‘WE EXPECTED MORE BY NOW!’ 😳 – Sal Pal on the Jets falling to 0-4 after MNF 😬 | Get Up

from last night in Miami. A battle of beatens. They were both 0 and3 coming in. Tua and the Dolphins taking on the Jets. So the Jets down three nothing. They march right down the field running the ball with power. They look great. And then they fumble inside the one. I was smiling for you, Green. It looked optimistic. This the Jets that we imagine a tough running game. We’re going to play good defense, not make mistakes. And they turned it over and it all fell apart. Back the other way. This is on a fourth down play. How about this catch from Darren Waller? Darren Waller. Welcome back to the NFL. It has been a while. 2023 was his last touchdown. Getting in the end zone on fourth down at that, Greeny. Now, the earlier fumble you saw from the Jets was the first turnover the Dolphins had caused all season. Here comes the second disaster. Oh yeah. This is a problem that you face with a quarterback that can do exceptional things with his legs is there’s never a play they want to give up on, but sometimes you’re going to give it up. Jets kick a field goal. They’re down 10-3 at the half. The Jets then fumble the opening kickoff of the second half. And then this horrendous play happens on the third and eight. Don’t worry, we’re not going to show you the replay of Tyreek Hill’s leg. It’s not something that you want to see this morning. One of those devastating injuries. Graciano will have more on this as we go this morning, but a devastating moment obviously for Hill. The injury is a serious one. Anyway, as the play continues to a two easy Darren Waller second touchdown, Dolphins up 17-3. And then just when it looks completely over, ensuing Jets drive going for it on a fourth and one. Justin Fields doing something that not too many other human beings could do. Yeah, I think this is what he had in mind when we had the fumble earlier. He has this level of athleticism and his capability to get the fans a little excited. He had over 340 total yards of offense. Dolphins respond with a touchdown. Jets down 24-10. Garrett Wilson touchdown catch. But hold on. Is this offensive pass interference? Absolutely. Two DB Greeny call that more often. You going to push off? Horrible call. 24-13. The Jets now down two touchdowns and it’s Fields for reasons known only to them. The Dolphins single cover Garrett Wilson. That’s a bad man. The other catch that didn’t count. This one was even more impressive. Look at the feet right there. That is unbelievable. Garrett Wilson. Oh, he didn’t need to push you off. Jets fight. Jets go for the two. They get it. So, it’s 2721, they need an onside kick, and those almost never work. And here’s one example of that. And so, the Dolphins on a night where they lose Tyreek Hill to a terrible looking injury, keep their season alive. They win it by a score of 27 to 21. Let’s start with the most important story line here, Dan. What do we know about the injury to Tyreek? Yeah, as Adam Sher reported this morning, multiple torn ligaments, including the ACL. In addition, he dislocated his kneecap. So when that they they rush him to the hospital because that can also mean artery damage, nerve dam. They have to assess what it is. So he’ll have surgery today to repair those ligaments. His season’s obviously over. His future in Miami in doubt because obviously the contract situation he may have not been there next year anyway. Devastating injury obviously. What else is there to say? Right. Yeah. I mean I think it was exciting for this team to get their win, but uh it’s tough considering the rest of the season without what seemed to be their best player. So yeah, it’s a it’s a sad situation down there, but they should celebrate this win. It was a game last night where we went into it saying one of these teams season’s going to be over. That that team proves not to be the Dolphins. It does prove to be the Jets. And S when you consider how badly they played, you want to play the sound bite here. We’ll play Bree Hall afterwards, I think, spoke for everyone when he described the Jets performance by saying this. It’s a tale of, you know, three out of our four losses. You know, teams will shoot ourselves in the foot, then we come back and shoot ourselves in the head. So, um, you can’t win. So, there you have it. So, what do we say? We really didn’t expect in week four that Aaron Glenn’s team would be this undisiplined. We thought that by this time that they would be not making the kinds of easy mistakes that are avoidable. Even for a young team that’s got a new quarterback and a new head coach. You would think that they would be a much more disciplined football team. They look ridiculously unprepared. They look terribly coached. There’s no other way to say it. Aaron Glenn came in this year talking about cleaning up all of the obvious mistakes, the penalties, the turnovers, all the things that cost them last year. The Jets weren’t going to be a Super Bowl team this year, but the coach was talking about laying a foundation that’s going to be built