Just to be clear, this is specifically about Lukas Reichel
So should we just assume the opposite of everything said here is true?
Don’t think Reichel is worth the flier when you could give Lekkerimaki sometime there first. Would rather save the mid round pick and get a veteran later in the season.
not surprised about the ceiling. I’ve been saying that on this sub and on r/hockey.
The teams already on revenue sharing will have to choose between finding other sources of funding or not spending anywhere close to the cap at the cost of competitiveness as the ceiling goes up. And many teams currently above the line could end up underwater.
I think at around $125-$130 million, they’ll go back to basically flat cap with marginal increases for optics and just rely on escrow at the end of the year to top up the players.
5+ % year over year increases after that range would only benefit a handful of teams. I think even Aqua would run out of spend soon unless we’re competitive. It’s not worth spending $140 mil USD to field a middling team.
With Kravtsov, Stillman and Reichel we’ll have an army of 1st round busts to terrify the AHL with
Thanks for the recap, much better than listening to Frank
Reichel sounds like one of those Goldobin, Vey, Etem, Baertschi type reclamation projects. I would rather give our internal guys like Lekk, Karlsson, Sasson, Bains and even Kravtsov a chance
We’ve got three 4th round picks in 27 and two 4ths in 28, it can’t really hurt to try out Reichel and see if can work. Sometimes a change in scenery is all a player can need
Malkin to the Panthers would be insane. Does that open the door for Crosby to be moved.
Im not going to pretend to know a ton about Lukas Reichel, but I feel like it’s probably a guarantee we see Allvin flip a mid-round pick for some forward depth.
I don’t hate the idea of Lekkeremakki going down to Abby and playing a bunch of minutes 5v5/PP1 to round out his game.
What is a mid-round pick? Fifth? Is so, sure, give him a try. Fourth? Maybe worth it, maybe not.
Wait – are we considering Seravalli credible again?
Don’t see a fit here, he plays LW according to hockey db and gets caved in at the nhl level. He seems to have some scoring touch but I think we have better internal prospects than this guy.
Reichel is not waiver exempt. Maybe he makes the team out of training camp, but he will struggle to find a place once Hogs is healthy. Don’t think he gets more than 4th line minutes either. If you can’t crack the Top 6 with Chicago’s depth, you can’t do it in Vancouver
I saw Seravalli and promptly exited the chat.
The salary growth is based off the league’s revenue. Salaries go up when HRR is more than it was last year.
What’s this hairbrained take about keeping the cap low?
