection scheme would shift to always get him help when he should only be replacing a former #1 pick or Pro Bowler who you’d think would be able to hold their own one on one.
It’s amazing what Will has been able to do with his t-rex arms. Truly inspirational.
This week will be a good test for Simpkins and the line as the Giants have a stout front 4.
