ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt: Why the Buffalo Bills are the NFL’s Best Team | The Rich Eisen Show

Few minutes left here with Scott Vampel. Man on the street joining us from the streets of New York. Uh already in his suit getting ready to host uh two uh studio shows pretty much um in one for tonight’s week four finale here on the Rich Eisen Show. The best football team in the NFL through four weeks. Doesn’t have to be a team that is 4-0. Could be a team that’s three and one. What do you think, Scott? Best team? Buffalo Bills. Why? because I think Josh Allen is reaching the point in the matrix where it’s all just slowing down. Um maybe I’m guilty of just wanting something new and and Philly is a boring answer. Uh all they do is win games. All they do is win games, Philly. I mean, I’m sure in Philadelphia you like, “Hey, you know, that’s a really bad answer, Vampel. Don’t be your ass.” And they’d be right. Yeah. All you guys do is win. Uh, but I just I really I just feel like Buffalo I said this about Rory at the Masters. I think every man has a time. I just feel like this is Josh’s time. Um, that said, they were in a four-point game with the Saints on Sunday. Uh, you know, I guess you just you can’t beat everybody you play by by 30. Um, and Miami hung with them as well, but Philly’s done nothing to not be the right answer, but I’m saying Buffalo because of that guy right there that you’re showing 17. Yeah. I’m I’m also looking at um the Monday night schedule coming up. Um are you going to Jacksonville? Will you be there? We Yep, we will be. Okay. That’s going to be a heck of a night, man. I mean, the Chiefs back to 200, back to 500 at 2 and two. Jacksonville at 3 and one. Kind of feeling it. You know, Liam Cohen’s talking with his chest a little bit. Um that is going to be lit. And then what do you Sorry. I wouldn’t I wouldn’t want to fight Robert Salah. Not for nothing. I think I wouldn’t push Gump shove. I passed on a I passed on a tussle with him. I would do that as well. Um, you know, but I guess if you what if you if you have no haters, you’re not popping. Isn’t that what he said back in the day when he was with the Jets? Um, and and then there’s is there’s another two banger uh from Monday night in week six. I’m just noticing that as well. Um, and so so is the next one that you’re going to at Houston at Detroit? You going to Detroit as well, Scott? I think so. Okay. where that might be a that might be an aggressive u private aviation deal where we go to Detroit but then fly back to try to do the show from DC from the night one. I don’t know how we’re going to sort that one out, but we got friends and no friends. So, you know, we got friends who we’ll see what the boys from Fly House can cook up if we can get from A to B in a in a hurry. But, okay. I mean, look, it’s it’s just great fun. Whether it’s a double header with a couple of 0 and3 teams and then a team that loses quarterback, like there’s nothing that nothing that moves the needle like the NFL. As you well know, you’ve made your your living so capably and so so beautifully for so many years covering it. There’s just nothing that captivates our interest and attention, even if it’s, you know, a couple of games that aren’t quite what we thought they might be when the season started. All right. Is did Kelsey make it back from Ireland for tonight? Do we know if Kelsey’s back from his walkabout with uh with Bill Murray from Ireland? Do we know, Scott? Did he make it? I I said we know people that know people. I’m pretty sure he’s got people. I know people. I think he’s got people. I’m going to say yes. Yeah. He wasn’t on Heirlingus. Is that what you’re saying? Okay. You’re most welcome. Good morning. No, I don’t think he’s on airing. Okay. He wasn’t doing that. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. Theyre very good as usual in the Josh Allen era but they've had close(ish) games against terrible teams…I could see them beating anyone and I could also see them getting blown out by handful of teams. Beware the September Banner

  2. The Bills have had the same recurring nightmare for the last 5 years. They have a championship-caliber offense, but don't have a championship-winning defense. And they never seem to solve the issue.

  3. I’m heading to Buffalo in a few days never been their sadly won’t see a game we ll get to see outside of stadium Oh well my bucket list is to see a game Go Bills👍🏈

  4. Get it, I think the bills are emotional favorites for a lot of broadcasters because everyone would like to see them finally win a Super Bowl. But the cold hard reality for those of us who follow the team is that our coaching is subpar, our defense always collapses in the playoffs, and Josh Allen doesn’t have a real number one receiver. It can be overlooked during the season, but not against the very best teams. Which is why we continue to lose the playoffs year after year after year to the Chiefs. Until we replace the coach and the philosophy of draft picks, we are never winning

  5. Bills fan here. It’s only game 4. I would put Philly ahead of us because of the D . The KC game coming up will determine something. Bills still have two suspensions out and KC as always is getting their act together. If the Bills don’t get AFC first seed, it’s on them.

  6. Nobody seems to mentionthat the Bills have five starters on defense out with injury or suspension the "D" will be fine when everyone gets back and then no stopping us.

  7. Bills fan here, we are a top team if Josh continues to put up 30+ and not turn the ball over. But it has to be 30+ every single week without fail bevause the defense just isn't good enough. The defense has shown it can situationally make big plays, which is a welcome change from the useless bend-but-dont-break defense that falls apart in the playoffs every year.
