Xhekaj doing his absolute best to earn another year in the AHL.
I understand frustration is boiling over, no one is thinking in these moments, but the nhl really needs to do something about the 2 handed takedowns. Guys wrapping someone up and either jumping forward on top, or like here seeing a guy being slammed backwards. Someone is going to get really hurt. I also understand the irony when we’re discussing punches to the head, but those style takedowns are the problem here, not fighting imo.

I would say Montreal triggered the brawl by being the 3rd man in on what was an innocuous check.
1 fight + a scrum does not constitute a line brawl

I hope this incident doesn’t jeopardize the good relationship that Ottawa and Montreal have with each other.