on discipline and toughness. The Jets have shown neither of either of those two things. No discipline, no toughness. They look terrible. And if the coach is looking for a definition of same old Jets, which he seems not to understand. Someone should show him a tape of the way his team has played through four weeks. That’s the definition of same old jet. It’s just I mean amazing how it turned. like their opening drive, they did everything they wanted to do. They were running the ball at will and they get close to the goal line, they fumble. Now the Dolphins go the length of the field for a touchdown. Now you’re down 10 nothing. The whole entire thing falls apart because of one play. I I I but yeah, the penalties, the pre- snap stuff. It just if he scores there, which is entirely possible, the the game could feel totally different. Now the Jets are in control of the game. They can keep running. I I don’t know. It’s just amazing how it it and Graz I think to your point we always talk about the coaching and one thing Aaron Glenn has talked about is having referees at practice talking about minimizing the penalties once you go out there on the field they fumbled two kickoff returns so far in this season and there’s pre- snap penalties to a certain extent Nick you know this for the players you got to step up now when the lights come on and show up and perform the way you’ve done in practice I guarantee you those coaches are going there Monday like guys we did this play on Wednesday Thursday and Friday and we get to Monday night and now we’re making the same mistakes. That’s the thing about football is it’s a couple plays here or there will make the whole game feel a whole lot different. So like Greeny, I think it’s fair a little bit of your fan is showing when you talk about the toughness. I think that they’re undisiplined, but it’s nothing about the way that they perform in that game that maybe feel like this team wasn’t tough. Like they didn’t fold it up. They didn’t give up. They just make a lot of mistakes and are kind of sloppy. And you clean up like if they hold on to the ball, I think this game turns out totally differently, which fumbling is like it kind of feels a little bit random. So I’m not trying to give you any hope. It’s not just the fumbles though. It’s the late hit on two other hit him right in the head as he’s sliding when you’re body slam where John Simpson is body slamming a man like two seconds after the whistle. That’s also fake tough, right? There’s tough and then there’s phony. But they had resilience is what he’s trying to say in the fourth quarter. I’m trying. I’m trying. Very impressed. He’s a fan. He’s a fan. Whatever that look, this is a national show. The Jets are not worth any more time than we have already given them. Let’s move on to the other disaster that was last night. That’s a news flash right there. The Bengals not so good. Bo Nicks in the Broncos hosting Cincinnati last night. Bo Nicks, he’s good. This on a third and five takes it himself. Oh yeah, Bo Knicks is a great athlete. Sometimes you forget it, but he’s not going to let the Bengals forget it on that play. Meanwhile, the Bengals frustration is going to start to show. This is Jar Chase with 10 yards on a third and 20. The Bengals had 159 total yards and nine first downs. And you saw a lot of moments like this on the sideline. We’re going to talk a lot about it. Meanwhile, look at Marvin Mims the other way getting it done to end the round. You see that for every NFL team out there. You want to get a wide receiver the ball, just hand it off once in a while. How about this play? Look at Courtland Sutton. Uh this is So the difference in this offense from week to week really depends on Bo Nick’s accuracy. When he’s accurate, this offense is good and he put it right on his chest. Bengals did not do well in first and long last night. This is first and 20 and it’s a team meeting at the quarterback. Bengals offense just had nothing going. And look again, Jamar Chase. We got to talk about what this is all going to add up to. Five minutes left. The ball game is essentially over anyway, but here comes R.J. Harvey. 28-3 the final score. You see the looks on those faces. Not what they were expecting. After the game, Jamar Chase active on social media. The first post says, “Man, y’all better leave me alone.” And they had uh he had like a couple of crying laughing emojis. And then another one he said, “I play with passion.” #h who day. So I I I turn to someone who might be able to decipher social. What what’s he trying to say there? I mean that he plays with passion and he’s still part of the team like the who like he’s still committed. I think you see this is social media in general is like you get access to a lot of voices that you probably don’t need access to. So he’s probably responding to people who he should not be caring what they’re what they have to say. Like there’s nothing specific. Yeah. There’s nothing specific that he was reacting to. So, like I don’t make too much of it, but it feels pretty unstable there right now. Here’s the