[Reaves] “I feel like I could be an All-Star. But all of that is, in my opinion, relative. Thank God I play with Luka and LeBron. I don’t want to be in a situation where I’m just going out chucking, getting numbers. If that’s the map for me to be an All-Star, I don’t care about that.”

  1. Love the unselfishness.

I know it’s a pipe dream but I would love one day they retire 15 in the rafters.

  2. I’m glad to hear it. This team has 5 guys who need to ‘eat’ for different reasons. Rui, Ayton and Reaves are all playing for their next contract, Bron for his legacy and Luka for MVP. Some, if not all, of these guys will have to sacrifice numbers for team success. JJ has his work cut out for him.

  3. Let’s see how the season plays out. There have been guys that wanted to win and be in a good team situation…but it didn’t work out that way.

They’ll see how the team performs…and hopefully AR and the Lakers have numbers that are close enough that they can work it out. Just hope Lakers are going to be sensible and fair with the contract they offer him…and for AR to look at the whole team financial situation and how he fits in the team picture.

The way the NBA is set up now…players and teams have to be more of a partnership than employer and employee

  4. I didn’t even realise he was injured in game 3, from what i read afterwards i thought he played injured the whole playoffs. I wish he’ll get to stay in the Lakers, because he is great, but i still think that 40m some people have said is a bit much. But when i try to think what he would be worth, which i suck at since i think i miss things, it all comes down to Bron, and how/how long is he still playing for Lakers, and who will be his replacement when he can’t fulfill the role he has now. If this season would (not that i hope it) be LeBron’s last, and there will not be some excellent star player in line to try and fill some of his shoes, I would think AR could be worth quite much, if he continues to play really well. But what do i know.

  5. I truly believe it’s this level of unselfishness that separates teams. He’ll do whatever it takes to win.

  6. He has performed better than anyone ever expected and keeps improving every year. The pressure to play well wearing a Laker uniform is very real. We’ve seen players come in and quickly find out. When Luka arrived, the fit was questioned, and AR continued to play well. There’s a reason why he’s a fan favorite and also the coache’s and F.O. We love players who have been with the team from the start of their careers. We love our homegrown talent! I don’t know if AR has been the most recent longest tenured Laker who started their career with the team, but it sure feels like it! I can’t think of anyone else. Maybe Julius Randle? We are yearning for that again!

  7. On paper he should be traded. But basketball isn’t played on paper and so Austin needs to be a laker for life.