thing. I I I use this word advisedly. Let me be as clear as I can that nothing that happens in a football game almost with with almost no exception is an actual catastrophic event. But within football perspective, when you lose your franchise quarterback, one of those guys that literally everything is built around for the season in week two, that’s a catastrophic traffic event. And that’s what you were seeing in Cincinnati now. And the fallout of it is going to be fascinating. Their season is quite obviously over as far as anything they were hoping to accomplish realistically. Now the question is how do they keep it together? Well, the bottom line is it’s two things, right? It’s about the Bengals. It’s also about the division within a division. What’s the fallout, right? For the Bengals, you know, you when you lose your starting quarterback, things shouldn’t completely fall apart. You should have a plan, right? You’re in week two now of this and you shouldn’t get waxed on Monday Night Football. I mean, the Broncos are good. We understand that that their defense gets after the quarterback. We got all that. We get it. But you shouldn’t be completely falling apart. But the other thing is the beneficiaries here, Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes. Baltimore Ravens. It gives the Steelers the drivers seat in the division. It gives the Baltimore Ravens hope that they can figure out a way to get back into the playoff picture. To me, I look at all of it and as we’re watching Jamar Chase and T. Higgins, like that’s just what we live in right now. The quarterback’s not out there. were going to show the wide receivers who were doing nothing in the game as much as possible. And the hard part about this, when I played in the league, people would always ask you all the time, who’s the best wide receiver you had to cover. It didn’t matter because it depended upon who the quarterback was, right? I know they love Jake Browning, but the truth of the matter is this team all falls on the back of Joe Burrow and he’s not going to be there. I think they felt like they could plug in Jake Browning like they did when Burrow got hurt two years ago and and have a representative offense and and you know, he’s been with their program. when we talked about, oh, would they trade for Kirk Cousins or somebody else? I was like, no. Browning is the guy that they believe in. There were I believe there were four players that had more yards from scrimmage this weekend than the Bengals had last night like that. I’m not kidding. Like Ashton Genty and and uh I didn’t Robinson. But I mean, they have to reassess whatever their plan was. Whether that means looking outside for for a quarterback option, whether it means significant scheme changes that are designed to just not try and take Joe Burrow’s offense and and install Jake Browning to run it. I I think there’s obviously whatever the plan was, they’re two and two. They’re not mathematically dead, but they have to change. I didn’t expect to have to try to be the ray of sunshine for both of these teams this morning, but to be fair to be fair, the Vikings and the Broncos are the teams that Jake Browning went up against. And those are two of the like the Vikings defense is almost impossible for real starting quarterbacks to decipher. And the Broncos play tight man coverage like Riley Moss was insane last night in his coverage on T. Higgins. They and also like Patrick Certain. This is a real tough situation for a guy like Jake Browning where I think Burrow in that situation, his athleticism, his ability to extend plays against man cover, make something happen. Yeah. Pocket another half second. But the problem is they got Detroit this week and Green Bay next week like it’s not going to get a lot easier. Yeah. I mean, I think that those teams are not worse, but those defenses are different. Like Detroit plays a lot of tight man coverage and aggressive also, but they don’t have the level of corners that you would see in um Denver. I hear what you’re saying. The two games that they’ve played without Burough, they lost by a combined total of 76-13. Yeah, it’s not great. So, I’m going to go with your son. [Music]

  1. Greeny is the king of "the sky is falling". As a fellow Jets fan this almost meets my expectation for the start of the season. I thought we'd have a shot to win the Pittsburg game and lose the next 3 so 1-3. What was everyone else's expectation?

  2. You think this was bad for prime time? I would just like to remind everyone that the Burrowless Bengals will be playing the lackluster Ravens on Thanksgiving night

  3. 0-4 is a tough spot to be in. You’ve lost your playoff hopes before October, but it’s too early to want to tank. You want to see your team do better, but you also know if you pull off the occasional win, that’s just moving you down the 2026 draft board and hurting your chances of possibly getting your next franchise QB

  4. This clown was focusing on Rodgers downfall instead of addressing his crap team. Rodgers is 3-1 with the Steelers jets might not win a game this season fr
